I didn’t think I would like anyone else singing Jason Molina’s songs, but this guy does a good job. Someone below said why listen to this while the original is way better. While I agree the original is better, I think it’s cool to hear someone paying respects to Jason by performing his songs. I understand they were friends, so I can see why this guy wanted to perform such powerful songs

cute covers and all, but why bother listening to them when the originals are 10x better?
Well jeepers, the same could be said for nearly any cover ever? The simple answer is that it's cool to hear a different interpretation. And JM and Glen were actually friends, so there's real passion and feeling in these, versus just someone who thought it was a cool song (which is also fine).
haha i suppose so, but i can still think of lots of good covers that stand on their own... and these covers aren't bad; they just don't come close to the power of of Jason Molina, imo. JM's music has had a TREMENDOUS impact on my life, so I am more biased about hearing covers of his songs.
I respect and appreciate GH, but i'm not a fan per se.
