Hey Jazza -- wow - you really brought this picture to life! I love the almost "children's-book-illustration"-style you got from mixing and contrasting the colors in such radiant and whimsical way.
You have no idea how much this has helped me, I've been struggling so much with colouring and you have helped me so much, so thank you! I really can stress how much you've helped
Hello Jazza from the past! I just want you to know I've seen your future and want to you to even though it may not be absolutely perfect, you're going to go so far and do so much with you incredible talent and even your family (yes keep that glimmer of hope strong). Even though I've seen you go through some hard times and make some difficult decisions, you will make it through and have so much support along the way. You know about the hardships of rejection and feeling defeated, but you will grow so much and become more mature to become almost immune to negativity. Just know in your future you are a trailblazer and trendsetter, and a source of positive energy to so many people in their own situations and lifestyles, helping us all to continue forward with our own feelings of confidence and courage to not be afraid of "failure" or to make mistakes. I just want to Thankyou for being you and going through all these tough times, whirlwind emotions, and putting yourself out there so much for what has become something so wonderful. And it will continue to grow and flourish as long as you stay true to you.
Being in an art class for the first time, I find myself having trouble with using new mediums. Every time I've looked on RUclips for help, I'm drawn to this channel from the search bar. Liked and subscribed
Excellent demonstration video with clear and easy to follow direction! For myself as a relative new comer to coloring, it has helped me to advance more into this art field to open up many more coloring options.
Great tips on shading. Thanks! I really enjoyed this video. I would have never thought to start lightly with darker colors and then keep shading by adding more color but lightly. I'm just a beginner but I bought a few really nice Colorama books and am looking forward to some really nice work. I also look forward to more videos from you so I subscribed.
Derwent and Faber Castell are budgety? I always thought those, along with Prismacolor were the best on the market (I wished I could afford them anyway). I have been using Crayola (what my profile pic was done with), that's what I consider "budgety".
I just watched at least ten shading videos and this is by far the best. Completely comprehensive and beautifully explained. Thank you so much. I really think I'll improve from this and I'll definitely be subscribing.
I didn't realize this was Jazza until I hear him say "Good day ladies and gentlemen and welcome to draw with Jazza" Yes, I didn't realize when the intro was playing I immediately needed the tutorial so I couldn't focus lmao
Thank you for taking the time to make that video. It was very helpful for me. Watching you I realize I need to lighten up on my pencil pressure and work on the cross shading motion.
I've been drawing with only pencil my whole life. But I'm getting tired of only black and white. I've been trying to use colored pencils but it's like I'm having to learn how to draw all over again 😫
Don't worry, I create amazing drawings with Crayola colored pencils that everyone in my class loves! A year ago I was SO BAD at drawing, but now I'm the opposite. I just have been practicing.
Hey Jazza I just subbed to you and wanted to say that I love your style and think you're a really talented, amazing artist. In fact you made me want to start drawing myself, I stopped when I was a kid after I developed really shaky hands. Thanks for inspiring me.
i just want to say you were a very big help i myself am an artist and i was have a hard time with shading, i will tell you this helped alot and you gave me colored pensil ideas to get and you explained very well so i want to thank you also you just got a like and a follower!
Thanks for this video, love it!! I love adult colouring books and have always wanted to add shading to my pictures but have never dared to, watching your video has given me the confidence to go for it.
Wonderful! I love coloring with pencil crayons, but have had difficulty getting the shading. This is a really well rounded tutorial, and it all makes perfect sense. Thank you for all of the amazing videos Jazza :)
Hey, I really love your pencil, color pencil and ink tutorials. Currently I'm playing around with some polychromos pencils and it's like you read my mind when you did this video! I really hope to see more of your "traditional" drawings
My neighbor got me Prismacolor Premier colored pencils for Christmas last year (he knows I'm an aspiring artist) and this helped a lot. WHO GIVES THEIR NEIGHBOR'S KID $60.00 COLORED PENCILS, THOUGH?!
Great job~ Love this, and the background music x'D. I've noticed artists tend to make the color pallete all similar colors rather than Different colors, but same shade.
Until this video, I shaded with colored pencils by drawing side by side strips of close colors until I got the gradient color order, then I used a q-tip to blend the entire thing together. It worked ok, but this video saved my life. Thanks Jazza :D
Great video. One of my favorite how to videos on RUclips. What would be really great is do one of these again or with this one, but have a image available for download so people can try to recreate what you are teaching so they have something to compare it to so they can see how well they followed your lessons :)
I'm tired of RUclips, but I really love your videos! One thing... I couldn't hear clearly what studio pencils you're using? It would be great to know that.
Thank you so much. I've Always been known as the coloring book queen because I used to bu them like crazy for our adult coloring group. I lost a lot of them when I moved from my apartment to a Rehab when I started helping there better to be busy then to wallow. And I discovered I could sew mini felt objects when I moved rehabs. But I bought a few Coloring books from that big-name A
Jazza this vid was shown at my class about 2 years ago when you first released it and for the rest of that year we were watched by are teacher every time we coloured in pencil to see if we were doing it like you were. It wasn't fun. Other than that I would just like to say that i'm a subscribe and i subscribed around 1 year ago, when I subscribed I had no idea you made that vid UNTIL NOW!! When we were shown this vid in class, I was in Year 6.
If you are deaf, it is so helpful to have the words on the screen - at least a general idea. I did find the cross-hatch shading to be a great technique for getting smooth color. Thanks.
thanks so much! this was a lovely tutorial and i hope i could pull it off. i have an art project and i've been pretty decent with normal pencils, but since i'm a perfectionist i never attempted using colors cause of the fear of messing up; but you've helped me tons and i just might be able to create an art project to amaze!
What about small pack of staedler color pencils? Are they good for this, because I can't find better than this in Serbia and I can't afford to order them from America or any other place everytime the get small and blunt
Thank You for your video, it helped me understand gradient and shading etc. I liked the way your present your video with you in the view, makes it more like a live example. I will certainly go and see what other ones you have.....Thanks for sharing.
i just need to thank you very much you just inspired me to chase my dream once more its always nice to learn new Technics for the future little tid bits and the basics again thank you i will try my best on every drawing even if it is a sketch
HI!!! i would just like to know if those coloring pencils are expensive?? if they are then i would suggest doing a video on coloring with cheap pencils as some people (like me) may not have access to expensive pencils like that. Other than that i loved the video and it helped me out a lot!! keep on going forward!!
I have never EVER been good with coloring in my drawings, about finished with an ink pen drawing, now to try these technics to color it in XD Thanks for the help!!!
Jazza, I have a great idea for a video that will help me and many others, you should do a video on how to make animations that are at the best quality (Not Rubbish drawings or animation) BUT are quick to make (like 1 to 2 weeks each). This would help us greatly because many of us either rush our animations sacrificing quality or take months doing a high quality 4 minute animation. Thanks
This couldn't have come at a better time, just about to start colouring a harry potter piece! Normally would use plain pencil shading. Good skills buddy
cheers this was my first attempt with my new pencils and despite hand drawing image and not having ink outlines, not to mention faber castells, it came out quite well. Did you find when you first started you were colouring too light? it took me a while to build colours.
GREAT TUTORIAL,!! Thank you so much for sharing, now I gotta get my Derwents & do some coloring using all your suggestions 😊. What's the brand of your eraser? I've tried several from Hobby Lobby, but no much success in getting any color lifted. I know colored pencil is a challenge to erase, but it looked like the one you used did remove a fair amt of color. I'm so glad I came across your channel & am now a follower. Do you work w/ Prismas? I'd love to learn the tips & tricks of blending prismas as well as any suggestions on how to work w/ a broken core?. Take care & Happy Coloring 😃🖍🖌
I'm glad I found this tutorial, I've just started using Derwent Artists pencils ( Which are pretty much the same as Studio), and been wondering what I've been doing wrong lately. =)
Wow Jazza seeing this video while it's 2018 and you have 2Million &above subs it's cool seeing you improve from this to your amazing artwork with your son MINI jazza
I’m a newbie at this and I thoroughly enjoy the details you’ve placed in each stroke. I do have a question. How do you know when to shadow? On the shirt you did the back and under the neck. On the face, you shadowed on the forehead and on the hand, the area near the thumb. How do you choose these areas?
Hey Jazza -- wow - you really brought this picture to life! I love the almost "children's-book-illustration"-style you got from mixing and contrasting the colors in such radiant and whimsical way.

i appreciate being shown the shading, I find it very difficult to decide where shading should happen when looking at a picture.

Me too, and when I do, it screws up the whole picture

Same - most of my drawing are kinda like portraits, so I have trouble deciding where to shade
My teacher used this vid to show my class how to shade

This was very helpful. Thank you so much. Probably the best way explained.
Watching this in the last week of December 2017 and Jazza has grown so much!
Thank you for existing.
This is 1. Very helpful, 2. Fascinating to watch and 3. Soothing because Jazza’s voice is the kind of thing you want to nuzzle with.
The numerous tips you gave in this video drastically improved my colouring skills. Thank you so much. This is immensely helpful.
You have no idea how much this has helped me, I've been struggling so much with colouring and you have helped me so much, so thank you! I really can stress how much you've helped

I so love this pencil design. Especially the blue tip. So cool.

I've delved too deep into this poor mans account

The touch of acid green towards the end was master class.
OMG THE KID LOOKS LIKE DONALD TRUMP WHEN YOU JUST STARTED PUTTING THE BASE COLOR
Trump would pour acid in America to make it "great" again.

this was the first ever video I watched of jazza that got me into this channel AHHHHH 💓💖💓💖💓💖

Jazza, this video helped me a LOT! I really love the way how the light radiates from the goo xD

Thank you so much!! My shading doesn't look nearly this good. And when I draw superheroes with glowing powers I now know how to make that glowy look!
You are very talented! That image was awesome when you colored it, I loved the haze around the poison.
What about small pack of staedler color pencils? Are they good for this, because I can't find better than this in Serbia and I can't afford to order them from America or any other place everytime the get small and blunt
The next big step in my artistic campaign is color, and this has been very helpful. thank you
I learned a great deal from this and cannot wait to have a go with some colouring tomorrow.
Amazing! Thanks a lot Jazza, you're awesome!

thank you, I was having a lot of trouble with colouring and never seemed to shade right. This was really helpful!
Wow, I never knew that colouring could look so good, I usually only colour in block solids with noticeable lines all over it.
Wonderful tutorial! The only thing I could add is that from my experience the best pencil sharpener is a good small knife or box cutter.
