    I still remember the announcer's call - "Hello YE Yang, my name is Tiger Woods" after he stuffed his approach on the 1st hole, it was all matter of how many shots he wins by. Biggest "aged like milk" moment ever. That missed putt basically set the tone for the entire day where he made absolutely nothing on the green.

    One of those days when your putter completely betrays you. It’s amazing that this was the only Major he lost having the lead going into the 4th round. He was able to summon the goods every time, however unlikely, except on this day. My favorite player, Rory, has been betrayed by his putter for nearly a decade.

    Tiger still had his image and aura during this tournament. Y.E. Yang went toe-to-toe and didn't back down. Hard to do!

    The effort to redefine golf to stop Tiger's greatness accumulated here.
    The courses were longer.
    The ruff was deeper.
    The distractions were magnified.
    Watching him navigate this minefield was priceless.
    Thank you GOAT.

    With today's focus on power, I wonder how far Tiger would have hit the ball had he embraced modern speed training. Back in 1997, during the week he won the masters, he averaged 323yds off the tee. Now that was with a 250cc 43.5" steel-shafted driver and a Titleist Professional 100 golf ball. Modern equipment would carry the ball about 30 yds more with the same input. Incidentally, Bryson averaged the same length off the tee in 2020. Think about that!

      I'd be so bold as to say this: he tainted the game...by making it celebrated for power rather than its original renown of a game of finesse.

    • @Unvaccinated69
      @Unvaccinated69 8 месяцев назад +5

      @kenadvocate nah tiger had more skill.and finesse than everybody. He was just great at everything. Did what Greg Norman couldn't do. He hit it better than anybody else but his short game and mind were as strong as anybody. Great finisher. The GOAT in my opinion.

    That was one horrid round of golf. His old dip & flip fast turn swing got him in a lot of trouble. He was used to hitting a lot of bad shots with that swing but could always scramble his way out of it but not this time.
