Sr2 is the best Saints Row game, not only because of nostalgia but because of its atmosphere. The story brilliantly balanced itself between serious and wacky, you never felt a disconnect in between shooting Carlos as a mercy kill in one minute and killing pimps with an OP foam finger, SR3 just wasted it with the unnecessary amount of jokes that ruined any and all tension in the game. And the story have very little actual missions and making you do all the side missions. It seemed lazy and trying too hard to not be a “gta clone” SR2 will always be the best gangster open world game to me, unbeatable with its story and characters
I 100% disagree with where the first game and second game is placed. It's fine to have your opinion but, I played through the first game recently and I loved it. There were features in that game that I don't understand why it was removed. Also saints row 2 is my favorite saints row game hands down.

Fun fact about saints row 2. The reason why it was so broken on pc. Is coz of its port. And they lost a lot of the data. So they couldn’t do any fixes. Till recently. They found the master files. Now they gonna try patching the game. And adding the dlc that the pc never got, I’m not sure when it comes out tho.
The problem is idol ninja the guy who was doing the patch completely on his own because volution does not care at all about the first 2 games died last year. So far there has been no information if anyone has taken his place in doing the patch. Basically the source was found and lost again.

Fixed list: 5. Saints Row Gat Outta Hell 4. Saints Row 4 3. Saints Row 2. Saints Row The Third 1. Saints Row 2 Why? I'll compare SR2 & SRTT: SRTT sure got a nice graphics/physics upgrade, weapons customization & fun missions but the important stuff got forgotten. Not nearly as much mini-games, activities, missions, vehicles, NPC variety, districts, stores, clothing/accessories, weapons or cribs. Neither did those have multiplayer, mission/cutscene replay, consumables, crib customization (except for 2 main upgrades for only 3 apartments) or as good as character customization like in SR2. Saints Row 2 on the other hand had a lot more to offer. A lot better story which you can proceed however you like by choosing which gang's turf you start taking over. The difficulty was much higher and gave me actual challenge and got me using different approaches and I called up homies more often. The soundtrack is amazing pretty much in all saints row titles, SR2 still has most of my favorites. The easter eggs were incredible too in SR2. Steelport is such an ugly, boring dead city. Once you finish the story, take over the city, do all the challenges and find all collectibles.. there's nothing to do really except replay activities or fill up your garage and customizing your vehicles or your character/gang. Stilwater in SR2 had so much places to explore like huge shopping mall, airport terminal, pirate ship, museum, tourist caverns, playable casino etc. etc. even the ones used during missions. SR3rd had just a dozen places, most memorable being the zombie island, statue island, technically legal and.. idk cargo ship? Mission specific areas like the nuclear plant or Morningstar brothel wasn't accessible. Stilwater also had a lot more district variety like the suburbs, trailer park, arena, slums etc. All packed with huge amount of different styles of NPC's like students, tourists, goths, hippies/activists, skateboarders, elderly, jogers/beach bums, mimes, cosplayers.. SR3 just had few models of stripers, mascots, construction workers, clubbers, elderly and teens which SR2 had too. Steelport is just an industrial city which looks the same almost everywhere. Do I need to say more? Reply and I'll gladly provide more features SR2 had or did better than SR3rd.

I never played a SaintsRow until 4.I always thought the franchise was gang stuff but was surprised when I was superman in Saints Row 4. It definitely doesnt seem to fit the others as far as I can tell. Too easy, yet still addicting to be that OP.
To clarify something that was actually Enter the Dominatrix. Originally it was going to be dlc for SR3. Then at one point almost became it's own game. Finally became dlc within SRIV, I know a weird history for a dlc story mission pack.
I disagree I can recommend Saints Row 1 I actually like it yeah it is not excellent game but I think anyone who enjoys Saints Row 2 will enjoy Saints Row 1 it is not as but enjoyable in my opinion
#2 is #1 for me, but that's cause I hate all the wacky stuff in the others even if I do admire their willingness to take risks. Would love to see a trilogy that started out like GTA, then had a zombie / monster outbreak towards the end, then second game is immediately ruined city (expanded) with a lot of focus on deep gameplay mechanics, gangs, settlements and stuff to change it up, and then a third installment way in the future where everything is completely ruined and overgrown. That could have been unique whilst also really cool.
You clearly value different things than I do when it comes to Saint's Row. Was SR3 your first introduction to the series? I enjoy the gang/criminal aspect of Saints Row. SR1 was my favorite of the series. The characters in SR1 were amazing, as good as SR2. The gangs in SR1 were just better than SR2. I love SR2, but I hated the Ultor plotline, and the fact you can never reclaim the Row. SR3 is where the disappointment begins for me, I did enjoy a lot of SR3, but it started going crazy with cloning, zombie invasions, military coups. I still enjoyed it though. SR4 was when I believed the series became a complete bastardization of what it once was. If SR4 was not part of the Saints Row series and was its own thing with the same mechanics, I am sure it could have been a great game and I might have even enjoyed it. My main problem was that it completely derailed and erased everything that I used to love about the franchise. Gat Out Of Hell I didn't even bother looking at.

Honestly, I love Sr2s gfx. Has a warm feeling. Biased tho because it was my first game ever. There is a brilliant mod called Gentlemen of the Row which adds so much to the pc port like minigun-speed flamingo rocket launchers and fixes all its shit. I like them all tho haha. SR The Third was a huge downgrade and a letdown compared to SR2. Open world was quite shitty and the atmosphere was kinda meh. Story was worse and characters and villains were also worse. Character customization was also worse.
Saints Row 1 was never a GTA San Andreas ripoff. That's a common misconception. The game was in development a year before San Andreas was released. It was originally going to be a PS2 game.

I'm gonna rank mine from the ones I've played. 1: Saints two was way more grounded in reality and had some good humor 2: SRTT Was wacky and funny but still wasn't off the wall crazy yet. 3: SR4 just wasn't fun to me at all. The game felt empty and the whole power thing just was not for me. 4: GOH was just so not it. Note: Didn't play SR1 so I can't form a opinion on it but I hear it's good.

And the games were super short in comparison as well. I bought Saints Row 3 on release, and it felt seriously lacking, then when I got the full package I realized why it felt so severely lacking because they had taken out so much content to be DLCs. SR3 was better once it got all of it's content put back into it, but still miles behind 2.

The amount of shit talking this guy does on S1 is ridiculous. Just say you suck at harder games and need your hand held when the rating is over E. Still to this day I go back and Play S1 and 2. The ending of S1 is hands down one of the best endings you can find in a game.

I never played a SaintsRow until 4.I always thought the franchise was gang stuff but was surprised when I was superman in Saints Row 4. It definitely doesnt seem to fit the others as far as I can tell. Too easy, yet still addicting to be that OP.
To clarify something that was actually Enter the Dominatrix. Originally it was going to be dlc for SR3. Then at one point almost became it's own game. Finally became dlc within SRIV, I know a weird history for a dlc story mission pack.
I disagree I can recommend Saints Row 1 I actually like it yeah it is not excellent game but I think anyone who enjoys Saints Row 2 will enjoy Saints Row 1 it is not as but enjoyable in my opinion
#2 is #1 for me, but that's cause I hate all the wacky stuff in the others even if I do admire their willingness to take risks.
Would love to see a trilogy that started out like GTA, then had a zombie / monster outbreak towards the end, then second game is immediately ruined city (expanded) with a lot of focus on deep gameplay mechanics, gangs, settlements and stuff to change it up, and then a third installment way in the future where everything is completely ruined and overgrown.
That could have been unique whilst also really cool.
You clearly value different things than I do when it comes to Saint's Row. Was SR3 your first introduction to the series? I enjoy the gang/criminal aspect of Saints Row. SR1 was my favorite of the series. The characters in SR1 were amazing, as good as SR2. The gangs in SR1 were just better than SR2. I love SR2, but I hated the Ultor plotline, and the fact you can never reclaim the Row.
SR3 is where the disappointment begins for me, I did enjoy a lot of SR3, but it started going crazy with cloning, zombie invasions, military coups. I still enjoyed it though. SR4 was when I believed the series became a complete bastardization of what it once was. If SR4 was not part of the Saints Row series and was its own thing with the same mechanics, I am sure it could have been a great game and I might have even enjoyed it. My main problem was that it completely derailed and erased everything that I used to love about the franchise. Gat Out Of Hell I didn't even bother looking at.

Saints Row 1 and 2 are the best of the series, its a shame it all went downhill in Saints Row 3, which was disappointing, Saints Row 4 was bad when it goes all sci-fi, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell was awful, and the new Saints Row (2022) game was an F trash game that sucks ass.

Honestly, I love Sr2s gfx. Has a warm feeling. Biased tho because it was my first game ever. There is a brilliant mod called Gentlemen of the Row which adds so much to the pc port like minigun-speed flamingo rocket launchers and fixes all its shit. I like them all tho haha. Wierd all the dislikes tho its a good vid man

SR The Third was a huge downgrade and a letdown compared to SR2. Open world was quite shitty and the atmosphere was kinda meh. Story was worse and characters and villains were also worse. Character customization was also worse.

Saints Row 1 was never a GTA San Andreas ripoff. That's a common misconception. The game was in development a year before San Andreas was released. It was originally going to be a PS2 game.
What a terrible list. Sorry if you enjoy those games more than the others but this list just doesn't make sense. I mean saints row 1 and 2 are the best of the franchise how can they be ranked so low.
I'm gonna rank mine from the ones I've played.
1: Saints two was way more grounded in reality and had some good humor
2: SRTT Was wacky and funny but still wasn't off the wall crazy yet.
3: SR4 just wasn't fun to me at all. The game felt empty and the whole power thing just was not for me.
4: GOH was just so not it.

SR2 may has not the best graphics, maybe the player moves weird, maybe the lights & filters suck, but it's still a better game than the third, for the story telling, activities that were nessesary adding hours of gameplay, a city that feels alive & variated & not empty & repetitive like Steelport, NPC's actually making things, customization was better tho, all of that was sacrificed for some better graphics

@@katyushasjewishapple6799 2 is still the best in my opinion, I still get back to it to this day. The story of 3 onward is garbage in comparison, no emotional attachment to the characters, nothing. And the games were super short in comparison as well. I bought Saints Row 3 on release, and it felt seriously lacking, then when I got the full package I realized why it felt so severely lacking because they had taken out so much content to be DLCs. SR3 was better once it got all of it's content put back into it, but still miles behind 2.
