Ha, it's crazy how far PS3 emulation has come.. You've got to understand, there was a time where it was said that it would not be possible to emulate it.. And this wasn't that long ago ... The architecture of the system is complicated and sometimes nonsensical, and it was considered all but impossible to emulate..
I know, right? The same was said for PS4, too. It's certainly in its infancy, but maybe, one day, as our PC hardware evolves for more power, it'll be as mainstream. Can't wait!

I know not all my PS3 games will work, but thanks for making this video. I hope to see a fully working PS4 and PS5 emulator one day.
Hopefully ps4 and ps5 emulation is less complicated where they're x86 machines.

Thank you! I think that'd be done through the "Game Patches" part of the vid. The sample games I used didn't have any updates, although Iron Evolution did download some additional install files when I launched the game for the first time. It does the same on a genuine PS3.

Thank you! It's a murky water to nagivate, that Switch modding video on RUclips think. Someone at RUclips set that last video to "Private" without any explanation nor notifying me of the change. I just ended up deleting it for now to keep the peace.

Thanks for the heads-up! Will absolutely dig into it. I've tried it on 11.17 OFW on at least the New 3DS XL and it worked as expected. Definitely will do some testing on both Old and New models and see how it goes.

Glad the video helped! The emu is limited to PS3 games. However, there's PCSX2 for PS2 games and DuckStation for PS1 games, and both are great.

Hmm I don't understand I did everything to the tee with latest version tried changing settings but I get a bunch of red dots or artifacts when playing dante's inferno and splinter cell collection. Also see them in the Playstation user interface in some areas. I went and downloaded and installed build 0.0.25-14358 dated 470 days ago (2022-11-01) and the artifacts in the games goes away. Thanks your tutorial was very helpful and easy to follow. Just couldn't get rid of those dots in latest version. 🤷♂

@@wargames-mb2gu Thanks, I figured it out for the latest builds couple weeks ago. I had to set the shader quality to low under GPU setting and the artifacts went away. Everything is now crystal clear and smooth. Already completed Daunte's Inferno!

Thanks for your kind words! I think .iso files work really well for playing backups. I actually made my own by dumping physical discs with multiMAN. However, the .iso files you're looking for are out there. :)

Not at all. You can pick the "X-Input" setting in RPCS3 instead of "DualShock 3" and you'll be good to go.

OK, I guess it'll still work for various controllers, you just have to change it from dualshock in one of the inputs
had 2 quick questions. 1- can i sign in to my actual psn on this emulator and earn trophies without getting my account banned? 2- is there a way to jailbreak a ps3 and earn ps3 trophies with your main account without risking an account ban?
You’re better off using PS3 hen for trophies… back up your games on the PS3 and play offline get whatever trophies and when ever you want too upload you can sign in and upload the trophies just make sure you are using your psn Account offline.

You need a pretty modern 6 core PC to run it decently though, by the looks of it.
Yea, it takes quite a powerful computer to play it decently.
That's why having a hen or cfw PS3 and a lot of storage to play PS3.

@@Mangomesh yea, and a console usually does better then emulation. Which for example there's a N64 game that's difficult to emulate and the games name is stunt racer 64. The N64 is able to play that one better then any emulator.
What files would I need in order to use a Ps4 controller instead?
You can just play with it wired or use Bluetooth. You don’t need any files to use a ps4 controller

One thing I forgot to add is that you may or may not need to setup the buttons unless you press default button option so it sets the buttons correctly for you.

I'm using a Minisforum HX99G with AMD Ryzen 9 6900, 6650 dGPU, 64GB DDR5 RAM, NVMe Gen 4 SSD. It'll run great on much lower specced PCs also, though.
