Interesting. I’d been using sonicare for 20 years and recently got an oral b at my hygienist’s recommendation. I have very crooked teeth and I felt like it did a better job of hugging every side of each individual tooth. Hearing what you say, I may continue to use both toothbrushes, one am one pm. When using the oral b I’ll try to avoid the gum area. I water floss each time as well so that should do the trick?

Conflicting messages and I think because it's a commercial thing. My dentist recommended me to buy the Sonicare 4300 and I must say, what a Great brush. Have been using the Oral B for decades and always sensitive and bleeding gums. I've been using the Sonicare for about two months and my gums don't bleed anymore and the pain is gone. And I like the brushing mode of the Sonicare much more. The feeling of clean teeth is more noticable.

I love Love LOVE my Sonicare! I certainly wish I had one prior to abusing my gums with improper brushing technique. "Brushing teeth is NOT sawing logs!" With the damage done, however, my Sonicare has kept me from exacerbating the issue and my RELIGIOUS use of a fluoride mouthwash has kept me from having any problems with sensitive teeth.

And I kinda snap a lot in few places where my teeth are tight and my teeth on the snapped area are kinda shaky when I push it with my tongue. But no bleeding at all. @@DentistrywithDerik I had what may have been an abscess last friday on my upper gum. It was a white spot and the gums looked a little inflamed around it. I was recommended to do a saltwater rinse a couple of times a day. By saturday I started to see improvement. By sunday it was completely gone. I haven't had those in a long time, so I was surprised to see it. I'm a perio patient so I go to the dentist every three months instead of six. I normally don't use mouthwashes so will using a mouthwash prevent them from happening again? I read that saltwater rinse maintains a neutral pH in the mouth, which is less hospitable for harmful bacteria. Obviously, I don't want to keep using saltwater so is something like closys silver mouthwash just as good??

I am not understanding this. Why is the pH of something you swish around in your mouth for thirty seconds relevant at all? What is the baseline pH of your mouth, and how long will the duration of the pH change within your mouth after use of a mouthwash be? What about the pH of food and drinks? How would the significance of a low pH mouthwash compare to basic eating and drinking throughout the day? Should people not consume citrus fruits whatsoever?

Apple Cider Vinegar mouthwash works!! I have had chronic toothache and gum problem with my upper molar tooth. I've tried all sorts and even Listerine cool mint. I understand it kills many 'nasty' germs. But it didn't work. I've been very quickly told by a periodentist that I must have deep cleaning, and having listened to your videos, I was apprehensive about the diagnosis and treatment so speedily offered. I'm glad I stood back and reviewed my situation. However, I made one major discovery that many don't mention and that is the APPLE CIDER VINEGAR mouthwash. I had reasoned that this was unsuitable due to its acidity and potential damage, but upon further exploration, I found it is doable and ok if used cautiously. I know it works on aggressive external skin conditions, and chronic ones, in my case it was a game changer. So I took this idea and CAREFULLY applied using an APPLE CIDER VINEGAR (APC) MOUTHWASH. It has made a very quick and effective result, and it is a huge result for me. No gum irritation, huge subsided pain. I have since discovered that APC kills Porphyromonas gingivalis, and this is vile and nasty thing that causes tooth gum / decay and is hard to destroy. So I thought I would share this as I wouldn't want anyone to have the horror of longstanding and desperate irritation day and night. Making APC mouthwash is very easy and there is lots of info on the internet.
