Without lashes, you did all the beautiful blending and I think the false lashes cover it up.
Yes lashes definitely covers a lot of the shadow work. You’re right about that!
I also follow Smitha Deepak, and her rule of thumb is to forgo the falsies when she wants to show off intricate, shimmery, or colorful eyeshadow but to add the falsies for drama when the eye makeup is simpler. I guess it depends on what you want to emphasize for your look.
@@carachow007 I love Smitha so much. Her channel is so inspiring to me. I agree with her that lashes hide a lot of the makeup look. It creates a dark shadow on top of everything but I personally always find that it looks beautiful. I don't like really over the top lashes, but a full fluffy lash will always win over my heart,
These were definitely full and fluffy! Beautiful application, tks!
For me depends on the type of lashes if you're wearing big old drag queen lashes of course is going to cover up everything but if you're wearing leg very petite girly feminine eyelashes it's not going to cover up everything you wear eyelashes to depending on what kind of look you're doing
I hope that you found this video helpful! I did my best to explain everything in as much detail as possible. Let me know if you have any questions for me here in the comments section.

Thanks for linking to that video. I'm over 50 and I appreciate the videos that address the difference. Luckily my skin hasn't changed much, but I really like that you know how to deal with the changes that come with getting older.
I do have a question... What should I look for in a setting powder? Do you have any suggestions on lower priced ones?
Hi beautiful hope you are having a wonderful blessed day ❤😘
Hi beautiful I have a question on the age perfect concealer from L’Oréal. On this video what shade color are you using? 😊
Hi GlamGirlGabi! I did like and subscribe. You did a good job explaining everything! Now that I'm turning 60 years old my eyes have wrinkles under them and I have hooded eyes. I'll watch your next video that you linked.
Because my skin is less elastic, it's harder to apply eyeliner. It doesn't go on smoothly like it used to. I'm going to use a smudger brush next time. Your eyes looked much prettier with the eyeliner smudged. I love the natural look! I like how you look without false eyelashes, but you look beautiful and glamorous with them on.
Right now I'm only using two shades of eyeshadow: Naked Lunch by MAC and a reddish brown shade by MAC, but the label is worn off and I don't know what color it is. I want to use Teddy as an eyeliner on the top but it comes out too thick. Any suggestions? I usually use Teddy eyeliner or another color part way on the bottom near my lashes.
I've always loved makeup, but now that I'm older I have to make a few changes. I use L'Oreal Age Perfect glycolic acid toner, serum, and moisturizers for day and night. It's only been a month and my skin already looks better! I can't put anything on my eyelids for the wrinkles though. Is there anyrhing natural I can put on my eyelids to help with loose skin and hooded eyes? Like a home remedy since I can't put any chemicals for wrinkles on my eyelids.
Thank you for taking the time to read my comment. ❤🌻🌷
Would love to see you go through a tutorial for those women who have hooded lids.❤❤❤
Hey Jen! I actually have that in the works right now. It will be out within the next month. Stay tuned for that. Also, thank you for joining channel memberships!
Gabi, you're the best! Appreciate your breaking down the exact brushes. Very helpful. (And you are pretty no matter what - eyelashes, no eyelashes, makeup, no makeup. You brighten my day!
As a makeup artist i can very much appreciate your technical to the point instructions. Beautiful application and great tips!!
Love your makeup sessions!❤ I am learning so much. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm 65 yo and feeling great! Really appreciate all of the ways to help me look my best. Thank you for taking an interest in women my age. You are a sweetheart. ❤❤❤
I'm not just saying this...this is one of the best tutorials and it's so pretty on you. I think I can do it!
You can do it! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It really means a lot to me and I’m so happy that this was helpful for you.
I'm probably the odd one out, but I prefer the natural lash look to the fake lashes! The eyecolors/technique are perfect without the added weight, easier too. Maybe demis at the outer edges max.... but that's just me! I like the natural effortless look better than the hyper-hollywood.
I agree. I learned makeup in the late 90’s early 00’s at the Chanel and Dior counters, long before RUclips & instagram days, and they never used fake lashes. Even now, those high end European fashion house luxury companies don’t use falsies. I never have myself. I much prefer just mascara looks.
I never get tired of watching eye makeup videos and I never get tired of watching any of your videos. Everything you do is amazing! I really appreciate everything you share. 🤗🥰
Thank you so much Vivian! That means the world to me.
Even with your amazing instructions, my eyeshadow is a hot mess🙄. I do have 77 year old eyelids, so there’s that. I’ll keep practicing!! ❤️
Thank you so much for this Gabi, it really is the best tutorial and explanation I've seen. Love love love your channel, more people need to know about you and how fantastic you are! Lots of love from the UK xx
Thank you for filming this video, Gabi. You are such a good teacher. I really loved the lashes on you! They were natural and yet a little extra, really pretty!
Thank you so much Tracey! I am so happy to hear that this tutorial was helpful for you! It means a lot to me when my audience takes the time to leave a comment. I appreciate you.
❤ This thank you so much. My vote-Without the false lashes looks amazing. 🎉
Hi Gabi! This video was really helpful. I wear glasses and always want my eyeshadow to look “just right”. Thanks for the application lesson. I love the lashes and wear them almost everyday. I feel that they elevate even any look. ♥️
This makes it incredibly easy. Now, I can pick up a palette with confidence and not just stare at it, wondering what shade to use or even start with. Thanks Gabi.
Edit: I can't wait to see the false eyelashes tutorial. I try, but it takes me forever to get it right, so most of the time, I give up, but I really think false eyelashes elevates the look tremendously.
This is so pretty Gabi! Unfortunately, not possible with severely hooded and downturned eyelids like mine…but I can dream…😊
You could still do it Mary! You just have to use a softer eyeliner and not do a wing on the ends. A wing will interfer with hooding but the other steps are the same. I do this look on mature clients with hooded eyes all the time.
Beautiful! Great instructions
thank you so much for explaining everything! as a beginner, this helps tremendously! You are the first person on youtube that I’ve watched so far who literally explains everything step and why
I'm glad you enjoyed the style of video. I sometimes wonder if I'm saying too much, so I do really appreciate the feedback!
You make it look so effortless and easy….and beautiful. I’ve tried several times to do this and end up looking like a clown….I will try this and play your video….at the same time….yes I will - and thank you ….
What are your thoughts on using shadow or liner under the eye on older women? I've heard we shouldn't because it draws attention to dark circles, but my eyes seem undefined if I don't do something there. Is there a certain way it should be applied? (I'm 63 with hooded eyes.) Thanks!
Great question👍
I use liners underneath, shadows etc. I tried the no under eye look? And OMG my eyes looked naked without it😂 I am 53 and I don't follow those you should do this and not that vids. Do what you do that makes you... You. But I do follow new techniques for application. Have a good one❤
I love that you talked about the difference the right brushes make. Most people don't know the impact of this! And thank you for always adding a little humor into your videos, makes them fun to watch☺️
You are so welcome! Brushes make a tremendous impact on the overall look of the makeup, don't you think? I am really excited to come and teach the class for you guys next week Elle!
@GlamGirlGabi Yes, definitely brushes make all the difference! Its sometimes hard to stress this enough to clients. I can't wait for you to come to my store either, we are so excited to have you🥰!!!!!!!!!
You make it look so easy. Beautiful
Perfect eyeshadows!
So glad I came across your channel
Very timely ... I've been looking for a great how-to for eye shadow. Many, many thanks. So clear and easy to follow.
You are so welcome! I’m really happy to hear that it was helpful for you!
Excellent video. Thank you for all the details it helps a ton. I've been playing with makeup for years but there's always more to learn 💓
Beautiful look, Gaby, and beautifully explained - thank you!
Love your videos. I really appreciate how down to earth and honest you are! I love the look with the eyelashes. I think eyelashes make almost any eye look, look better. Thank you.
I have to agree. I'm pretty skilled at shadow application, and this technique is solid no matter what palette you use. The only difference is for liner, I always use a waterproof liquid one because my skin is very oily. One thing new I learned from this video is using moisturizer on the q tip for a clean edge....I always used rubbing alcohol (😬😑).....I wouldn't recommend that, though lol, especially for dry sensitive eyes.
Love how your eyes look without the false lashes. I prefer a natural look. Great video!
Both look good, but I prefer with lashes. Can't wait for the tutorial !
TY sooo much...I am going to watch again. Learned alot..Anxiously waiting for the eyelashes tutorial..❤
This is awesome you teach the confidence we need to achieve what we see ❤
Super helpful and well-made video tutorial thank you very much Gabi!
I watched this video and followed this step by step. I received so many compliments at work and from my husband. Been following this channel for probably two years and wanted to say I am a big fan. I love your work and you are a great teacher. Also this channel just a lot of fun. God bless and have a lovely 4th of July! ❤🎉
I ♥️ the look and the simple explanation ❤
Gorgeous. I prefer the look without the lashes added. I love your whole approach, Gabi. Thank you!
Thank you for the tip about using moisturizer on a Q-tip to clean up the under eye area! I've been playing with eye shadow for many years and have never heard that. With my deep-set eyes, fallout/smudges are always an issue.
Thank you for explaining in details all the brushes and techniques.
I really like your videos, Gabi! So helpful.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
💃🏻FINALLY A STEP BY STEP EYE SHADOW VIDEO 💪🏽
Great tips as always!❤
Your videos are always so helpful. Great explanation and step by step guide!
Just perfect! Very well explained and gorgeous!
Thank you so much! I am so happy that you found it helpful!
Thanks Gabi. Loved this video. Very helpful 😊
Thank you so very much! I have learned so much from watching you!
With lashes - gorgeous glam.
Great easy beautiful look ❤
Thank you for the clear instructions! I have saved your video to rewatch since I can be a little dense when it comes to applying eyeshadow. Best explanation of blending brushes I've seen.
I can literally watch your videos for days. Omgoodness your model I believe her name is Monica WOW Gabi you made her look 40 years old. You are sooooo gifted I've watched this before just rewatching. I love your content I found out what skin tone I am. I just love you soooo much I got my hair cut shorter on Christmas Eve it's a bixie I Love it. You encouraged me to go short last year with a blunt bob. I hope you have a wonderful New Year. I wish we lived closer I would love to be your model. I adore you. Love to you and your family Gorgeous Gabi ❤ Thanks for being you
Thank you that was such a sweet comment. I love to hear when the channel inspires others! Hope you have a great 2024!
You do the best application videos, jam packed with helpful reminders and/or how-to’s! Thank you! And, I love lashes, but in this scenario I’m actually leaning towards the no lash look. Not sure if you follow Samantha Chapman one of the original founders of Real Techniques brushes out of the UK? Anywho, she does a lot of looks with no mascara or lashes for an undone, yet cool girl vibe. So, I like it all! 💖
Loved the tutorial!
Thank you Gabi ❤
It looks amazing with lashes
I like it with lashes. Excellent video.
The BEST beauty prof❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for a great demo Gabi. One of the best tutorials with a lot of work on your part. You look beautiful with & without the lashes! Good to see the difference & learn. The end result, is fantastic. You look gorgeous😍
You have done a great job with this video. I understand so much better. Thank you.
You make the task of eyeshadow application doable! Thank you for this!!

Love the lashes!
BEAUUUTIFUL!!
I love this. What a clear, easy video - and great results! I just did it.
Thank you!! How did it turn out for you? I’m so glad that you found it helpful. I really thought about ways to demonstrate this technique in a way that was not intimidating or overwhelming
@@GlamGirlGabi It turned out great! You did a perfect job of explaining it, and the work you put into your videos shows in the results. Thank you!
@@B30pt87 I really do appreciate you saying that!
Thank u so much Gabi! I always need help applying eyeshadows!
Love it with and without lashes, but the lash really adds a finishing touch.

Just beautiful ❤
Thank you. Basic seems to work best for women over 60
So pretty!
Your eyes look stunning the lashes added on at the end look great, I love how you explain and show how to apply the eye shadow and what brushes to use very informative, thank you 🙏🌸
I love the step by step it makes it easier to learn the look ❤
I love your style of videos. Very helpful and informative. Thank you for that.
Love this ❤
I’m on 2min17sec of your video and I really love it. You’re very matter of fact, everything is perfect (hair, glowy face, background, nails clean, little or no jewelry). I like the way you reason with why we should have each of the brushes (and offer alternatives) and you talk in a no nonsense way, very confident (some of the make up artists get really silly and flamboyant with their hand gestures or get narcissistic). Thank you. Looking forward to more and I “liked” your video.
Thank you so much!! This is really wonderful feedback and I’m so happy to hear that this video resonated with you. Sometimes I worry I don’t put enough personality into my content but I just want to give people the information they’re looking for without having to sit through a bunch of stuff. It’s not about me. It’s about you as the viewer.
This is such a great video and easy to follow ! I look forward to trying this 😊
Great. As i have never been confident in achieving a great look 😊happy 😊 i have found this video. Thank you. Appreciate 😊
Great tutorial!
Great video. Thanks!
Love your videos and they're very helpful. Thanks so much ❤
I’m definitely a fan ❤
Love this tutorial. I've seen so many but yours made more sense with the different shading. Ive never been huge on lots of eyeshadow but I'm going to give it a try 😊🌟
Great tutorial
Absolutely love this look. Going to practice this, for a forthcoming wedding I’m attending. Please could you do a tutorial on makeup for mature, dry skin - one that you can attend a special event with, for example, a wedding. I’m always made fun of for not wearing makeup and you have inspired me to try. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for sharing this information with me 💕💕
Love the lashes!!!!! Wish I could have you do my makeup!!!!!!!
I love it, the best makeup, best explanation 👌 👏
