It's common for people who are dealing with trauma to react to triggers thinking the same thing will happen again. At some point, he should have either backed off or tried to understand what's going on. He did neither.

Won't recommend someone else to do what she did, it is much better to approach the police and legal system.
The legal systems of most countries are extremely strict in such matters.
The part when the tough guy fights back and makes Jenifer get a taste of the taser and continuously beats her to the point of almost raping her, just to later get himself killed by the cops was so unreal and bizarre for the nature of this vigilantly like movie...
Also , a cute woman dress as a school girl invites you to a shady ally in the middle of the night, totally normal, nothing fishy here. lol
The harassing coworker is unrealistic as well. His demeanor and look isn't the type to keep getting shot down. He would be friends with her first and stay in the friend zone hoping for a chance one day.
Honestly I'd say it's one of the best parts of the film. It keeps the revenge grounded in reality. While so many other films like this seem to make the person getting revenge seem almost supernatural, which is enjoyable in it's own way, her revenge feels so much more real.

@@cheeseck7205 You'd be surprised what the human body can withstand, and it's entirely possible for him to do exactly that. First off he's a very big man, who clearly works out, so things like tasers and open wounds aren't going to be as damaging as they would to most people. Additionally he only actually gets tased once, having stopped her the first time, and when he does gets tased its on a loose layer of clothing, greatly decreasing the effectiveness of a taser. Also when he gets stabbed it's not very deep and doesn't appear to pierce the jugular or any other major body parts. Lastly I was more talking about it from the perspective of the revenger. It's really not realistic that she would be able to take him down unless she had the jump on him. Too many movies based on revenge have the protagonist become near super human with the way they are able to take down bad guys. But the way she doesn't in this makes it seem much more gritty and real.

Victims and/or Survivors of rape and/or abuse done one time by one person or many people or many times sometimes feel like their humanity was stolen from them. Everyone is different. For some people equally horrible things being done to their tormentor(s) does nothing. But I’ve met people who couldn’t even start to heal themselves til they felt some justice occurred. For some jail was fine, for some finding out that the person had over 200 lil cuts, had been castrated, with his d!ck shoved in his mouth when he was found dead was she started to heal. She had nothing to do with that as she had moved half way across the country long before. That woman was my mother. She didn’t have a good nights sleep my whole life because of fear. I was 31 when she slept through her first night. I was 31 when I learned why she was a “light sleeper”
I wont share her story but I’ll share the portion that involved me. After he did what he did to her (she was sleeping when he entered the home) he held me hostage bc he didn’t want her to call the police or even leave the apartment. He fell asleep with his hand crossed through my crib. That was about 20hrs after he hurt her. Luckily my uncle lived upstairs bc she cldnt get me out of the crib without waking him. She ran upto my uncle’s apartment, and he then ran down to corner bar and several men entered to remove me. We were taken to the hospital, police report was done there, within 24 hours we flown half way across the country to live with other family. For her to start a new life. She was too scared and too scarred to back and testify. She didn’t want me to know what happened to her AND she felt guilty that she had to leave me alone for 7mins. She says that those 7mins were the worst because in those 7mins, she didn’t know if i was ok. I was 31 when my uncle called her and told her to check out a news story. It was his torture and death and no leads. It was about 3wks after that that I happened to be with my mom when she slept, all the way through the night. When my daughter woke to pee, my mom didn’t, when i moved around, my mom slept.
Her relief, her FINALLY feeling free and safe and her somewhat joy in his horrific passing has in no way at all lessoned her humanity.
I don’t judge victims/ survivors in what makes them feel better.

While I think MOST humans are good and want to live in peace and work with others in a harmonious way. I think there are just enough truly vile or evil or disgusting humans that only care about what they want. And their disease is contagious in different ways in different people.
I think plenty of people that have had an experience similar to or even worse than my mom’s have been able to heal and to move on with their lives just fine without any justice (through the system or otherwise). Some people can never heal even with justice. And thus they become infected with sadness or anger or whatever. They go through life contaminating others. It’s unfortunate but true.
Your thoughts and opinions are not naive. I think you’re very aware of the world we live and would just prefer revenge not be needed. Ideally no person would have to need to heal from that type of trauma. But our world isn’t there yet and maybe never will be.

Women know how it really is to exist in this world. You always have to be on guard around friends, strangers- it makes no difference. In my experience the self proclaimed “good guys” are the ones who will do the most vile things.
I’ve been harassed, followed, assaulted no matter what I was wearing or how I acted. There are a lot of evil people in the world and you’re doing yourself a disservice if f you are not prepared.

I was sexually abused for years and I wish this could happen to the man that did it..... I feel disgusting inside and believe it's my fault in ways. yeah its a shame there are not more harsher punishments for people who do this. the sad truth is a lot of people who rape, abuse women completely get away with it or if they are punished for it. not nearly enough. some crimes should not be punished so lightly.

Yes, I love that she bites his tip! I remember mine everyday and it happen at 14 and I’m 31. I replay it all the time, wishing I did it differently, cry and blame myself all the time. But just wish I could do the same to my attacker, his jail time wasn’t enough. I’m still damaged and don’t like to be touched because of him. He ruin my life and I wish I can do the same outside of jail time!

I after going through trauma like that I say just do whatever makes you feel better in the end even if it is killing those abusers. Because in the end it’s your life and you deserve to enjoy it before you die. Yes revenge isn’t always the answer and I agree but it is the number one solution.
