- Hi!!! Oh my gosh!! Welcome to another New House Projects vlog where we are finally to the last steps in our DIY Kitchen Renovation ... I can't believe it! We have shared the whole process on this channel as well as our vlog channel {Kyle&Amanda} And today we are adding some DIY under cabinet and above cabinet lighting with LED strips... super DIY friendly! I'm also doing a FBMP furniture flip on some more kitchen stools that I got for $40 & of course... installing our marble tile backsplash in a herringbone pattern (don't recommend, but also totally recommend! haha) Also, check out our full kitchen renovation here → • KITCHEN RENOVATION // ... Love your kitchen. It looks great, do you think that paint would do well on paneling? Our family room is so dark, thinking of painting it a dove gray.
@@laurawatson338 I would think beyond paint would do good with paneling… it’s a bit thicker than traditional paint though, so if you don’t need it (like for furniture) I would suggest Benjamin moore regal select from ace hardware! My fave paint wall paint 😍

I clean the tops of my kitchen cupboards (cabinets) every three months. A neat trick I learned is to put plastic wrap (saran wrap) on the tops after cleaning and drying it. It keeps the dust away for longer and nobody knows it's there! 😁

It looks very expensive and classic, Amanda and Kyle. Really terrific. You work together so well (at least, the parts we see!). Great teamwork looking great! Keep top off cabinet dust at bay. Place sheet of wax paper on tops. Just remove and throw away, put down fresh as needed.

Paint the underside of your cabinets so the under cabinet lights don’t read yellow. It’s a pet peeve of mine. Kitchen looks great.

Hubby and I tiled our bathroom. The shower walls, floor, bathroom floor and and wall surrounding the stand alone tub. Took us weeks to complete bc we were doing it a few hours a day, a few days a week after work but, it turned out beautiful and exactly how we wanted. Made us feel proud to see we did that.

Yes and yes my husband even owns his own construction company and it took us 2 months to remodel our kitchen. We did our jobs during the day and our kitchen after work. We had a set up in our sparebedroom as a kitchenette, but in the end it was so worth it and let me tell you, we did everything from painting, countertops, backslash, lighting, ugh everything. The glory of being married to a carpenter😊 but yours looks amazing 👏

✨️✨️✨️amazing. The cabinet lights shine a light on the master of a kitchen. The backsplash while painful was well worth the hiccups, the multiple store visits and endless hours. I've never considered doing this myself but I'm inspired by your kitchen to hire someone. This took way more patience and time that I can give 😅. For the grout, I would go with white that blends into it. Great job 👍🏼🙌🏽🏡
i think the fact that kyle put in a dimmer really made the strip lights much better
My husband tiled our backsplash all by himself a couple years back, and I remember he hated me so much because he said that I had picked the most difficult tile pattern, which was herringbone. It took him a week to complete our kitchen, and he kept telling me that it would’ve been done if I had just chosen regular subway pattern, but I had to choose the fancier one I guess. Lol
Kyle needs a workbench table to use instead of the tailgate of his truck. Great Fathers Day gift for him.

No, I have never done a backsplash like this before ever, I watch videos like these as my socio-economic background would not compensate for this kind home ownership. That is why I watch your channel, I can live vicariously through your own beautiful home. 😊🖖🏽
Looks Great! Also, don't forget to show the sealing of your grout, because most people don't. The grout has to be sealed whenever people tile and grout or the grout gets filthy, and you are constantly cleaning it. Most people don't know that you need to do that every year if you don't use harsh cleaners and more than once a year if you do use harsh cleaners. (You can purchase the sealer and small bottle with a grout tip wherever you got the other stuff, you must have to know the type of grout you use, and the bottle and tip makes it easy to redo it also).

I say pick a color grout that blends in. You have beautiful a pattern that it needs to shine on its own. Again it looks fantastic! I’m so happy for you guys, finally getting your new kitchen.

You guys rock! It’s beautiful. If it were me, I’d choose the “blend-in” color for the grout, life’s experiences have shown me that the higher the contrast, the sooner I tire of it. That could be just me. I’d love that counter & backsplash in my kitchen.

Wow you guys! Just wow! What an awesome job you are doing and this video had me glued to the screen! Eight years ago, My husband and I tore out an old backsplash, had to repair the Sheetrock😅, like you, then put up our own, new backsplash. Our tiles were oversized subway tiles, in a staggered pattern, so was much easier than the pattern you are doing, and yours looks fabulous! And now you have to decide the color and type of grout, that’ll take a minute, haha. Everything always seems to take longer than planned. So now, anything we do, it’s safe to add at least 2 additional days, but silly me, I still always think “oh this won’t take That Long, we can prob get it done in a day”. Can’t wait for more from you guys and still waiting in suspense to see if the coffee table gets lime washed or not🤗❤️

It looks gorgeous! I have done my own backsplash with a mosaic Mexican title in my first house. I had left over title from a table project. I didn’t have enough full pieces to do it but tons of broken pieces from shipping. So I broke them all and made a mosaic non pattern. It turned out beautiful. When I eventually sold that house, the new owners said they loved it so much it was a selling point for them! Lol! It was a beautiful kitchen. I might have to do it again someday.

Great job on tiling! Something I haven’t subjugated myself to yet, so I’m very impressed. We have little LED lights under our cabinets and I love the extra light when I’m working in the kitchen. We have string light on top, which makes excellent nightlights, especially when we have guests at night. Have a great week!
