    The NPCs were moving realistically, rushing you, working together but also taking some cover as needed.

    I did see a post the other day that someone was COMPLAINING about the AI being a lot more reactive. That guy was obviously pissed off that he couldn't just rush a bunker with no weapons anymore

    Planet side: I would expect that upon arrival the ship with the reinforcements would attack the enemy ships, then circle the perimeter, land and the reinforcements would jump out. Not that they're going to just hang there stupidly in the air again.

      In some cases they do land and NPCs come out, even before this patch.

      I would expect them to first land reinforcements and then circle perimeter and not attack an empty ship. It is game breaking for a solo player since he would be stranded when npc ship destroys his only exit (it makes sense RL but for a video game i would not instruct them to do that)

      @@thePrisoner1000 Im talking about AI and this 30FPS server showcase. Yes i saw them land, but i never saw them leave the ship. :) They were allways sitting ducks inside ship.

      @@sisthesis Always inspect the area from the air before landing. Every enemy ship is a possible fire support and therefore its destruction seems logical to me. Accordingly, you choose where to land and support units or land in the back of the enemy. Of course, CIG does not count on this and the landing area is predetermined. In addition, by destroying the ship, you will determine the further development of the fight and therefore the fact that the enemy will want to get out of the place with your ship. If someone doesn't fly for him.
      At night, for example, I'd like an enemy ship to take off again after dropping support and light up the area for its comrades. And you can blind an enemy with lights.
      There is nothing like that in SC. All the missions are straightforward, not tricky to the point of being silly.
      But of course I know over the years that CIG reality is different from real reality. :)
      From my point of view nothing is 100% in SC and I haven't seen anything 100% yet. Everything is at 50-60%. Just something, but altogether nothing.
      Let's try to think. They talk finally about night vision. Do you think CIG is considering something like flash grenades to cripple the NV? Or about stroboscopic flashlights, flares? I think not. It will come off like a sniper's glint. The kids will scream so they will think of something to make absolute nonsense out of it.

      @@Atheica-Atheismos true about the SC experience. 40-50% done. Other than that, i have to say, i went on missions, shot down the support ship or ships and went along landing and fighting on the ground. Some 10 minutes after, while still finding my way between enemies, another NPC ship came along, blasting mine away and leaving the area after patrolling for a few minutes. So, this brakes ultimately the experience by leaving you stranded at that particular spot. This happened at least twice to me! In regard to night vision , as most things related to SC, it’ll need a year or 2 until we know how it will work in the game 😀

    Just did a 10 fps server and they react same as in ur video. Looks like the ninetails are lots more agressive in 3.23. Even with a silencer in my FS9 they all come to me no matter what. I had to stay in the entrance and crawl in order to complete the basic "defend occupants" mission on NB. I am level 4 on all planets in 3.22.1, was maxed out before 3.20, thus i have thousands of bunkers done. IMO level 2 or higher bunkers wont be doable without a team mate. Solo will be very very difficult. Just my 2 cents.

      Generally 10 and above the NPCs work well.

    I really wish more would show this.
    It might change the common claim that AI are dumb, and get people to understand what the real issue is. An issue that CIG has been working on for quite some time.
    The server meshing tech is really impressive. Just need to polish it up a bit.
    But people will still find something to complain about. As your comment section shows.
    I have my complaints, but grateful to get what we have.

    That looked brilliant. Although i think those markers should not be turned on showing where the last guys are. Maybe its temporary till we get the pulse.

      @@danielekirylo I think they have that because sometimes the guys spawn in the walls, it saves you from running around for 10 minutes looking for an NPC you can never kill

    the NPC's and so on are very good and challenging, it is sadly always the server performance that lets the gameplay with AI look shitty but server meshing will hopefully do the magic trick

    As soon as that server FPS dipped to 2.8, hit with the reload bug. Damn, really shows the biggest setback to this game so far is server performance

      I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can turn all the hud markers and that kinda stuff off in the options. Or they plan to add those into the options so you can turn them off. I could be wrong though

      Ammo repooling is in 3.23 so all the Cod kiddys can reload to their hearts content now.. I'm going to hate watching FPS in the months to come

      @@jacobdoughty3528 you press button and your mags get repacked rather quickly, you don't sit there for 5min repacking your mags with ammo from other mags nope, you reload like a cod kiddy here and there shoot 3 bullet reload who cares press button all mags get filled with the bullets left over and bam 10 seconds later you have full mags and discarded empty mags.

    What does it take so we get those servers? Whenever i have the chance to get in a low pop server, i get the 30 fps server side. They tested in EPTU or EVO, some 3-4 weeks ago - that server meshing stuff where each planet and/or moon was on a different server. I never saw how many frames the servers had back then. Why not test it again in EPTU? Or implement t0 of that? Too expensive at this point?

      SM broke many parts of the game, whenever you leave a server all missions are lost for instance. It will take a while to have it on PTU

    Before 3.23 I was worried that CIG might not be able to deliver in the AI department. After seeing stuff like this, I know for a fact they have some incredible AI tech in the works. Now the only thing I'm hoping they can achieve at this high level is Server Performance and Server Meshing. Then the whole vision of SC can be realized!!

      My only complaint on these, at the moment, is the eliminate target markers. If the combat UI thing did that *upon you actually seeing them*, maybe. But this is just "Go here, shoot this guy" paint-by-numbers stuff :(

    Yeah I've never experienced this. Main reason I rarely play this game anymore. Takes longer to relog due to constant 30k and random server caused death than the actual playtime

    was on a 30fps server for a bit but Vulkan crashed before i could do anything... looks like 3.7-ish NPC. pushy af! hopefully silencers function.

    Also in space ships doors will open before you so smoothly with higher fps server. Now we just bump our nose into the doors. There are lots and lots of improvements with a higher server fps. The game codes are good, just bad servers...

    Shame we now have these easy mode yellow markers all over the area. It was better outside when the random NPC did not have the "eliminate" yellow markers. Does seem like the NPCs have god mode enabled. I guess you have a yellow marker following you around from their POV because they always seemed to know exactly where you were and had all guns on you very quickly.

    we need Utility armor cores with First aid or defibrulation packs
    bascially if you drop to 20% hp you get stimmed
    if you are knocked down you can revive without medical assistance 1x
    the whole medical gameplay is never going to work as intended unless there is a HUGE SATURATION of players and the way missions are accepted is FIRST TO RESPOND at SCENE. NOT first to grab the mission

    Sorry, what does it mean... this "30 fps server" refer to, exactly? Your card's frames per second are in the 60's, so does this mean, it means, it's not really doing 60's fps if the server is only doing 30 fps? Sorry, confused on this... probably a noob question. Thnx!

      The server simulates every object and entity in the game world, ships moving, aiming, shooting, falling, exploding; it does this multiple times every second which is indicated by server fps. The server has a limited amount of calculations, and by extension a limited amount of simulating it can do 30 times every single second. The lower the server fps, the less 'accurate' the simulation will be making the game exponentially more unstable as elevators will become eldretch horrors jumping through dimensions, boxes grow newtonion tentacles and warp out of your ship, hud elements to go on strike and overall lots of other comedic and or at times game breaking jank.
      The low server fps is the average experience because most servers have more entities in them then they can handle, making a fresh server with 30 fps a rare treat.
      Imagine a rock being thrown from a ship, the server must calculate and simulate said rock falling, the more calculations the server can do to simulate the falling rock the more accurate said falling would be. This smooth experience is around 30 server fps, any less and the server will opt to skip some calculations so it can still simulate more important things often related to player entities, making the rock appear to freeze and jitter or outright glitch through the map or not register being thrown at all, you will still see the frozen rock in however many fps you can render the information the server provides your client but if the server isn't updating the rock's position your screen won't either even you are rendering that in this case outdated information at 60 fps.

      Basically the better the server performance (currently 30fps is the max for the game environment) the better the server is performing its job at controlling what the NPC's do.
      The performance also impacts many other things in the game as well. The higher the fps, the better the experience.
      In this case the video is showing us that the AI are actually very challenging, and not the dumb bots that you hear so many complain about.
      The AI are like John Wick when the servers are good.
      SC is such a massive detailed game, that the servers have a hard time processing all the info, and often degrade with more players on it, and/or degrade over time.
      CIG is creating tech called server meshing to overcome this issue. It links servers together to share the work load to increase performance.
      But that is a whole other college level lecture to explain the tech.
      The reason much of the game is server side dependent, is so that we as players all see the same things, the game size on your drive is much smaller, and prevents some of the cheating/hacks that are prevalent in games.

      @@xotx4291 the tickrate of the server being low will definitely contribute to teleporting NPCs, yes. The time it takes for the server to know where you are, calculate the ai response and communicate back to you where they are is slowed waaaaay down when the server is at low tickrate because it's thinking about everyone else in the world and what they're doing too.
      Server meshing will allow servers to think about smaller areas and be more responsive.

    Its cool, but now, something else raise some concern. The feedback in fps. when getting shot, your character doesnt react or almost no reaction. Youll be dead if you dont look your health bar. When you kill those NPC, that feedback is also lacking in terms of sound, splatter, and even animation. The death animation is so slow, you don't know the NPC is dead.

      The visor marker is the only feedback you get, but it doesnt make sense. Its a bit immersion breaking now that we are where we are. Hope its going to be revamped in 3.24 or 4.0 wathever the next big patch.

    So this works on servers with like max 10 ppl and when the server is fresh...
    So realistically SC right now can handle Multiplayer for up to 10 maybe 12 players 😂

    unless they add personal shield generators to this game the ttk is just too short, for npc action im sure its fine but for PVP, there is not fight, its just whoever sees who first, no fun.

      its only a feature of combat helmets, and as we can pretty much do this with current tech, its not outrageous to think 900 years in the future we havnt nailed the tech down, however you can turn it off and hitmakers in options if you really want

      I play fps with head tracking sometimes and the crosshair helps a lot, it works perfectly for my needs

    Seriously hate modern COD gaming garbage in a game that's supposed to be "realistic" or at least immersive..
    hit reg crosshairs, little ding sound effects on kills, unrealistic hit sound effects.. Just stupid af. Disappointing this game is going the COD direction.

    Shot through terrain multiple times, multiple instances of ai teleporting and lagging around, multiple 0 reaction ai, ai consistently trying to shoot at player through cover, no push on location from ai. All this video proves is Star Citizen Bobs couldn't handle actual good AI from other games. How long did it take the server to degrade back down to 5 tick 30 minutes?

NEVER FFS
