Believe me, as an Irish man I can tell you that the vast vast majority of Irish people have no issues with our neighbours England..... Take a look at the people he asked (Very selective group) and he constantly prompted England as a suggestion when they hadn't given him the answer he clearly wanted.... He could have asked a thousand people and just put up the handful of answers saying England... That was clearly his objective from the start.... I've gone to England for lots of weekend trips as a kid with my family & as an adult with work/stags/weekend breaks...etc and have always had a great time. If the English visit Ireland, they'll be greeted with a "Céad míle fáilte" (Hundred Thousand welcomes), as we do with everyone else... What a silly video....!

@@stiofain88 Absolutely not, I'm not a Dub LOL, although I did live in Dublin for 15 years and think it's a great county... I'm a very proud Irishman and i'd be strong on protecting our Irish way of life & culture but don't feel the need to attack people especially if i don't even know them.. I'd rather judge people on their character but be strong on protecting our own way of life.... I seen big changes in Dublin over the years i've spent there and around the country in that time. We've bigger issues to worry about with illegal migrants being aloud to freely cross into europe and ireland plus this idiotic woke stuff indoctrinating the west with the sole purpose of destroying our great cultures and societies.... We shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves but instead, band together to protect the west as a whole..... Hope that clears things up for ya... Look after yourself...🤗
@@Markgeoghegan100 If you are from Ireland then why are you worrying about illegal immigrants? Once they get granted asylum what happens then? Almost every conversation
“Do you have a country you don’t like?”
“Er not real....”
“WHAT ABOUT ENGLAND??!!”
@Caden Patton Hamilton this is a fair point, I’m Scottish and fully accept and apologise for the part we played in the British empire and colonialism, we profited from it very much probably as much as England. I’m unsure if the British empire etc is a reason why people say they hate England and if it is then that’s rather silly as it was a long time ago (we don’t resent the Germans for what they done only 80 years ago). I think people draw their dislike for England because of the noisy arrogant part of their population that kind of feel they are the best and everyone else is beneath them, kind of similar reason as why a lot of people have a dislike for the United States, that would be my understanding as to why many people dislike the English which is a shame because the majority are the more silent welcoming and generally nice people 👍🏻 big love to Ireland from your Celtic cousins and again apologise for our part in history🏴🤝
England and English people are hated because they don't accept their dark past and instead glorify it.
They teach wrong history at their schools.
Germany and Germans are not hated because they accept their dark past.
They teach correct history at their schools.
As simple as that.
@@kanekiken2002 the thing is it wasn’t just England that had dark past, Scotland also played a crucial role in the British empire and benefited from it, I’m saying that as a Scot. We very rarely get taught about our role in the British empire and the blame always gets lumped onto the English. It was both England and Scotland and Scottish people do need to start realising we also done bad things in the past.
@@jackrussell3755 So realise about, learn about it, shove it in your brain.
@@kanekiken2002 How do we glorify our past? I was taught about the slave trade and the famine in school. Many people are taught about the empire not everyone learns about it nor do they learn of every single event of empire but alot of English people have a basic understanding. As a history buff you come to realise that people in general don't care about history nor do they take any responsibility. English people will indeed think it was terrible what the imperial British did but this whole "you need to take responsibility and blame for what your country did over a century ago" mentality is idiotic. Most English people couldn't vote till 1918, the vast majority of "Democratic countries" up until the early 20th century were ruled by a wealthy aristocratic elite not by the people.
The greatest trick Scotland ever pulled was convincing the Irish it was all England's fault.
Y do you say so, do you mind sharing your insights?
As a Greek who has the chance to meet a lot of foreigners due to the fact my business is in tourism and I'm planning on visiting Scotland and Ireland in the near future, I can say for a fact that Irish and Scots are wonderful people. It's not that I dislike the English folks, it's just that we get along better with Scots and Irish. Greek educational system is highly demanding and we're quite fond of History not only of Creece but other nations too. We are quite aware of the Gaelic language and the Celts in general, not to mention the fact but as victims of the Ottoman occupation, our heart always goes out to the nations who fought and struggled to maintain their identity and dignity. British colonization created trouble to our country as well in the past. We appreciate Irish and Scots greatly, and I'm happy that the feelings are mutual and always return this appreciation back to us. They are great lads.

Hearing the question the obvious answer would be North Korea. Its insane that such a country can exist in modern times. The more your learn about it the worst it gets. Makes 1984 look like utopia.
Although Korea was under Japanese rule for like 35 years, Ireland suffered English oppression and terror for about a thousand years so... Pls don't compare Ireland's situation and history with any other, not fair ; I'm from Brittany, another Celtic nation that fought (kind of, it's very complicated) for independance (from France), but ultimately failed, and it always pisses me off when independantists compare Brittany's History with Ireland's History because it's just not fair, the English were (and are) way worse than the French. The French only tried to genocide part of us once, and it was the 1st French republic (because we helped the anti-revolution revolts in Vendée) notorious for being disorganised but having a very capable military, kinda corrupted and INSANELY violent and cruel with its own people ; the English tried to genocide the Irish for about 400-500 years.

England basically ruled Ireland for a few centuries. As I recall, and ironically, it was the then Pope that asked them to invade. Ireland had a painful and tragic fight to win its independence. There's a lot of history there in the centuries of English rule, a lot of unhappy and painful history I think. That's all my impression - I am Scottish, I'm only a (probably poor) observer.

Why are you leading people into saying anti British stuff? As an Irish person, I have to say that I've never heard the people in the republic of Ireland saying they hate anyone, let alone the British. It's finished now. Ireland is a happily independent nation which does not fixate on the past like so many countries do. You can't move forward whilst looking back and Irish people are se sensible enough to know that. There is no place in irish communities for hatred. The faceless presenter who is neither British nor Irish, has brought his own prejudices to the table and tried to project them onto others. Move on, guys.
Absolutely agree!! You've said everything I feel. It's leading people by constantly mentioning the same country, its concerning that anyone would feel the need to.open up any discussion or ask a question to provoke someone to answer in such a way that is misleading. It is 2024 and still there's someone stirring up the juices, we had enough bloodshed and sorrows between England and Ireland, we are so fused together with our countries we should be proud of our new formed relationship why look for reasons to dislike, to hate, why can't we look for the good, the best in oneanother. Good answer Colm and nice to see that in this dumbed down age someone can still distinguish between a nations people and its establishment/government.
To be fair, the imperialism is the elites dragging their subjects into situations, as is usually the case. And its important to note that the English monarchy were largely descended from French Normans who invaded and subjugated England itself. Not to mention if you go further back in history the Irish themselves werent exactly peaceful people sticking to their own lands either. Scotland is named after the invading Scoti tribe from Ireland, and both the Scottish and Irish invaded England repeatedly in the Roman and post Roman times (Hadrians wall wasnt built for nothing), which lead to Saxon mercenaries being imported, which in turn ultimately lead to the Saxons full blown incursion into the UK which drove "celtic" languages and culture out of what would eventually become known as England. History is rarely a black and white thing.
Respect sir. Best answer so far.
