      @TRal55 Год назад +28

      I guess you're fine with a candidate saying "we need to demonstrate our strength to Mexico" without anyone pushing back to clarify what that really means. You basically want the next George W Bush? People like Krystal are going to sound annoying when they're pushing the candidate you like, but that's our only line of defense towards seeing behind the glossy veneer of their words and finding out what they really mean. How many times in your life has a candidate sounded really really good in the campaign and then disappointed you later? Wouldn't you rather make sure they're the candidate they say they are before you vote for them? Any candidate worth their salt can jump those hurdles with grace. It's how you know the difference between who's forthcoming and who's a spinster, and if you really listen with the cynical ear of a responsible voter you can tell that Vivek is "not saying" a lot of things between his glossy words. Just because you enjoy being wooed by a candidate who's telling you everything you want to hear, don't settle for that. You should welcome the chance for someone to make them get specific and explain every detail. The devil is in the details. I love when my favorite candidates get pressed hard and still manage to come out on top in the debate; that's the only thing that makes them good. Anyone who doesn't want that just blows my mind. You just want to blindly trust someone who wants the most powerful office in the world without pushback? Why are you that gullible?

      In New Jersey, going back as far as 1777, women could vote if they were a property owner. I don't know that being a property owner was elsewhere a requirement for voting, as in this case being a property owner gave a woman a bonus that wasn't otherwise widely available for another 143 years. The reasoning was that in the overwhelming majority of cases, if a woman was a property owner it was because she outlived her husband, and she would be in effect casting a vote in his place.

      Not really. Krystal didn't do a good job but if you use your brain and critically think about his answers he's just as bad. Climate change doesn't mean only warmer temperatures. So more people dying from cold temperatures than hot temperatures is just a silly retort. If anything it would make the argument he's trying not to make, which is climate change is killing more people and is likely going to become an even bigger threat to humanity. On the home insurers pulling out this is the peak of go woke go broke virtue signaling. He's seriously going to argue that Black Rock and ESGs are the reason why insurers are pulling out of FL and CA? Okay, prove it. That's a BIG claim to make with zero evidence to back it up. You know unless you just hear ESG and automatically believe everything that's stated. Like if I said UFOs are real but ESGs are blocking it. Immortality is real too but ESGs won't share the secret. Like come on. This guy is the Republican Mayor Pete.
