Global Cycling Network we are missing the weight of the bikes on last videos!
Global Cycling Network no way has it got a higher stiffness : weight than the canyon evo
Odd to see that Shimano 9100 is not on more team bikes. It was introduced last year. As well I have to think Shimano will come out with a C24 9100 tubular wheelset. You can't ride C40's up C2's, C1's and Hors climbs.
I think most pro bikes dont have the new Dura Ace Chain rings because of the built in power meter interfering with sponsorship deals and head units.
You are likely correct Liam. SRM I have heard will not be building a unit for Dura Ace 9100 as Shimano will have their own built in unit. I would suspect to see it at the Tour de France. Going forward I am not sure what Shimano will do re other Power Meter sponsors deals.
Free hub test? Saddle height? Weight? Reach? Cmon Matt, that was weak
The geometry balance of the TCR is second to none.
please, please don't let this be a GCN bike curse
This has to be the comment of the week!
it does look like it right now....
he had to take a dump in the middle of the race...
So it goes.... from pink jersey to brown shorts....
Was the same with kruijswijk last year...
The GCN Curse strikes yet again! Give the leaders jersey to Matt, because he took down Dumoulin.
Matt was lucky to shoot this video before the stage 16... :D
That Velon transponder collected more data than it was expecting today.
Thanks for the overview, Matt, and thanks for telling us he uses 175mm cranks.
Does the saddle have a big enough cutout for when nature calls?
Am a very proud owner of this bike...mine full ultegra though.. 😁😁
And the curse of GCN strikes again!
I own this bike it rides beautifully
Wouldn't touch that saddle after today.
So GCN, last year, looked at Steven Kruijswijk's bike, the next day he crashes and looses the maglia rose. Today they look at Tom Dumoulin's bike and his lead over Quintana drops to 31 seconds. Is this another case of the GCN curse striking again?
TCR 😍😍😍
My, Matt's done himself proud on this...
That's a beefy stem 👌🤘👊
It would be nice to have added to the statistics the frame sizes also.
Great work GCN
The inner ring is NOT 39!
nope, it's a 36 :)
Violin Boss I also noticed instantly that the inner ring is not a 39. I even thought it was a 34. Do these combinations work? Would e.g. 52/34 work on a mechanical Ultegra 6800?
what about weight or measurements?!
I too would like to know what size he rides.
Guess according to Bike Radar it's M/L and on Giant's chart that is 57cm ETT
The pros usually run one size smaller than usual. So probably a M.
Apparently when Tom Dumoulin was told that GCN had been messing about with his bike he almost shit himself.
@witte2702:
for the future, GCN should mess with *1* SPARE bike (and preferably, the one the rider NEVER touches), NOT the-bike the racer is-actually gonna USE.
nice bike
nice bike, like the pink bottles as well
do we not get any vital statistics? ;)
or the freehub test we have all come to love so much? lol
I don't love the freehub test. It's stupid, It doesn't matter what sound it makes.
why not? before you buy a new wheel set it's good to know which of them are less annoying :)
Aww. Someone is a bit salty about the 2 seconds of satisfying freehub clicks. Not to mention, half the reason i love the freehub test is that analytical look Lasty has on his face when he does it! Lol
Congrats Tom!!
@global cycling network are you sure it is a 39 inner ring? i doubt it ;)
Last year Kruijwijck lost Pink after bike video and this year Dumoulin almost did same thing. Please teach me voodoo you use.
Can they do a video on Nibali's bike?
its like a dream become true
Love this bike!
Strong curse
Ffs GCN, again we have a shot at winning the Giro for the first time, and again you need to curse it.
Come on matt time to come clean.. what did you slip into his bidons?
watch out for the skid mark on the saddle!
It needs more pink
Nice one Matt
I see they put a new saddle on that bike.
this looks like a 36t inner ring
no measurements or.weight?!?
weight of the bike would of been nice, esp on a lightweight climber!
Sweet
The GCN curse goes to the "number two" level!
Does it have a brown seat now?
Could you guys explain the obsession of everyone taking photos with gates?
Where can I buy that SLR saddle with the red stripe? I got the Contact SL version on my TCR but need a replacement!
Did you do something to his bike? Seems as though he had to take a pretty important stop :P
#torqueback: Do the pro riders chose a frame size that is a little smaller than the standard for their size? It seems that all of their seat posts are very long, much longer than anything that I have ever ridden.
So what makes the latest Spesh tarmac nearly a third more expensive as a frameset?
What is missing îs a Dura ace toiletpaper holder.
I have that exact Bike except with ultegra.
So, no measuring the sadelheight this time!?
pink handlebar tape should be saved for final day tt bike
Now uou know who is going to win tommorrows stage
anyone here who is 175 to 180 cm tall who has experience with 165 mm cranks, I am 177 cm tall and using 172.5 mm and when I'm on the drops my quads slams in my torso, should I use shorter cranks??
You could raise your saddle height if you don't want to spend the money on new cranks to find out. If you measured the inside angle of your knee at the top of the stroke it shouldn't be less than about 70 deg. to avoid knee problems and a dead spot in your pedal stroke. Either yours is or your bike is way to small. But if raising your saddle makes the bottom of the stroke too far, then that means you need shorter cranks irrespective of hitting your chest. Because if the bottom of the stroke is too far and the top is too close (which yours is) a shorter crank will fix it. You may even need to raise your saddle and get shorter cranks.
I personally am 175 tall and find 172.5 to be to long for me but that depends on many variables other than just height. I use 170, never tried anything shorter.
My god...you could eat off that chain!
missing a bog roll holder. #sorrytomd
Judging by the comments someone followed through
What about the cranck lenght size? 175 mm?
Frame size?
Letting the side down Matt, frame size, reach and weight?
Can that seatmast accommodate a TP roll?
I'm not sold on it, It might disagree with me, I mean it did give Tom the shits..
Biggest ring on the cassette?
I don't really follow road cycling but I've been watching a few of these bike checks and something that pops up a few times has been bothering me. Can someone explain to me why the UCI has rulings on saddle position? Eg. How far forward and pitch. It certainly doesn't happen in mountain biking.
The UCI restrictions began as a way to ban recumbent bicycles in 1934. The aerodynamic advantage of the recumbent was so high that a second-tier rider was winning all the races against the finest athletes of the era, creating the first case of 'unfair advantage' in the sport. Read the story here: www.bikefix.co.uk/forbidden
what the frame size ?.
36 chainring it looks like. Too many pints Matt. ;)
The guy that put the seal on this body will stay in Japan
The transponder might be collecting more than just data...
giant大好き
けどマリアローザとか取ってるんだからそのカラーの自転車あげたりしたらもっと良いと思うんだよなぁ
Bike size?
I guess Tom didn't knew the purpose of the slot in his saddle...
Why are there bidons, in those toilet paper holders??!?!?!
can i know what size does tom uses?
56 sized frame?
cassette????
I see some skid marks there...
1:49 - brake looks out of alignment!
The curse strikes again!
Well shit happens
weight?
The GCN Curse strikes again. Have you guys consider that the pros will stop letting you do videos on them?
Tom needs a new brake cable...
AND... it all went to crap after this video =)
what size frame is that?
Well the curse worked
And Matt does it again cursing the Maglia Rosa's bike last year Kruijswijk's bike this year Dumoulin's. Keep Matt away from leaders bikes!
Tom Du-poo-lin
looks like both froomey and du-poo-lin have got the runs...
Does it come with a poop bag attachment?
THE GCN CURSE
That's definitely not a 39 tooth inner ring
It's a pretty "crappy" bike after what just happened.
1. I'd be happy if I never heard his supposed nickname that nobody but tv announcers call him ever again
and
2. If I mail you guys a tape measure will you use it? just give me an address
I'm sure it's a great bike but it doesn't inspire like some of the Italian brands
It's all gone to shit just recently tho' . . . I bet he's pissed off.
i do not liked it a bit not shiniy and fancy maybe work fine but we all need fancy items
Compact frames and tall or taller riders is just a no go for any aesthetics imho! Looks just horrible.
TD is amazing, but that is the ugliest bike ever featured on the show IMO
捷安特一定不會出TCR特仕車
seat post design and stem are ugly. otherwise a nice bike.
Bad choice of shoes... :) Should have worn flip flop instead...
no way has it got a higher stiffness : weight than the canyon evo
What are the numbers?
Obviously that bike shitness eerr I mean stiffness not good for the rider's stomach.
