12:01 Reminder about how the draft order works. A team being eliminated in the second round will be in the same draft position as if the team was eliminated in the first round. 1-16: Teams that missed the playoffs 17-24ish: Teams that lost in either the first or second round but did not win their division in the regular season 25ish-28: Teams that lost in either the first or second round and won their division in the regular season 29-30: Conference finals losers 31: Cup loser 32: Cup winner The reason it's "24ish" is because we don't know how many teams will make the conference final that won their division in the regular season. If none of them make it, their picks would be 25-28. If all of them make it, the nondivision winners would go all the way to 28.
I really REALLY hope we get Schaeffer. We’ll have a #1 star on offense and on defense. Then it’ll feel like we are set to start steadily winning from that point on.
@@scottnathan2912every goalie has a bad game here and there. Wouldn’t worry about Askarov. Besides Schaefer I believe Sharks need another defenseman preferably a right handed defenseman. Trading the Stars’ 1st rounder and minor prospect or later draft pick for Nemec would be awesome.
Do you think this will lead to Smith going back to Center? I think Misa would be a great 2C behind Celebrini, and everyone says he's the most Celebrini-like of the players in the draft. Hagens is more like Smith in the playmaking and less two way style.
Players like Granlund always bring back first rounders.....🤣 I would have been disappointed as hell to not get a first for him. Do you not remember us getting a 1st rounder for Barkley Goodrow? Teams who are trying to win don't put a lot of value on those picks in the first round that will be 24 or below. They are playing for now. Also teams that are just trying to make the playoffs and have been rebuilding for a while, they will part with that 1st rounder as well. Edit: also, if they do win the lottery this year, Mike better get his butt in gear and make sure it doesn't accidentally happen again. Because, if they win the lottery again, they are not eligible for the first overall pick for another 4 or 5 years......👍
Are we thinking Bordy at 2C for the remainder of the year? He’s 23, and 3 years older than Bystedt. His prime will be coming up in 2-3 years here…. So I believe you need to give him the games for the rest of the year to see what u have in an asset, and if he fits with the core. I’ve vlog b4 that I think he can be a 2C on this team, if given the opportunity!! 🎉❤
Why is everyone so high on Schaefer? I don’t see it. He’s good but first overall? I expect Hedman or Makar level skill to go first overall. Would much rather get someone like Martone and add elite scoring and size to our top 6 than draft someone that’s not the best player available just because D is our biggest weakness. We can draft a solid defensemen with our second first rounder.
schaffer is the consensus top guy not not just top d. also martone has big questions about his offense transitioning to the nhl. likely goes 4th or even 5th behind misa hagens and maybe eklund frondell or mcqueen
I really love your commentary on this. I’ve been sleeping on my magic formula for a Stanley 🏆 and wondering myself if I’m underestimating the power forward scoring guy a bit. Are they like the offensive lineman in NFL? They don’t get the praise of a quarterback a la 2-way Centerman! If u saw Schaefer in the WJC before injury he was so dynamic like a Drew Daughty kinda player! I think the mix of players is interesting so I feel like if u get #1 overall you can’t go Martone. I like Schaefer/Misa/Martone in that order most for our team. After seeing how much more assertive & confident Schaefer was over Dickinson to me he’s the obvious #1 choice. Misa plays with Chernyshov, and I thought Martone had a huge goal /tipped in front of the net. I agree with you, he’s underrated. Maybe the Ducks knew this last year going with Sennecke a big Tage Thompson-like guy at #3 last year! Power forwards might be more valuable than we realize, especially in big playoff games!!!! 👍
If they don't go Schaefer then they have to go Misa or Hagens. We already have two Martones with Musty and Chernyshov. You can never have too much center depth.
That EK trade tree looking very nice.
Great trade!! Still willing to sign Granlund again this summer.
Can we turn that Dal 1st rd pick and Ferraro (or similar) into Nemec now?!
I hope so, he’s the best RD that we can get. Otherwise, we might have to hope for Blake Fiddler in the draft
@ Would be *sweet* to add Schaefer AND Nemec to the team in one off-season

And goalie!
@ true, Askarov is our best goalie prospect in franchise history so far, on paper!
He just need to stop giving up easy goals. His last game was not his best, for putting his game on display.
@@scottnathan2912I don’t disagree but we allow the most shots on goal in the league, we need some D in front of him

Big news! Can't believe they got a 1st for granny. Hope him the best.
Nice trade Mike Greer! He is making all the right moves. Shore up the defense and get a good 2C and the Sharks will be on the upswing.
Number 1 pick getting Matthew because fan getting excited
I kinda hope Sharks and Granlund have a handshake agreement on, like, 3 years at 6M.
If they don't win the lottery and can't get Schaefer, who is the next best option? My sneaky pick is Misa over the other 2 guys
Same right now
Misa!
I smell a Bystedt call-up while Wennberg is injured/out rehabbed

Mario Ferraro next?

I get why but I still hate to see granlund go. Ceci was kind of disappointing
Return of the tank commander? 😂

i mean it comes down to july 1st...if stars resign granlund they won the trade...if they dont resign granlund 1st july sharks won the trade
not sure i agree with your top 4 in the west bro...dont forget about the oilers
Central Division is brutal and whoever comes out of there will have earned it.
We could trade the Dallas 1st Rd to devils for that one D prospect

What makes Schaefer stand out as the top guy? No way Martone falls out of the top 4 imo but I’d take Misa or Hagens over Schaefer as well.

Schaefer is a game-controlling #1 Dman and many scouts now have him at #1…
