Thank you for the review, Jay. I am excited to give this one a try. I was a little disappointed to hear Jason C from The Mash and Drum say that this is a miss, but it does not seem like something he would care for to begin with. I always appreciate your unbiased reviews and fair assessments. Cheers!

Why wouldn't he? He mentions drinking Scotch and single malt often. Pretty sure he's done a Westland pick too, at least.

@@eafarrar I respect Jason and his opinions. He is a excellent resource for whiskey nerds like us. It just seems like lower proof whiskey (< 100) is a miss for most of those guys. I simply appreciate Jay for his "t8ke" on this whiskey and many other lower proof whiskies.

I quit enjoyed High West’s High Country American Single Malt. Great stuff.

It’s candy, and candy makes you dandy. Lemon drop bomb, I like that. Subscribed , awesome vid, descriptive, informative, well done.

Sounds great if I see it I'll definitely pick it up. I got a ASW Fiddler resurgence malted rye and the more I drink it the more I'm enjoying it. First sip was lets say different and for a rye it doesn't have any spice that I can detect and a very light flavor light fruit and a light sweetness and all that on a rye isn't what I'm used to hence the different take. I also picked up their double malted haven't opened that yet but looking forward to it. I enjoy drinking scotch and that malted rye bridges the gap between American single malts and scotch in my opinion. I get why some have a hard time with American single malts it certainly drinks much different than bourbon like how some don't like rye’s though I believe rye’s are more similar to bourbon I'm guessing that the spice is what makes them dislike it I've never understood that they both drink similar to me yes I can pick up the different notes but they really are similar to me. Great review and I hope this bottle comes to my area. Enjoy!!

I want to get into these more but don’t want to end up with American “scotch” either. Been very close to getting some Westward first but this Bulleit looks interesting

Westward is very very good. Get the barrel proof. The stout finish was also very good.

I just picked this up, haven’t tried it yet, but Westland and Balcones are my two favorites so far.
