Amazing review very well articulated. I picked the game up the other day after eyeing it down for a while, it’s defiantly a masterpiece of it s genre, and the changes between acts took me way off guard.
Thank you so much for this review. I’ve been waiting for this to come out on switch and wanted to know how it performed. It’s good to hear that the devs were so eager to patch up the glitch you uncovered! Excellent job! 👍
@@SwitchCorner you underestimate the commodore. Seriously though this is the switch ffs. It’s incredibly underpowered in terms of modern devices but if it can’t run this game we have problems.
Played the demo on Steam and couldn’t WAIT for it to come to the Switch! Great review, love the background info from the devs and their obvious passion for the game. So excited to play this!
Happy it helped! I wasn’t sure whether to include the dev and devolver piece but I felt it demonstrates why they are so good to the audience and sure, it could have been caught in advance but remember with a deck builder, there’s thousands of things that can be different from playthrough to playthrough, I didn’t even know it was possible to share save files
@@SwitchCorner you can share save files?! I am amazed by devs/designers who can make a game with so many complexities, and this one just goes above and beyond with content + design.
Watching this review after I’ve already purchased the game. Going to jump in tonight. Super excited! Used the code corner to technically get it for $18 and some change.
This game looks perfect gameplay wise but one important thing I would like to know is the replayability? Is it just one campaign with the same story and randomness in the cards and battles or is it more random roguelike style new run new stuff lots of content?
Of course it takes a little horror to get me interested in deck builders which I have been against for so long. This game has been on the radar for quite some time and I look forward to it being my first experience with the genre.
No problem! I remember, I figured you would show up in the comments lol! Yeah, I was right on track to release a video at release date but the bug crushed me sadly. As I note at the end though, the speed they reacted was incredible, respect to them and the games fantastic
@@SwitchCorner I am a player/physical collector, I will talk with the folks at Special Reserve Games privately to address the patch. They’re going through a rough bit because of a missing patch on an old indie they physically released this year. Thank you once again 🙏
@@SwitchCorner they are already working on a solution for it. It was a big mess up during assembly of the cartridges, the patched version already existed but the wrong one was put into the cartridges, human error, it happens.
07:52 - Thanks, that's all I needed to know before buying 👍 Edit: it's a must have game, if you love deck building roguelike games, no regrets at all! 💯
@SwitchCorner How would you rank this in your favorite deckbuilders? Probably going to add this to the library anyway as I'm a huge fan of the genre, but just curious 😁
It's a tough choice honestly, because it's not really a traditional deck builder! If your look for just deck building, it's probably not the one! That said as well, next week, I will be releasing a top 10/20 deck builders video on the Nintendo Switch!
This game is as boring as hell. You don't build card hands at all. Your choices are very limited to what can be played. Having such few choices takes all the fun out of it. It's too linear, too much luck is involved and not enough skill is needed. Good card games rely on levelling up skills with your deck building. But not here.

question how does the archivist work on the switch?
This game was OUTSTANDING on PC!!!! One of my favorites that year on any platform and one of if not my single favorite card combat/deck builder game
You understand then why it's so hard to talk about lol
@@SwitchCorner absolutely! Lol
Better than Slay the Spire?!
Different, very different, it’s not always roguelike, putting this game in a genre is actually quite complicated
Amazing review very well articulated. I picked the game up the other day after eyeing it down for a while, it’s defiantly a masterpiece of it s genre, and the changes between acts took me way off guard.
Great to hear, I’m hoping those that watch this and choose to play understand immediately why it’s so hard to talk to
I was so glad to see this arrive on the Switch.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Although, even after that, it's still fun.😁
I'm surprised at no point did you even mention if the game comes with Kacey's mod...
On switch?
Such a good game. I have been playing it since release on switch and really enjoy it. I hope they make a part 2 with more variety would be so awesome

Honestly, I got a thank you from Daniel Mullins, lead dev, was a high point of my time doing RUclips lol
@@SwitchCorner haha. That’s awesome!
How it performed? It’s a fuckin deck building game. A Commodore could run it ffs
You underestimate Inscryption!

It's on sale in Europe till Sept 10th 2023 for €11,99 (-40%) instead of 19,99.
I'm a fan of deck builders and roguelites, this one looks perfect for me! Thanks for the video

Definitely wanna get this one. Waiting for the physical version though.
I'm terrible at card game but it was super fun to watch friends play it
I dont know how i missed this video. I have been wanting this to come to the switch! Ty for covering it
Thanks Alex for helping making this game a must play on the Switch!
Ever since I saw this game. I so wanted this on the Switch. Glad it's available
Thank you mate! I had asked for this to you and other channels on Twitter, brilliant! Thank you so much!

I’ve seen that, Gato, I actually realized that yesterday and sent devolver a message saying. It will need to be factored in
@@SwitchCorner they are already working on a solution for it. It was a big mess up during assembly of the cartridges, the patched version already existed but the wrong one was put into the cartridges, human error, it happens.
That’s gotta be an expensive mistake for special reserve - they do some of my favorite physicals because of the connection to devolver
Jinkies! Not what I expected. Totally picking this one up.

@@SwitchCorner when 😍😍?
I wonder where will Monster Train, and Rougebook would be for you..
Hope to find other hidden gems also by watching it.
Aiming for the 12th, lots of lists coming up!
I love this game. Played it for 9 hrs straight the moment it finished downloading.
This is how a port must be made, what a creepy and lovely game
Great looking graphics, but for some reason I have a hard time enjoying card based games. Thanks for the review Alex!
I just love the whole feel they went with this game.
Thanks for the review. Not really into Roguelike deck-building games but this one seems pretty good.
Loved the look of this when it released last year and can't wait to get it for my switch
I prefer physical tabletop gaming usually but this looks enjoyable.
Great game, wasn’t sure to buy it, this review changed my mind and I’m really enjoying it!
Can you work your magic on the devs for Cult of the Lamb? It really needs a patch for the Switch version.
I very excited about this one. I love Slay the Spire.
Sounds nice and I know a lot of people loved it. But I'm not sure if I'll get it at launch or wait
I have no idea what a deck builder is. Maybe I'll just buy it and go in blind.
Deck builder, it’s card based basically sorry, I didn’t think about that
Definitely looks like something I'd enjoy! Thanks for the review
Just finished on PC. Found out it is on Switch, can't wait to bring this with me on work trips
Game is a masterpiece
Been interested in this one, thanks for the review!
Devolver always brings great ges for they consolé,i can't wait yo try this Game.
I’ve been a while for this game. Awesome review thx
Wow they fixed it so quickly! Can you do the same thing to Game Freak to see if they will fix Pokemon Scarlet/Violet? Lol
Interesting!! Thanks for the review.
Ummm, now I'm seriusly thinking about giving a chance to this game. 😬
Can you guys please do a review of super lone survivor
Keep the reviews coming! And have a good night :)
Intrigued! Looking forward to the next review
This reminds me of yugioh, I summon Blue eyes white dragon
I summon Kuriboh. I win.😚
Love this game so much
This looks super interesting. 😋
Great video!
Definitely!
This is an interesting game
ohh i heard about this game 😊

Looks intriguing but gonna pass and maybe wait till it goes on sale even though the price is good.
