He scored 10+ league goals in the previous two seasons for his Slavia Prague from DM, so wasn’t a massive surprise at the time.
The best thing about the Coutinho loan was that Barcelona had to pay Liverpool an add-on fee when Bayern won the Champions League. The agreement was for Coutinho winning it as a Barcelona player and hadn't clarified that he won it for Barcelona. Absolutely priceless!
The Southampton 0 - 9 Leicester game was pre lockdown.

The day we flew home was the day Covid hit Europe.

They already knew something was happening though, Livorno airport is pretty tiny and it must’ve had 20+ armed guards on our way through. Fastest I’ve ever been through an airport. Could’ve turned up 20 mins before the flight.

It took another month for it to hit the UK hard.

Joelinton ended up getting fined £200 for going to a garage in North Shields for a haircut. The barber said he'd done the same for loads of players and told the press only Joe was an 'idiot' who put it on social media.
It's more complicated because it was a grey area (done for a photoshoot which was supposed to be allowed at the time he got caught, covid-secure operation with testing etc.) but still.

I'm a brighton fan and that Man U penalty after FT was ON MY BIRTHDAY - ive never known pain like it
People also seem to forget that we hit the post 5 times in that game, trossard alone hitting each of the posts and the bar. Then Solly march scored a 90th minute equaliser, only to be outdone by the penalty after full time. This game also included maupay scoring a panenka penalty, doing a crying celebration, only to then actually cry at the end after giving away the penalty at the very end. Which by the way maybe should never have been given, as it came from a man utd corner - but on closer inspection the ball never went out of play so shouldn't have been a corner. There was also Bruno after the game saying "the aim is to score goals not hit the posts", and lord Maguire scoring. Truly one of the games of all time.

I watched a match in the South Korean League. That is my abiding lockdown memory.
Also I think 8th placed Wycombe getting into the League One playoffs in the 2019-20 season on PPG and ultimately going up was a very surreal, pub quiz type eventuality. Especially as they benefitted from their game against top spot Coventry being postponed due to Coventry's FA Cup run !
Oh also they held the Johnstones Paint Trophy finals of 2019-20 and 2020-21 in the same weekend meaning Salford were holders of the trophy for all of 24 hours!

You know what, im tired of this revisionism of the history. Yes, United got a lot of penalties back then, but if you actually get off your high horse and rewatch the decisions, only 1 (believe it was againdt Villa) is actually questionable and the rest are legitimate penalties, whether you like it or not.
