Hello people of the Verse! Due to multiple comments about RMC, today we are exploring Derelict Outposts in Star Citizen, in order to trade some valuable Recycled Material Composite - RMC. We're going through multiple runs, visiting Picker's Field and Rappel on Hurston and Dunboro on Microtech. We're selling at the CBD in Lorville and the TDD on each other Planet, including Orison, Area 18 and New Babbage. And we are in fact making some big money!

Spoiler Alert: The biggest threat wasn't pirates or other players, but the game and it's servers themselves.
EDIT: Seems like pirate actvity has seen some increase over the past weeks! Be extra careful and stay safe!
100%
Thanks for this! Wife and I are going to give it a go asap. :)
Really informative, must give this ago…thanks 👍
prepare for frustration.
@@Bass_Nomad. Got ganked yesterday at Dunboro with my C2 blown up, luckily I had not loaded up ! so a pointless gank really. Yes bloody frustrating 🙂
Waiting for more , you so close to 200 sub 🎉 . You do great job
Thank you so much!
I must leave a comment from the other side of the law. I've bought myself a Carrack and 890. All thanks to u my careless traders.
I've put warning labels wherever I could! :D
super guide, thank you !
Thank you!
Space Hermit = Like from me.
Hello fellow ppl avoider, may we never meet.
Haha
good profits to you :)
I stumbled upon this with my C2 clearing out that location for a bounty mission. Made like 3 mil with 1 run 😅 now the markets are flooded
I've made the bulk of my recent in-game wealth using this trading method. Worst encounter I ever had; I was unable to get up on the ramp of my C1 Spirit. Eventually another player came along and started trying to get into my ship too. Eventually, I was able to get in my ship by clipping through the wing/engine, and got the hell out of there. I escaped unscathed with all my cargo intact. I now switch between this and salvage for making money.
Yeah, I feel ya! I've had this a few times with the C2, where I couldn't get back on the elevator platform and the other doors' buttons were just out of reach... Now I'm usually always repositioning the ship until I'm 99% sure. Love the indicator Lights of the C1 to see where the door goes. Makes it a lot easier, if you open it from the cockpit to see if everything's fine, before leaving the pilot seat.
Yes! I made sure to bind the ramp to keys and open it before I get out of the pilot seat now. Makes life a lot easier. Haha
@@Plastic_Spaceman Also makes it easier for someone to board your ships while you're still getting out of your chair.
Dont forget to check the bushes for pirates
Same game play as me. Like 30 or forty pickerfield runs to area 18. Some nasty pirates sucked 2 mill and then took my cargo. Loss 9.6 mill. If it looks iffy turn around and be picky.
Yeah, I assume I was pretty lucky to some extend that nothing real bad happened to me during this.
if u do this with the c2, that's 2+ mil profit every run. (huge investment too though)
true last chance
The last time I bought Laranite at a Hurston outpost, on the way back to Lorville I got quantum snared, and collided straight into a ship deliberately parked right in my path. When I re-spawned and returned to the crash site, most of my 696 scu was gone. So this appears to be the latest pirate tactic, and you don't even get a chance to fight back.
Wow that's some advanced piracy going on. :( I think it's going to be even harder to escape, once we have master modes in the game...
Pirates have been all over these known routes so I've gotten into the habit of setting a quantum destination away from my intended destination, exiting quantum after a million km or so, then setting my actual destination in quantum. You approach from a different angle and since interdiction only has a 20km snare radius (I think), you end up well outside of the snare window from anyone setting up on the direct route.
@@TommyZ3429 That's actually a pretty good idea
@TommyZ3429 indeed, that's my standard procedure. My mistake was setting my "decoy" destination out of Ariel to Magda. Who would have thought that was a popular trap !
What are those new risky places you buy from called? Are they better than the old pvp hot spots?
You mean the Derelict Outposts? Picker's Field and Rappel on Hurston, Dunboro on Microtech. Are you referring to the Scrap yards like Brio's as pvp hot spots? I don't know, think they went pretty silent as illicit cargo has been mostly removed from vhrts/erts
You were lucky to not meet any pirates. My runs were similar to yours but I got NPC interdicted once (I just ran and took no damage) and player pirated once (I lost 6 million worth of cargo). Overall I still made money. Of course, it is irrelevant as there is an aEUC wipe imminent.
Yeah I got real lucky, gotta say! We'll see how the whole gameplay is gonna turn out in 3.23, there's probably a lot of changes and I assume, solo cargo hauling will be either very very risky or straight up impossible soon.
I checked the new version in EPTU. You can still do this run with the C2 but now you sell it for more too. So it's about the same.
How does it feel with the master modes?
@@SPACEBANANA3000- I didn't get the hang of it first. If you want to Quantum or go fast, you lose your shields. If you want shields, your ship goes at fighting speed. I have not tried it so much yet. I just wanted to know if that route worked still.
@@Vikotnick Ah I see, thank you!
@@SPACEBANANA3000- I tried it again just now. I don't like it. It is very confusing. Maybe I will get used to it.
Haven't tried it yet, guess I'll wait for the update, the ptu is giving me nothing but trouble... Want to find out if this makes escaping pirates harder since you have no shield, or easier, since you're going faster than anyone with their guns out
6M/Hr Reclaimer. A couple good ways to make bank.
Yep, still king of money making... Let's see how this will be in 3.23
Pickers field was not working for me. I landed close but when I tried to choose my ship on the terminal, it didn't show up. Am I landing in the wrong spot?
There was a bug a few weeks ago where that would happen, but at all the places. Thought that would have been fixed. Can you try a different ship or get closer to the building with the terminals?
I will try later and get back to you. I was using the cutlass black. Thanks for replying!
while interesting most folks dont have one of those huge ships to trade with. /salute
True, but this is also worth doing with smaller ships. Probably not with a starter ship, but anything like a Cutlass Black, C1 or freelancer could make quite the money.
Sadly with 3.23 the storing and then selling the cargo of the stored ship kind of duplicates the cargo and to remove that you'd have to claim your ship or sell it from a non stored state. Which is rather annoying. Really annoying -_- So its other stuff for me than RMC sadly, I don't know any way to land my ship at Area18 without it getting stored. If anyone knows I'm all ears
It's bugged for every commodity unfortunately... And selling RMC or basically any other stuff is a real pain, since there's no demand for so many things, since those idiots keep exploiting the bug ...
I couldn't see my ship in the terminal last time I tried RMC
You mean when trying to buy? Have you tried different locations?
@@SPACEBANANA3000- It's ok I found why , thx to ask
@@SPACEBANANA3000- I still prefere less profitable trading, I can"t stand waiting in front of the selling teminal
@@Totozme I have the same problem, can you tell me how you solved it?
Do you not just loose all this money after each wipe ?
Depends if it's gonna be a full wipe or not. Unless it's really a complete wipe (which I don't expect to happen for 3.23), you'll likely keep the ships you bought, inventory and credits might be gone though
Even on AREA 18 i always have "no demand". Its so annoying.
There's a bug in 3.23 apparently, which allows people to duplicate cargo / sell the same load multiple times... Seems like people are exploiting this, so that's probably why. :(
@@SPACEBANANA3000- yes I've read the spectrum post about it, and I tried to replicate it. It doesn't work though, seems hotfixed.
I encountered a pirate and had to pay him 69k
Been doing this all week in my C2 and made a fortune. High risk but got lazy. Only got pirated once from being a sleepy dumb ass and using the ramp not the lift. They returned my ship and goods later at a hangar. Very chill process but gets a bit repetitive
True, gets repetitive since you pretty much only take one route over and over again. Some more spots to sell effectively would be nice, so you could possibly incorporate some other commodities in your trade routes as well and see some different places.
Unfortunately, 3.23 is coming with a COMPLETE wipe. So your collected wealth is going to be reset to your starting aUEC. 😥
But you could buy some ships, which are becoming much more expensive anyways, and then hope for them to stay. :D
This guy just wanted to mine his own business ;)
Keep it going before next patch. Prices for RMC and salvage in general are inflated and will change. Ship prices ingame are going up 100% so buy a Reclaimer now before its 45mil. Should be a soft wipe
I think especially large ships are going to be waaaaay more expensive... Seen some recent prices in a video, where crusader Ships exploded... MSR went 15M, C2 somewhat 18M and the A2 was at over 45M, where all of them have been at 5M before. Also A1 and C1 have been added for relatively cheap. Well See soon!
@@SPACEBANANA3000- they will sky rocket for sure. They want it to take you years to be able to buy an 890j. In Eveonline it took me 6 years to get a Titan, that's what CIG is aiming for.
@@Chase_The_Calm_Gaming yea, either this or they want you to pledge your life savings :D
I love pirating this route lol. It's a guaranteed 7M gain. Nice place to hang out while waiting for a trader to show up.
uhhh i mean, this route is super safe! keep trading it!
Just like at Brio's when "salvaging" was the way to earn money :D
at least on Hurston you can breathe the air so you can eat and drink as needed without a ship
i loved to trade, then i lost all my cargo due to 30k. after a lot of bugs i uninstalled the game. i reinstalled a while back, ofcourse i lost all my cash and trading ship. all the bugs however where still present, after falling thru an elevator and a planet etc. i realised i never really enjoyed this game, mainly because of all the bugs and knowing all the grinding is for nothing as everything is wiped during patches. the game looks good, but the gameplay experience is like non-existant due to the bugs. even if u buy the cheapest starting package you wont get enough value out of it in my opinion. Ill play this again when it sees a full release...which isnt going to be anytime soon.
I agree, the game is full of bugs, even game breaking ones. I've had similar experiences, like mining with a prospector for hours. When I loaded up my freight ship in order to sell the refined stuff the ship exploded for no reason, right after leaving the hangar. All the work lost. However, I feel it got a lot better especially the 30k situation (which nowadays even protects stuff on your grid, so you shouldn't lose it), and the major bugs mostly occur on the events missions, like Siege of Orison or the Overdrive Initiative. Which is still bad, but doesn't affect my daily gameplay too much. But yeah, I feel ya. Especially in the beginning I told myself: I really wanna like this game, but it's really making it as hard as possible.
Insane trade profits until you get pirates on yo ass and you lose 10 -20 mil ;)
Yep, that's why I've been sceptical for the longest time... You'll never know for sure if there isn't someone hiding somewhere
got pirated this morning, lost 2.9Mil, they left me with 144auec! my fault to invest all though, expected to make 2/3 more runs and buy a mole.
now have to start again.
LMAO > Connie Pheonix = suspiscious ship.
terrible idea, i actually pirate on those places, and if server works properly i make tens of millions in one evening. First of all, ppl are never friendly there, if you see someone coming, lift up and wait in air with empty ship until they leave. NEVER leave ship open OMG! You will never see anyone waiting for you down there cuz there is just too much mess and if they dont move you cant see them, they could even dress as the NPC... if you see small ship parked there or destroyed, leave and dont even land.. if you see anything on radar, run away. Sometime there is a guy on ground giving an echo to a friend who is waiting at OM and comes to destroy your ship once its loaded.. You can make a lot of money as you experienced on your own, but the pirate will make even more..
"You can make a lot of money as you experienced on your own, but the pirate will make even more"... that's a win:win in my book!
