This is why I mainly use Shimano gear. Mr Starling is an experienced and knowledgeable “fisho” who has earnt lots of respect.

That was OK. I still have my Shimano Bantam MAG plus 350 and Magnumlite GT1553 pistol grip rod from the early '80's. And a collection of '80's MAG baitcaster reels bought off Ebay. All thanks to Steve.

There's something about fishing off the rocks and cliffs. Idk if it's the additional danger or what but it's a lot of fun and I always seem to have some success.

I love catching these black drummer real challenge. BUT I cannot kill them to much respect for there age. Did you guys know that a 3.5kg fish could be as old as 35-40 years old. crazy stuff.

And that's why you don't use light gear for drummer and grouper. Land the big fish and loose the small ones I say..

Smart man would sale the shimano and buy a Van Staal, Zee Baas or Visser.

I'd say exactly the opposite. Shimano is Japanese engineering excellence. Like Toyota or Suzuki. The cheapest Shimano gear works. You can keep your expensive junk.
