- After running away from home to find her absentee father, Summer ends up in a small town and almost gets caught stealing at a gas station. However, kind-hearted Tom covers for her, saving her from trouble. After getting to know each other, Summer ends up spending the night at Tom's, not knowing she might be staying there for a little longer than she thought.

Summer was stupid to go looking for her estranged father without consulting her mother. She deserves it!
Gant was a nice god fearing guy but after hearing about the misscarriage he suffered so much that he had a stroke that turned him into monster :(
Summer wasn't stupid about not consulting her mother that lied to her and definitely didn't deserve to be put in a situation like that because of it. She was a piece of work on her own though stealing and assaulting people I guess her mother wasn't such a good influence either.
No her mother was dumb for not explaining the exact circumstances.

It's so tragic that everybody mentions Ashley Greene (protagonist / main character) being part of that trash Twilight - yet no one mentions the actor playing Gant (Stephen McHattie), who starred in "Pontypool" which is one of the greatest "zombie" horror movies to come out in decades.
Also, his name in that movie is "Grant Massey" (the same town this movie takes place).

she has been 'blacklisted' by the bigger film studios ever since she demanded too much money to return for the Twilight sequels, her last big break/ paychecks ended with the series.

@@emmanuellaokwuosah5214 simple economics, it's about 'supply and demand', she knew the 'demand' and the contract for her to return for the following four sequels was there, the studio knew her asking price was 'too much' but they relented(to retain the quality of the sequel movies). Unfortunately for Greene, when the movie sequels were done, so was the 'demand' for her (including her 'supply' of talent) and her reputation. In Hollywood and with actors (in limitless 'supply'), there is a big difference between 'wanting more pay' and 'wanting to much more pay', so Greene and her reputation was in much less 'demand'.
She is worth like 8 million dollars so I think she will be fine even if she doesn’t get any big roles ever again.
Which is a shame because she's a decent actress and good to look at.

Yeah there was that dude in Germany that locked his daughter in a crawl space he built. Locked her in there for like a decade. She had A KID WITH HIM. So the child was his daughter AND granddaughter, She was like 8 yrs old and had never been outside.
Every once in a while you'll hear about someone escaping after 5 or 10 yrs or even longer. Always made me think about how there are currently people out there with people locked in their basements or whatever.

@@burtan2000 OMG , I watched this movie called “ Basement ” and It was disturbing about a dad refusing to let his daughter go when she was about to see the world on her own and leave with her bf but the day when she was gonna leave he had her to go in the basement to act like he needed something than knocked her I their and before that he raped her and then she had like 3 kids one bye one and he had her living in their snd her kids except the third baby she had wasn't enough recources for them so they got to live a normal life in the outside world upstairs it was so sickening luckily when one kid was like sick real bad her two kids that were down their was 15 and 14 around teen and they got out through like a opening vent got someone to help them and the mother sense he had a weird obsession with the daughter but didn't really pay it no mind . That movie was based on a true story .

Cell phones don't exist in this universe.
When I see these kind of films, some of them even resemble in real life crime scenes. It feels the world would be same with or without public security forces (who arrive after the accident for either aftermath analysis or chasing the wrong person)
I bet that they intentionally made the mother be named “Twila” since this movie was made after the first Twilight film which was a massive success and the main character from this movie portrayed Alice in the Twilight films.
