I think for us to make the next step 2 main things need to happen. We need to improve our bench massively through adding 4/5 more experienced club men who are performing well to give us more options of the bench, and we need to replace Ciaran meenagh, potentially with Malachy O’rourke. A new full squad with new options and a different voice at the helm will bring Sam home.

I like this series but the previous entries like how mayo, Tyrone or Armagh could win the all Ireland in 2023 could jinx poor derry😂 for next year also i wouldn’t agree with the derry Dublin Kerry angle galway had a back step absolutely in 2023 but were good in 2022 wouldn’t write them off either being in that top group
Derry’s minors won the all Ireland and their u20s got to an ulster final, the key is to transition as many of these lads over to the senior team over the next few years. To win Sam you either have Clifford/ Sean o Shea and hope they can fire you to to win it or you do what Dublin do and build a lot of depth in your team, Kilkenny, con and Costello had 0-1 between them in the final but it didn’t matter as mannion and paddy small scored 1-6 between themselves. Depth is the key and with the fact Derry already have a lot of u-25s playing senior plus the successful youth teams, Derry are in a great position to add into their team and have one of the strongest panels in Ireland.
I fear it will be Kerry Dubs back and forth over the next few years. Derry or Mayo might sneak into the odd final but that's it
