What bugs me about pubs is that a lot of bar staff won't make eye contact or acknowledge you when you walk to the bar. They almost deliberately look anywhere but your direction. Then when they are free they say 'whose next?' after standing waiting like a plum for 10 minutes to get served on a week day, well if you paid attention you'd see who was next. That's why it's great to get table service. That was a lovely welcome.
