Somebody, please, give a hug to those 5 people who disliked this beautiful piece.
Very good idea but it won't help at all.
A hug? I'm going to give them all hearing aids.
I miss Jason so much. I think I probably loved him. Happy to hear others covering his music.
+1
Hold on Magnolia
To that great highway moon
No one has to be that strong
But if you're stubborn like me
I know what you're trying to be
Hold on Magnolia
I hear that station bell ring
You might be holding the last light I see
Before the dark finally gets a hold of me
Hold on Magnolia
I know what a true friend you've been
In my life I have had my doubts
But tonight I think I've worked it out with all of them
Hold on Magnolia
To the thunder and the rain
To the lightning that has just signed
My name to the bottom line
Hold on Magnolia
To that great highway moon
No one has to be that strong
But if you're stubborn like me
I know what you're trying to be
Hold on Magnolia
I hear that lonesome whistle whine
Hold on Magnolia
I think it's almost time
Hold on Magnolia
I think it's almost time
It's almost time
I am in awe of the deeply moving chord progression and hook at the center of this song and it’s showcased masterfully in this version. Hansard’s voice is so hauntingly delicate that I am always taken aback when he gets power behind it like he does here. This has been an intensely important and meaningful song for me and this is an absolute perfect honor to the man who wrote it. Thank you to everyone and anyone involved in making this come together.
Glen Hansard could strum anything and sing from the phone book for me, y'all. I love this man.
Jason Molina lives forever
Ten Years Gone now. We Miss You Jason.
Thank you Mr Hansard for a version of a song that is one of my favourites like the plant version of the dillard and clark song it is always good to hear another approach and also to understand the sweetness of Molinas music hoepfully more to come though his trumpet songs like 3 human and leave the city would be hard to better
That was incredible in so many ways.
Be still my heart🖤🇮🇪💪🏽
I must finally be getting over the sadness of JM's passing..I don't get as judgmental when I hear a cover. Of coarse this one is epic.
You can tell this song means something to him.
Thank you Glen.. needed this tonight..
What a song ha.Jason RIP
De uma sensibilidade incomparável!
Great cover, super job. I think the singer is pissed at the drummer.
Oh, so lovely.
so magic...
Beautiful version of a painfully perfect song..
Fantastic!
who's playing what??
oh and btw very nice
lovely
I can't quite make out what he's doing there with the first two chords, anyone know?
+TheWiseOne477 notes from the A to E chords, but played up high. He's doing hammer ons as well. If you find the root notes on the 4th and 5th strings you'll get it fairly quickly (use a barre as well).
a great, great song. nice
hauntingly beautiful!
thanks for this
incredible
Love it!
good on ya, Glen.
♥
Poor attempt
No one can match JM's powerful vibrato, but Glen deserves at least a nod here.
