Hello everyone and welcome on in. I decided to make a simple and easy video how to setup RPCS3 on a Windows based Desktop or Laptop computer and how to back up your personal PS3 Blu-ray discs. Preserve your ps3 physical media.

that was great! thanks for being so thorough and explaining it in simple terms. I have a ps4 and since their online multiplayer servers for Little Big Planet 3 may be off permanently, Im trying to play it on PC. I dont know if it will work as I dont want to get a ps5 to have to do it.

I did hear about the littlebigplanet 3 servers may be going offline for PS4 version of the game. It is always a bummer to hear when that happens. As far as i know the revival group called "beacon" has revived the online functionality for littlebigplanet games 1, 2, and 3.

From the RPCS3 Discord Community this is a solution:
If you experience an error about vulkan-1.dll being missing, or there is no Vulkan renderer in the settings, or you don't see emulator window at all, then you have broken video driver entries in your system.
To fix this:
1. Make sure you have the latest video drivers installed
2. Download vkDiag tool from GitHub: github.com/13xforever/vkdiag/releases/tag/v1.3.3
3. Run the tool to check and fix potential issues, and post the results

Dang that is a bummer. Did you try and download the specific Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable? Maybe that will help open up the application.
will the rpcs3 still work without needing a ps3 console? like do i only need the roms? mine already broke years ago and i'm planning on getting back into gaming.
Hey there and thanks for watching and your question. RPCS3 works without the need of a ps3 console. I personally stil have a ps3 and sometimes use it to help backup my games with the program/homebrew app called multiman. If you have compatible blu-ray drive for your PC you can rip your own game backups. rpcs3.net/quickstart check this site and scroll near the bottom for a list of compatible blu-ray drives if you are interested.

Hi there and thanks for your question. You may want to hit up the RPCS3 Discord Help section as I have not personally run into that issue. Just from a quick research you would want to to run what is called the "vkdiage tool" from github and download the "VkDiag.exe"

Hey there and thanks for watching. You can use package files but I personally did not cover that. I personally use my own blu-ray backups as that was the easiest for me.

Glad to help! RPCS3 is an awesome emulator. Quite surprised how far the development has come along. There is also quite a good list of games that do work online as well via RPCN (RPCS3's emulated servers)
I followed along with the video and after closing the RPCS3 app then opening it back up again the PPU modules compiled once again. Is that normal?
I personally didn't run into the PPU modules compiling until playing a game. It will do that each time when loading a game but I personally have not had it happen just when launching RPCS3. It could be something hardware related as each computer may vary in components. As long it is not affecting your gameplay I wouldn't worry about it.
I would not recommend changing your graphic settings like that, but rather on a per game config. That way you don't break other games or always fiddling with settings.
In hindsight I I wish I had shown per game basis. Great suggestion and thanks for sharing.
Hi, Does RPCS3 support external HDD?, I want to install a backup of my ps3 in the RPCS3
Hi there. You can use external hdd to load up ps3 titles if you have them there. However, installing a backup of your PS3 for plug and play purposes as far as I know is not supported. If you have HEN or custom firmware installed you could file transfer your games, game saves, and other data to your pc. There is more nuance involved, but it can be mostly done.

However, I'm on Windows 10 and it didn't have any trouble detecting. May want to hit up the RPCS3 discord as there is a wealth of great knowledge there! discord.gg/rpcs3

@@JustMyHonestOpinion I use to play the heck out of NCAA Football on PS2/Xbox era. Such a great series and the games built back then are so featured and gameplay packed. I lost confidence in sports games in the early 2010's sadly.

It’s saying it cant proceeded because Vulkan-1.dll was not found. Reinstalling it does nothing.
Hi there. Have you tried using the Vkdiag executable from github? Some folks on the RPCS3 discord found it to be helpful in the similar problem. github.com/13xforever/vkdiag/releases/tag/v1.3.5
Every time I try to launch rpcs3.exe It just appeares in task manager and than It closes .
Do you know if you are downloading the latest version? rpcs3.net/download
Sometimes new build updates can have a slight regression and then it is quickly fixed with another update.

@@krishnamali4468 Darn that is abummer. Do you happen to have anyother antivirus software besides windows defender? I know some folks had an issue where Avast, Norton, or another piece of software would cause this issue.

Mine says Qt6core .dll , Qt6widgets .dll and Qt6concurrents.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem
That is quite odd. Did you happen to extract all of RPCS3 needed files from the download? I would double check and make sure you are extracting each file!

Hi there. To answer your question it would be best to share your RPCS3 log in the RPCS3 Discord. Have it analyzed and hopefully the automated analysis can suggest a fix. I personally have not had this issue. Discord can be found here: discord.gg/rpcs3

Yup put those download links incase others don't have the proper install files. Sometimes you can just get away with installing RPCS3 and the firmware and be done with it.

Did you happen to download the needed Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable? That might be a good start if you have not already.
Also make sure you downloaded RPCS3 to location on your computer and not to a cloud drive/network location.

Can I use a jailbroken CFW instead of Sony's OFW?
Hi there and thanks for watching. I would personally stick with official Sony firmware, but I know some folks have tested Evilnat 4.90 and it worked okay. Not sure how evilnat's custom firmware 4.91 runs or the specific benefits.

Hey there. You can also use a PS3 that has custom firmware or HEN. This allows users to homebrew to rip your personal backups. The app on my PS3 I use is called multi-man.

How do I fix no available software After trying to add a game I’ve extracted it into a ps3 game folder but when I try add it the folder appears empty
Hi there and thanks for watching and your question. How did your backup for PS3 game? Do you have a compatible blu-ray computer drive? Did you use the ps3 disc dumper tool?
I know when I have personally dumped my own game with ps3 disc dumper it will create a folder of the name of the game I backed up. In the video I backed up Arham Origins, and the folder structure will be something like "Batman_ Arkham Origins [BLUS31147]" Then inside that folder it will show folders "PS3_Game" "PS3_Update". I would double check your game backup.

@@les3man940 sup bro,download the iso you want right click it and open with explorer you will then be given 3 folders drag those to a completely new folder called whatever your game is and you should be good 👍

Another suggestion is try this below:
" To update your current install of RPCS3 to the latest version:
Download the latest version from here: rpcs3.net/download
Extract all files from the archive to your current RPCS3 install folder.
When asked, confirm that you want to replace all files.
Don't worry all your settings, installed games, and save data will not be touched."

@@VirtualBacon_-_ Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. I wonder if you may some program that could be interfering from it launching correctly. Personally I would create a new RPCS3 folder and then download/extract to the new RPCS3 folder and see if it launches.

I personally have not had this issue. Do you a RPCS3 log you can upload to the RPCS3 Discord? You can get it analyzed by the RPCS3 bot in the Discord. It may help finding the cause of the issue you are having. discord.gg/rpcs3

@@booms5810 I recall someone mentioning be sure to run on the latest drivers for your graphics and other computer parts. I saw that on the RPCS3 discord. One other idea is someone else mentioned try booting rpcs3 with no controller plugged in if you are using one.
I tried to open the RPCS3 file (app) and I got this "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk." what should I do?
Hi there and thanks for your question. On notice pop up click on "more info" and then you should be able to run/allow the application.
You likely also can whitelist/allow RPCS3 as an exception. I hope that will help your rpcs3 emulator setup!
