rory ist und war immer der Beste , ich liebe seine Musik für immer.......🎸🎸💪💪👍👍
One of the ALL TIME greatest guitarists EVER!!! Went to see Deep Purple when they were doing the Machine Head tour and Rory opened. He was so good that after Deep Purple did their final encore, the crowd, myself included, were screaming for Rory to come back out. Sure enough, he did, and they blew the roof off of the place!! Almost 50 years later I've never forgotten it!!!
There will never be anybody like him, he was and still is the greatest blues guitarist that ever graced our planet. ❤❤❤
Your favorite Rory Gallagher song is always the last one you just heard!!! Ha!Ha!
I love people that love Rory !
And we love you 🇨🇮🇺🇸❤️
One reason this film & LP are legendary is that Rory came to play in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the height of “the Troubles” when violence was at its worst. The city was basically under lockdown at night, and no buses after 8pm. Every other major act of the time were afraid to play there, and either canceled shows or just didn’t book any.
Rory, however, had been a regular for his entire career and was insistent on playing Belfast, knowing that the fans desperately needed the lift. The context of the times, plus his amazing performances, made this probably his finest hour. Listen to the entire “Irish Tour 74” LP - it’s a blast from start to finish!
He will never leave us 🎸🇨🇮❤️
Rory had a couple of different configurations of his group. The bassist was with him for 20 yrs. This particular configuration played on these tours for Irish kids in auditoriums which he loved. He was their star, their hero and he made sure that everybody could afford to attend these concerts in his homeland. It was never about the money for Rory, it was about the purity of playing the blues and whenever he could perform for those in Ireland that adored him, he made sure to put on a show.
This, sadly, is just the end of the song. You need to get hold of the original album or CD.
My old friend Rory was the kindest nicest politest man ever. I saw him 38 times, played his guitar and miss him every day. 🎸🎸😢😢
Live In Europe great Album! We’re but a tiny island, but boy do we produce some musical talent!
🇮🇪 👍☘️
Rory Gallagher always seems to be a forgotten blues guitarist and I have no idea why - he was awesome! Glad to see the younger generation appreciating his talent.
Miss his music, this brings back memories
RIP master
First concert I ever attended, Rory Gallagher first, then Robin Trower, then Jethro Tull, Shea Stadium in NY, Summer 1976. I didn't know who he was at the time but loved his music ever since....RIP Rory, one of the greatest of all time.
That was one hell of a great lineup! That must have been awesome!
Simply the best
The Irish Wizard in full gear, he played through his heart and soul. My mentor of the Fender Strat.
Rory Gallagher is for me the greatest guitarist ever no one like
That's glorious! As you said, Rory put his heart and soul into the guitar. We're lucky to be able to see that on film. I enjoyed the reaction.
FINALLY!
Somebody doing a reaction to
RORY F'n GALLAGHER!!!!
😁🤟🏽🎸🎶🎸🤟🏽😁
I've raved about Rory on here many times. So i'll just settle for saying I'm so glad you found him and that you're enjoying the journey. Nice one Pope!
Thank you so much! Rory was such a force of nature on stage and there is literally no one who could match his passion channeled through his instruments.
Thank you for more Rory. This performance of Walk on Hot Coals shows why Rory was the best of the best. Period. Unfortunately in order to hear the entire song you need to listen to the audio from the album "Irish Tour '74". This is from the Irish Tour '74 movie by Tony Palmer. He begins the movie with it and literally comes in half way through the song during an amazing solo, so you really are missing a spectacular performance. There are words to this song. Please, please, please react or just listen to the full song on your own, it really is a must. Otherwise, If you want to see a complete live version then I recommend Walk On Hot Coals from the Madrid show - it's amazing. Thanks again, and keep on...
They also seem to have done a cut about halfway through the solo at the point where they switch to him in in the car. They've then spliced in another solo part from a different performance. It's a mess.
This seems to be most of the second half of the album version with the end of another performance bolted onto it.
Walk on hot coals (Old Grey Whistle Test)
I love how his guitar player face is a smile. When he really digs in he just smiles.
Who turns down an offer to join the Rolling Stones? Rory had the best band and the best guitar. No one compares to Rory Gallagher. Love that '61 Strat. RIP Rory. You set the bar.
Absolutely!! No one like him!!!!
He was also considered to replace Blackmore in deep purple, and was considered to replace Clapton in cream before they decided to break up
Could you imagine Rory taking orders from Jagger and Richards, thank God he did his Japan tour. So many people wanted him, he stayed in the right place doing his own music.
Another guitarist who like Rory turned down an offer from the Stones was Roy Buchanan they were to good to be handcuffed to any band
His brother says he didn’t actually turn them down. After a couple of days in the studio (where they were working “Keith hours”) he asked Mick what the score was, because he had a Japan tour to do and Mick said he wanted him but he had to get the nod from Keith, who was sparko upstairs and they couldn’t wake him up, so Rory left for the Japan tour and that was the end of that. Thank goodness.
They were trying to turn him into the next big thing, but he wouldn't really play the game. So in some senses he's the forgotten guitar god. But there are endless big names lining up to praise him.
This was the first Rory Gallagher song I ever heard and I said to myself "who is this guy and how is it possible I had never heard of him!" I have be a Rory disciple ever since.
Same here. Some songs strike a chord (no pun) with you forever. This is one of them.
I recommend Bullfrog Blues! They all do some jamming! Saw Rory years ago in Detroit. One of best concerts ever!
Rory probably lost 10 pounds of water weight every live show from sweating....what a showman!
I think the greatest guitarist ever
Great choice....Bloody footage comes in after the singing part though. Still, Peak Rory. He was relentless....an unstoppable force in the mid-70's. Had a great band.....and was touring his best album Blueprint here, IMO. Do the studio version of his last hit song Loanshark Blues.....he was still firing! Such a shame those prescribed Meds, for his non-life-threatening illness, took him out.
So cool to have youngsters taking the opportunity to listen to some music that might not necessarily be on the radar. 🎶🤘👊
Rory was from my county in Ireland.RIP
Cork
Gotta listen to the full version. The lyrics are brilliant...I love to kick this one around when I play, just for fun. Saw Rory many times over 20 years or so - a force to be reckoned with live.
Oh shit Rory I can't believe there is a reaction video for him. I've not met but one person who knows who this guy is. I love this guy check more of his stuff out. lol
My favorite of all time
Rod DeAth was the drummer and he really played well on Walk on Hot Coals. I saw Rory many times and he always gave it his all. Fantastic guitarist he never courted the limelight, he just wanted to play. If Rory embraced the commercial side of the business he’d have sold hundreds of millions of records. The fact that he has sold 32 million without any marketing or commercial input speaks for itself. He was the greatest.
Not many with the musical IQ to be reacting to Rory G, big up to ya!
That’s just the second half of the song ~ the words are in the first half. Love the way you’re enjoying it
I used to ski in the mountains and listen to Rory , before I got on the lifts. It helped me get the adrenaline to ski better than I would otherwise.
I've seen him one of the greats
Legend !!!
Rory forever!
Cosmic!
Rory g, revived the blues. Eric Clapton credits rorys music for getting him back into it.
Would've been nice if he could have given some of that acknowledgement when Rory was still alive.
DEEP TRACKS. You are killing it Rock Warrior.
Thank you Pope!
Alan White the great drummer of YES the greatest Prog Rock band in History has died....R.I.P. You may want to react to some of his drumming work of art
I love how Rory encourages the lads in the band , it's brilliant !!
For your next Rory reaction video, would you please consider 'Do you read me' rock goes to college 1979. This may be his most incredible performance ever - Thanx
Wow massive.
You've stumbled on to the Best... If I may : "Hell Cat" live "Tattoo'd Lady" live off of Notes From San Francisco "I Wonder Who" live at My Father's Place... Thanks A Million
the best guitarplayer in the world according to Jimi Hendrx. :)
one of the Best RORY GALLAGHER !!!!!!!Saw him open for Rush in Toledo Ohio RIP Brother my Irish Legend
Awesome guitar playing...major chill out
I like your reaction to Rorys music, you even pronounced his name correctly
good taste my man.
This was really what Rory loved, playing before his young countrymen in Northern Ireland and setting it up so any of these kids could afford to see him every now and then. He loved these poor Irish kids to death and they thought he was the reason that they could feel proud of one of their own. He lived during his heyday in Cork Ireland and traveled to Europe to play for fans there. He was afraid of flying so he never came to America of if he did it was rare. Mostly he just played the great concerts in Europe during the age of Rock and Roll and he reveled in showing people how real raw blues should be played. Like his countryman, Gary Moore, his heart was always in Ireland doing what God put him on this earth to do. I discovered his music when I was in college in the early 70's and went on to own 3 record stores, so I would play his music in the shop and people would wander over and want to know who the heck was playing that guitar. I still listen to his stuff today and of courst I am old. Rory died in his 50's, I think in London. You might get the Bullfrog Blues done at the Old Whistlestop venue I think in Germany. Nobody quite like him.
Great reaction ❤
He had a few different drummers, all great
Check out "what going on" by Taste live at the isle of wight. Rory's first band. It is here on youtube.

Rory Gallagher - Do You Read Me (Rock Goes To College, 1979)
Enjoy your journey
That's an awesome performance.
Another awesome reaction video.
Here is something rare. Rory's first group was called Taste. He played at the Isle of Weight concert back in the early 70's with all the biggest Rock Bands in the world back then. That album is so rare and unique in it's content that people thought there was gonna be another Eric Clapton and Cream, but Rory decided to change totally and become a blued purest and mostly play in Ireland a lot and in England and the European continent. He was straight blues, not for the money, not for the fame, but just knowing his special talent was what God put him on earth for. He was surely one of the best guitarist of all time and died in his 50's in London. Check out some of his Montreux Jazz Festivals performances. They are recorded. I know I had some video's of these rare concerts in Europe. Rory was a bad ass guitar player and loved doing it.
His early band was called Taste
Listen from the start
Man i love your reaction. Love from
Another great video of the GOAT. Suggestion: Can you please fix your audio, we can barely hear you speak, maybe move microphone closer or something - thanks
All that with just a 1960 something fender, a VOX ac30 amp and a treble booster. Dunno magician.
This version appears to be cobbled together from several different performances as it varies greatly from the album cut towards the end. also the beginning of the song is missing.
My bad the song was Hot Stones by Savroy Brown
Suggest Bull Frog Blues it’s FIRE LIVE….
The one thing about this movie version is it starts from middle of song. Better version is Walk on Hot Coals/Live in Spain it's black n white but its entire song
WTH man!!! That was just the end of the song !
Check out john mclaughlin and the mahavishnu orchestra talk about a fusion of styles. Robert Fripp from King Crimson is another. 21st Century Schitzoid man lol
POPE...if you haven't already, please check out "Gary Moore" on guitar, right up there with Mr. Gallagher...peace

He even dallied with jazz at one point and took on saxophone. Not really his weapon of choice though.
Walk on hot coals, sleep on w bed of nails
Roy buchanan turned down the rolling stones too.
I heard this before but by Savory Brown try there version they are good as well, Ken Simmons as the lead you will like it
Turned down the Stoners after Taylor walked. Good decision. The rock n roll traitors weren't his thing.
🕊🥰😘Fantastic🔥! * Now my core is burning indeed, but I'm SEXTINDER.Uno not sure if the girls would have been equally excited of my performance like they were of Mel's😉!❤ And it's soo funny to see how much these overly playfulr girls actually kept of your attention 🤩
