My mystery snail climbed out when I really didn't think there was enough of a gap. He broke and died. He was the best worker and most interesting thing to look at. Be careful with them.
For anyone lurking the comments: I have a 5 gal tank and plan on putting some fish in after cycling. Does this look good or would it be overstocked? -2 Endler Livebearers -4 Chilli rasboras -1 Nerite snail
It would probably be okay filtration wise, but endlers and rasboras are schooling/shoaling fish, and need to be kept in groups of at least 6-7 of their own kind. I would probably get either 6-7 endlers or 6-7 rasboras and the snail instead, as they need a school and getting a school of each would overstock the tank.
I’ve been trying to watch a lot of videos to see if I could sift out an obvious answer, but what I’d like to know is how many of what fish I could have in a 20 gallon community tank. Is it too much to have a honey gourami, pygmy corydoras, and chili rasboras? If I do one gourami and 7 of the corys, how many chili rasboras could I have? I absolutely love chili rasboras, if that’s too much stocking I’d consider going with a 29 gallon if it would make the difference
i had 2 honey gouramis that both died of swim bladder disease after about 6 months of owning them. I was keeping them with endlers, and the endlers are still alive and well. Not sure if anyone else has that problem with honey gouramis
Took me 3 years to figure out the water was killing my bettas. and I found that the filtration was inadequate I had to add an extra sponges in the filter compartments and some extra biomedia. I did what they said 5 gallon filter no heater cuz I'm living in Taiwan but I even have heaters when I need them I bought them. Two heaters and if it's by the window I put one in but most of the time Taiwan is hot and humid I'm an American living here and it took me 3 years to find almond leaves and it took me 2 years to find Frozen bloodworms. That reminds me I have to feed my fish. I also have two types of pellets also soak your pellets I think it's really good for preventing swim bladder. males get that very easily every fish that has ever died has been male. I've had maybe 10 females in the last 3 years and only two died because they were really small and one was deformed but they all lived for two to three years and just died of old age really if I had known about the water I would have found the almond leaves sooner but it really does neutralize water when I put in two or three big chunks of almond leaves it actually takes out the acid or neutralizes it in my water for at least a week so I don't need to do a water change until then and even when I do a water change it's maybe once a week now I have a tank that's pretty big there are six male guppies and one female betta who gets along very well with them Their water change I do a complete water change like I cleaned the filters to smudges of course in the old water I remove out all the plants and stones and Driftwood put it in a clean bowl and then I take the tank into the actual bathroom scrub out the gravel like rinse it until it's clean because guppies pool a lot and truthfully the Tate gets pretty cruddy through the filter so I just do this because gravel vacuuming doesn't work very well. I don't feel that my tanks are clean particularly in the gravel however I rinse none of The hardscape or the Driftwood or the plants off and then I don't rinse out the filter and you water I use old water so it is all beneficial bacteria But the other tanks yeah I just need to gravel back and it works just fine and I've got healthy fish for guppies are being put into another tank because their tails have been ripped I think someone was thin nipping.
I have to ask a question, when you were in Pharmacy school, did you kept any fish or even a Betta while also studying? I want your honest answer man, I’m really thinking of getting a Betta. Thanks in advance!
Hello great vid i have a 29 gallon tank i have 2 zebra danios 3 mollies 2 tetras 2 glofish tetra 1 african dwarf frog 2 Cherry shrimp 8 ghost shrimp and 4 snails and 2 cory julil what would you recommend i add to my tank im really looking for diversity by the way this is my first serious fish tank any changes i need to make.
The only thing you can do is remove like half of those species and up the schools of the rest. You have a ton of schoolers with less than five of each kind
@@xtalau That's a great point, Gina! Any extra stocking room should go to increasing the size of the schools of the existing fish. For example, corydoras are going to show more and more of their natural behaviours, the bigger the school you keep. I recently reorganized my tanks and turned one tank over to a couple of schools of different types of corydoras. There are 16 pygmy cories in there, and they are so cool together! And a smaller school of bilineatus, a less common type. They do interact a little bit between schools, but show a strong preference for being with their own type.
If you've got hard water that's horrifically acidic don't get male bettas they don't do well Female bettas actually do great I don't know why all my female bed is have lived 3 years at least milbadas can't get one to live past 4 months. now guppies on the other hand they don't seem to be croaking I don't know why maybe there's somewhat hearty fish I don't know
This is such a high quality video! Great job!
Thank you so much!
Love your vids! I did most of the "Hacks" you recommended for the Marineland portrait 5 gallon. Total game changer!
Glad you like them!
Guppies are supper cute, I love you’re video, the fish are so colorful and I had no idea what to get until I saw this 💕
thanks Lisbett! glad it was helpful
I can’t wait to see your Betta fish guide and maybe some background on where you got your Betta fish too!
Entei Raikou a lot of preliminary planning in the works! cant wait to provide more content!
Can’t wait to see your other tanks! Also nice video edits! The music 🤌🏽
thanks Jes!

IF I WAS A COLLEGE STUDENT I WOULD PROBABLY WANT JUST ONE FISH WITH CHARACTER LIKE A CICHLID. CAN YOU DO A LIST VIDEO OF CICHLID FISH FOR A 20
that's a solid idea, boss- will add it to my list of videos!

Welcome aboard!
Nice video mate, thanks for the ideas. (Did find music a bit distracting though :))
was a bit loud in this one for sure 😂

if I had known about the water I would have found the almond leaves sooner but it really does neutralize water
when I put in two or three big chunks of almond leaves it actually takes out the acid or neutralizes it in my water for at least a week so I don't need to do a water change until then and even when I do a water change it's maybe once a week now I have a tank that's pretty big there are six male guppies and one female betta who gets along very well with them
Their water change I do a complete water change like I cleaned the filters to smudges of course in the old water I remove out all the plants and stones and Driftwood put it in a clean bowl and then I take the tank into the actual bathroom scrub out the gravel like rinse it until it's clean because guppies pool a lot and truthfully the Tate gets pretty cruddy through the filter so I just do this because gravel vacuuming doesn't work very well.

Great video!
Thank you Mark!
Thanks for the helpful tips, just starting my first tank ~ 15G. Is it ok to have both Mystery Snails and Red Cherry Shrimps together?
thats a great combo!
the the pearl danios do fine in a 20gallon
Can I keep just 2 goldfishes in a 20 gallon tank ? ... Buy small and take care of them.... is it ok ?
What 20 gallon tank kit do you suggest-one with a great filter system?
Would 3 Molly 3 plattys 3 Cory catfish and 3 gourami be fine for a 36 gallon if not what should I adjust
If i were you I would do a 50 gallon tank dude
Plus add additional filter to it
Cory catfish need to be in a minimum group size of 8
Underated
appreciate it theo!
If it’s a small tank like a ten only get one honey gourami or theyll stress each other out and may die
good to know! thanks for the info
That an Ever Forward Maxx Chewning shirt?
his first drop back in the deadlift brah days ;)

Hey Luis, it seems already pretty diverse to me! great job
