- Been a while! Hope you guys enjoy this video. I've got a really exciting hand to hand focused series on the way showcasing a specific move each video, so stay tuned for that! Again I appreciate everyone's support on this channel so far more than anything. I hope you all are training hard and always learning. Have a damn good day and don't forget to Subscribe and hit that bell!
Hey man, this was a very good drill. I had little to no experience with Bo staff but after doing this drill for about an hour or so I feel way better with the weapon, very helpful and very important video thank you.
This is a great series idea. Looking forward to seeing them all.
What would you like to see?
I think the staff is a very interesting weapon, used all over the world. I do not know if you are familiar with shorter staff type weapons, like walking canes or police batons? Also empty hand techniques, like drills or forms you could practice on your own. Any type of defense against knives? These are just some ideas. I am sure you know more about it than I do. Good luck with your channel 👍
i love staff fighting! very good video! please do more ;)
Phenomenal video! Keep it up man!
You do a very good job with instruction. Your step by step process, then reviewing short chains of strikes, is a very effective way to teach.
This has me eager to take out my staff, which is also rattan. I agree, rattan staves are my favorite.
Though a nice red oak staff feels pretty nice, too. It depends if you want higher weight and rigidity, or speed and flexibility.
Thank you.
Glad i subscribed. After your nunchuck videos i really wanted to see more.
Saw a really cool piece of bamboo about as tall as I and got it, then remembered this video a few days later. Been practicing using this video once a day since. Not as thick as I'd like it to be, but something is better than nothing.
Nice! I’ve been wanting to learn the staff for awhile.
This is the perfect way to start!
Can you do a video about nunchucks for beginners please
Hell yes. Let's go!
Cool video I'm actually going to copy this
Thank you to share. Step by step, slow motion and normal speed.
Cool!
please keep the vids coming
1:12 Big Stick energy lol
Neckbeard incel still repeats mantra stolen from his neckbeard incel waifu lol.
Tell me where do you keep that staff? It is not a walking stick.
You have good content. Your channel could grow if u added at least once every 10 days
What systems of kobudo do you train in? The movements look Okinawan like in Ryukyu Kobudo.
The movements originate from Kobudo styles, but my school mainly referred to it as "Okinawan Style Weaponry"
Staves are 10x better then nunchucks
Hey, here's a dumbass question I came up with because its 3 am and I should probably be sleeping, you think you could staff fight in full medieval European armor?
😂
Given what I know about it I'm inclined to say....
Maybe?
I think Kobudo in particular has some movements which are unachievable in that armor, but maybe a modified form of it would work.
For reference incase you don't know, medieval armor was only minimally restrictive.
You had pretty good range of movement, but I suspect some of those over the head movements would give someone in medieval armor trouble.
(When i say medevial armor I mean full plate armor.)
You could also run at full sprint in them, you could roll in them, jump a hurdle, mount and dismount a horse, you could do alot in that armor.
It only weighs about 60 pounds which may sound like alot, but that's the same amount a police officer might carry, (as far as straight up gear) and they too can go full sprint.
It's also weight distributed across rhe body and not in any one single place.
Anyway, just an interesting question I came up with.
😂
wow i am the first here
Welcome! Let me know what you think 🙂
@@milanifitnessofficial yea it is very easy to follow & understand all i need to do now is find myself a broken broom.
@@cillianennis9921 or go to the home Depot! They have some really good beginner staffs there!
@@milanifitnessofficial yea i just know their is probally a broken broom in my garden as i have messed with it before but with no real profesional idea of how to use it.
Simple pattern making use of both ends of staff. Reach and power sacrificed for speed and control. Smacking yourself with that is very possible.
