In the original song the lyrics are "In my golden days I was A slave," but here he says "In my golden days I was YOUR slave." Also in the next chorus he says "I'll be YOUR saint" instead of "I was A saint." I really like the different connotation.
I do like the difference it makes as well.

Note: On the album version (Longitude) it sounds like something else is said instide of 'lapdogs that stride that mystery' but not sure what. Even here it doesn't seem right.
There is 1 or 2 other VERY slight variances between this video and the album but these lyrics best match this version.
Seeing Glen this week in NY, heard this has been on the playlist this tour. This song’s building crescendo is epic! ❤️

There was a guy in a Killarney hostel. Long haired. I think some people will know. Went there a couple of times. Myself, was already living in Ireland, not born here - he told me once about "The Frames", Glen. Man, thanks for telling - i absolutely love'em.
Probably the best version of fitzcarraldo I've heard yet... They just keep getting better!
Not sure... the 9+ minutes version with Jan Hruby is pretty awesome (Jan and Colm do some crazy violin duelling!!). =)

This guy can do no wrong! I originally only knew him through "Falling Slowly," but what a repertoire!
He is absolutely incredible! I found him through Once, and have never looked back. I get the chills literally any time I hear his voice.
And Falling Slowly is by his buddy, Eddie Vedder!
@@maggiefollett636 it’s not an Eddie Vedder song. He often covers it when they’re on stage together (and not overly well, imo), but it was written by Glen and Mirketa Irglova as part of the Once soundtrack

This song is so amazing and I've watched this video many times and noticed that Glenn is randomly standing but am only realizing that they changed venues so it's two different videos.
Still it hurts so much i love it.
I'm from Birmingham Alabama I got to see him here couple years ago , my momma always told me I was Scott -Irish I guess that's why I'm in tune with Glenn he's definitely the best I've ever heard and his band is also great. His movie once is my favorite movie so simple honest definitely a treasure.

D Max I agree, saw him live as support of Glen 1-2 years ago. Played some pieces of his lp, very emotional stuff he does. No voices, just instrumentals. Always start dreaming while listening

My old friend Ciara did a tour with them as fiddle player....she was a stunner and i think too many come-ons caussed her to leave. What a song, what a band. First 3 alabums are all gems to be aquired
