I love Yakuza/Like A Dragon series and historical samurai setting so this is an instant YES. especially since this is the first time the game is released outside of Japan
Loving this game so far. I'm roughly 20 hours in and just barely got Into chapter 4. Going in I thought "oh I don't really care for the farming aspect" and yet here I am making sure all the crops are being grown, cooking all the meals, rescuing all of the pets, and making Haruka happy as if my life depends on it. Then when I jump back to the story missions I'm reminded how amazing of a narrative the game has, and then I'm torn. Do I grind out satisfying side content or do I push through the storyline? Fortunately there are no "missable" sidequests. That's a huge weight off my shoulders tbh. So far it's hard for my Yakuza fan bias not to show but the game is a banger. 10/10 for me ATM. And an excellent starting point for newcomers. Furthermore, there is a lot more than just reused character models. But store names, locations and other stuff have ties to the original series. Very satisfying in that regard.
I started play the Like a Dragon ishin last week. I completed all story.I love Edo period and Tosa and Kyo map are beautiful. My ancestor is upper class samurai and part of daimyō's family.
Yes,It is. Once you understand the system,You will love it. If you like Yakuza and Rurouni Kenshin,You will love this. And if you're Japanese's geek,You will love this game even more except some cast replacement which seem weird but other than that,It's must-play.
This is my first Yakuza game. I've played it for about 5 hours. Atleast two of those hours were spent chopping wood. Then I didn't play for a few months, came back to get back into it (on chapter 2 now~), but I made so much Ryo chopping wood in that first time playing that I don't need to worry about money lol This game is awesome and worth your time if you get into films and dramas set in this time of Japanese history~
@@rohjani3717one example is just bad mechanics for several events in game. you need to help a wounded or unconscious npc. You watch a quick scene, select medicine, and watch a yellow progress bar move up. To then just kick you out and then need to repeat. Up to 10ish times depending on the medicine you wanted to give them. The giving people food or what not didn't bother me because their progress bar wasn't built behind me going in and out of a menu repeatedly before making progress on said event.
I only have two gripes with the game. First, the animations are really stiff compared to the more recent games. And when you’re not in cutscenes or minigames, the game looks pretty bad. These wouldn’t even be gripes to me since I’m really enjoying everything else, but since it’s a full priced game that stood out to me.
From my experience, there isn't really any lag. However you can't really cancel animations once you initiate them so it can feel unresponsive at times due to that.
If you haven’t played any others I HIGHLY recommend playing at a minimum yakuza 0. Similar setup where it starts off slow, lot of cut scenes, and then just ramps up like crazy. 0 is an old game that has aged beautifully. Recently revisited in 2023 and it’s still in my all time top 5.
It's a nice "remake" sadly the original has better combat because of some dumb changes they made here like giving hyperarmor to evry Boss but it's nice for all the people Who couldn't play the original to have this overall imo evry yakuza Game is good
Ha. Then don't play 7 I guess man. There's not 1 but 2 female party members that kick ass. And i guess skip 5, cuz you'll play as Haruka. And the thing about all the men being evil....yeah alot of the villians are dudes.
So metroid bayonetta tomb raider all woke trash to you huh? 🙄 and before you think or say I'm woke or a sheep I could care less about woke or political agenda all together...probably the reason I don't make those type of comments on non political post...calling someone a sheep but you doing the same thing just for the other side that makes you a sheep for that side...crying everything is woke trash is just as annoying as the woke trash 💡...red pill or blue you still swallowed poison.. as the gi joes would say before commercial break "knowing is half the battle"

Just finished it one of my favorite games in the yakuza franchise.

The answer to both of those questions is HELL YES unless you don't like the Yakuza franchise or Samurai for some reason.

I've been actively playing this game for the passed week and loving it. I'm at chapter 5 now but taking my time doing side quest left and right.

The grind for resources is real. Otherwise it's a solid 8/10. With a few minor problems that kinda bother me.
What bothered u ? Combat related?

Absolutely loved Yakuza 7. Enjoyed the combat demo for this one so definitely will be getting it.

I'm a Udon makin, chicken racin, karaoke singin, Bakumatsu warlord lol 😂
That lag in battle just kills it for me.

This looks silly fun. Thank you for the info.
It started off slow, but once I got to chapter 4 it really opened up. I just hit chapter 6 and it is awesome now.

It's Ryoma
Great game, but it DOES seem real stingy with the resources. So many weapons look really cool, but the requirements to craft are a tad daunting
You can farm them in the dungeons

do you feel this game is worth the full $60 price tag? i thought it would have been less since its a remaster of an older game
Any yakuza game. I will buy regardless of price.
@@flyingknee23 can i sell you my copy for $1200 ?
@@bomjur na i already have it
Definitely not worth $59.99, or even $49.99. This is an inferior engine remake. Sega knew what they were doing with this.
I love the yakuza series and am having a blast with this game
So basically Yakuza Negative 18
I'll wait for Rise of the Ronin. 😉
Wtf is that the new Kenshin game??
@@PhillyTJ Google is your friend. You dont have to ask stupid questions and wait for the answer when you could easily get it in the search engine.
I love this game, but damn it has a god awful camera. The import did not have this issue
Not worth it, trust me and I love most of the yakuza games
this game releasing close to wo long is kinda crazy, honestly anyone will probably prefer that over this...
Wo long doesn't look great though
nah. yakuza >
Different flavors. Ancient Japan Samurai beat em up. And Nioh like game style with ancient chinese warriors instead. No comparison in any level.
Yea you should
Do I have to play a strong female lead? Are all the women bosses? Are all the men weak or evil? No? Count me in!
Lol the good thing about the Yakuza series is its definetly not woke.

Thank god for the Japanese.
... why do you care?
Too bad they didnt continue the stylr from the last one. Looks like a hard skip for me
I played the demo and hated it
I hate the camera sooooo much.
Yeah it seems they haven't figured out how to rotate the camera with the player yet.
