    You know after this video and learning nunchaku I have gotten a love for a lot of Chinese and Kung Fu weapons, or mainly the martial arts ones. Tonfa seemed weird at first but now I realize how insane they are, someone with plenty training and experience would be really hard to fight. I mean his punches or attacks with tonfa would hurt 5x and if they block your punched that will hurt, nevermind if they block your kick ow my shins 😭😭 funny thing is police had Tonfas but they don't know how to use them 😂 Question man: How does Red Oak Tonfa differ from other wood, or the police tonfa which is made of plastic or some ish?

    I've Japanese-American, and I learned how to use the nunchaku when I was stationed in Okinawa at Camp Hansen, Okinawa. The nunchaku is fun to use for exercise and also to use for kobu-jutsu (weapons art) kata in martial arts tournaments. However, the nunchaku is not a good self-defense weapon because there are far better weapons which allows you to strike an attacker while being out of range for a counter-attack. This, of course, includes a firearm. It also includes an improvised weapon, like a mop handle. A nunchaku is better than no weapon at all. However, if you have the opportunity to choose a self-defense weapon, it is far more reasonable to use a weapon with longer extension, which includes a bariatric cane, which is legal to walk in public with. It also includes law enforcement-grade pepper spray, which also has its disadvantages. For instance, after spraying someone with law enforcement-grade pepper spray, you are still supposed to orbit away from your attacker so your attacker doesn't charge you where he last saw you and ground and pound you.

    Brilliant video - full of experience, real science, sound explanations and realistic practical use. I have used Nunchaku since 1975 - yes, a Bruce Lee disciple. Self taught - with the bruises to prove it! Great to hear you explain all the things I have experienced but always wondered if they were right. Now I know they are.! . Recently I have let the practice slip but you have re-ignited the thrill. Thank you. Let us not forget the training advantages of: spatial awareness, brain training - crossing from L to R , joint exercise, hand eye coordination, muscle building and flexibility, hand eye coordination, anticipation, reflex building, stamina. And finally, don't forget looking cool! From a 70 year old practitioner, respect and thank you for setting the record straight. Nunchaku classes for pensioners? why not Sensei? It is like a finger pointing to the moon, don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all the heavenly glories. ( Guess who said that!)

    Dude you really need to learn the science of physics. Shadiversity really schooled yiu big time. You even said it yourself, you need experience to use nunchucks without hurting yourself. Any idiot with no experience can use a stick and do as much damage as someone with experience,like yourself, using nunchucks. You also said if you are facing someone without a weapon the nunchucks will win. If someone had a gun and you had your nunchucks, who would win? Again guns are also more effective weapons for anyone with 0 experience. Damn you really need to get your facts straight and not mis-inform your viewers. That makes you a more dangerous person.........fake news

    Tonfa also knows as the Toguai by the Chinese had been a very popular weapon from the earlier dynasties. In five anscestors fist Gung-Fu it's quite popular. The Ryukyu Kingdom (Later renamed Okinawa) had adopted it when the pioneers of Karate brought it back from their trip from China I love training with that weapon. My favorite techniques involve chain punching with them and then swinging them out. 👊🥋

Every single time I see people on the internet say things like "using a cane for self defense is ridiculous" I just think back to my 7 year old self binge watching zgb and I wonder why people just say shit without testing it or looking for evidence. The fine people at zgb have done so much for us, we should at least site their tests as evidence!

    I have never actually seen nunchucks in actual sparring before, so i thought they were basically useless. I think i might buy a pair now! That shit's fuckin scary! Edit: Hey shad fans, i know shad (according to you guys) said "stick better genrally because of defense ". I wanna point out that nobody even cares because why would you? Shad was still wrong about most everything he said, demonstrated by this video, and honestly that's a bad take anyways. Weapons are made for specific purposes, and nunchucks excell at what they're made for. It's pedantic and weird to say that a stick is better than nunchucks because it has defense. I don’t know if you noticed, but it's awfully easy to hit somebody in the head with nunchucks, and it's not easy to know where your opponent is going to hit at any given point in time. AND nunchucks can hit you past your guard because they flop around. Please, just think twice about harassing somebody on the internet because you don’t like their jointed sticks.

    I just can't agree with the whole idea that you can't talk about a subject if you don't practice it. All it takes is a little honesty, admitting you don't know everything and you could very well be wrong, and being open to criticism when you are. You also discourage alot of people who probably watch your stuff just because they think it's cool but will never actually do anything, from talking about what you make when you say that. Do you want us here or don't you? Eh I don't know, maybe that was a bit harsh, but it's just not a position I can get behind.

    • @milanifitnessofficial
      @milanifitnessofficial 4 месяца назад

      Perhaps I should have phrased it initially how I phrased it later in the video. My intended meaning is found in your second paragraph, and that is that Shad never admits he doesn't know everything. It's fine to theorize about something and give opinions. What I have a problem with us when you present something in an art as truth and don't practice said art to a high level.

      @@TTKGARBO "as soon as someone hit it, it would break" not really? I mean, if it was poorly made, I guess.
