An in-box review of Dragon's PzKpfw Ausf H HJ Division Normandy 1944. Not as 'smart' a Smart Kit as the Ausf B I that just reviewed, but it comes with beautiful zimmerit modeled on and many vehicle arrangement options. I shall also be building this kit as part on my multi-vehicle diorama for Russ Gosselin's D-Day GB here on RUclips. Хобби
The HJ stood for "HitlerJugend" or Hitler Youth it was the 12th SS Panzer Division and was comprised of mostly 17 year old volunteers. They were led by a cadre of experienced NCO's many from the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler and officers from the Eastern front. Their baptism by fire was in Normandy around Caen fighting the Brits and the Canadians. They were mostly equipped with Pz.Kpfw IV's and a few Panthers. Another good review PM you are very thorough which I appreciate it will be nice to see what you do with this kit.
Ah ok yeah I was reading on that a couple of days ago but I didn't realize that's what HJ stood for. I can't wait to build this kt it looks like a wonderful build!
Kommandant from the turret number 635 was oberscharführer johann terdenge.the tank from: 12. .... pzdiv. "HJ".
Thats a very nice kit, I want one too,Im shure it will be a fantastic build thank you for the whats in the box.
Thanks bud, my pleasure for the review! Update vid on progress tomorrow!
nice review on the dragon kit can't wait to see your update.
Thanks bud, I'm staring it now I can't wait hehe
Mine is nearly done.. today I painted the road wheels and the tracks... probably will be done next weekend... :D I loved the kit!
Good luck on finishing it!
Thanks.. I will keep you up to date..Haha^^
Great review on a nice kit.
Thanks Gary :)
Lovely kit, I really like those dragon kits with Zimmerit. Very nice review! :)
So do I! Thanks for the comment Carlos! :D
You are welcome, that one should go together pretty fast I think! :)
Carlos Mendes Well with the DS tracks and minimal PE, yeah, it should be an easier build than my massively complex Panzer IV Ausf B. I'll be starting it ASAP! :)
Looking forward to watch the updates on the build! :)
The box art is based on a Panzer IV J knocked out in Normandy.
Nice Review!!
Thanks bud!
At least with the newer Dragon kits you don't have to build the multi-part roadwheel assemblies that was in their Auf D, and Vorpanzer kits. A little late to the party but thanks for posting.
Thanks for the comments :) Yeah the D and vorpanzers I think are actually "super kits" (but the D is boxed as a normal "smart kit") like the ausf B I got. Waaay to many pieces in those lol
I want this kit soooo bad
Good because it's an incredibly good kit. I started it yesterday and it's very nice! It's freakin expensive though... :)
Great review,
Thank you Brad :)
A tank model you should do a review on is the T-34. I don´t care which version you would choose but I now that Dragon has some good examples of T-34.
Yeah I built their SU-85M which shares a lot of bit with the T-34 and it was a fantastic build. I don't actually have any Dragon T-34s in my stash but I may buy one soon as there's some good deals at my LHC.
I know an T-34 model by Dragon I will get and which has great details and a metal barrel.
chippsdippen Go for it man, Dragon Smart Kits are the best for their priceline!
