      @@DentistrywithDerik Contrary now to what I originally thought, more damage damage had been done to the teeth from apparently bruxism that I may have inherited from my father(he only just recently revealed to me wear marks on his teeth).
      I had an orthodontist 5 years ago surprised(much to my shock as well) reveal to me that I had enamel wear....yet....he did not help to suggest reasons why like bruxism...instead I was left to assume it was from food, but after looking closely(5 years later...) I noticed wear marks that fit like puzzles and referring to my dad's teeth I concluded to myself that I have bruxism. I've heard about it before but did not know that it happened at a slow gradual pace and even had to refer to a photo of myself showing my teeth before to help confirm.
      I just hate those d*mb ethically Asian dentists that my parents selected(they even neglected a cavity that lead to a root canal one time). Getting these dentists was my parents' mistake.
      In this case not one of our dentist diagnose me with bruxism, I diagnosed myself...
      If I have kids I'll be first be careful to select a dentist we can trust, while as a precaution teach them to carefully monitor their teeth and give them the option of night guards whetehr they know they have bruxism or not.

      @@acspectator8636 You are correct: many oral health professionals neglect to identify the signs and symptoms of bruxism (bad bite). I will be making a video on the subject soon. :)

    Hey I am having recession in my front lower gums because of tartar on the inside, I recently had it removed but I have questions that I think are affecting my gums... Is it fine to gargle after eating anything to remove the particles in mouth?
    And is it fine to eat sugar free chewing gum after every meal to lower the chances of plaque??

    • @DentistrywithDerik
      @DentistrywithDerik  3 года назад +1

      Hi Seven! Thanks for the question - this will make a great video topic :)
      The most effective way to keep new tartar off your lower front teeth is to use a thicker floss and use it to gently wipe the sides of your teeth. Gargling is not going to necessarily help with the tartar, but swishing with water or a non-alcohol based rinse can be helpful for minimizing plaque. Does that answer your question?

    • @SEVEN.
      @SEVEN. 3 года назад +1

      @@DentistrywithDerik yes I meant swishing, not exactly gargle. And tho I got to know about flossing after having tartar already build up, but now I am going to take as much care of my mouth as I can. Thank you so much for your response. It would be great if you make a video on this topic :)

      Hi Gulu! I am practicing dental hygienist (not a dentist). The situation you are describing (pain and swelling) is indicative of a serious infection -- if you have not already, you should seek an emergency dentist or go to a hospital emergency room for evaluation immediately. Dental abscesses are serious and can be life-threatening if not treated with correct antibiotics and removal of the infected tissue.

    Hello sir
    I have bad breathe problem even after brushing 2 times daily and use of mouthwash.
    I hv also done professional cleaning.
    Plz guide about possible reason and treatment.

    • @DentistrywithDerik
      @DentistrywithDerik  2 года назад

      Hi Avishkar! I'm glad you sought professional care. Bad breath can be from a number of issues: tonsil stones, post-nasal drip, gum disease...but the most common reason is from not thoroughly brushing (and flossing!) twice daily. You mentioned brushing twice daily, but are you also flossing? My next video will be on flossing and its importance, if you aren't correctly flossing between your teeth before brushing you may be leaving debris between your teeth that is creating the bad smells.

      Then use a Miswak also called Siwak
      I guarantee that it's use will remove bad breath for sure
