My thoughs exactly. People say: "well, cyberpunk was a total mess, and now people are using it to shame Bethesda how thing should be done. Starfield will be briliant in two years". Here's a problem, CDPR knew they fucked up, they apologize and try their best to reclaim their reputation. Howard and the rest are literally saying that if someone doesn't like Starfield as it is, it's because they don't understand how games are made, and how Stafield is real "next gen" wonder. With that narcissistic attitude they will never, ever have a redemption arc like Cyberpunk

Years later, the game becomes good with new updates and batches. Meanwhile, Ain't nobody will remember Starfield for next 5 years, or even next year. It's even look boring compared to No Man's Sky. Even the NPCs are not having personalities or even reactions. Todd will never recover from this.
Only problem with Sean Murray's new game idea is that if it's all play focused stuff it can die fast leaving a empty unfun world. I hope he has plans since he learned a lot from his No Man Sky flop and manged to get himself out that grave.

I know Fallout 4 has its problems (the voiced protagonist and limited dialogue being my biggest one) but it's still a really good game. I love it just for the better combat and crafting. I love that every object can be scrapped into materials, it makes scavenging so much more worth it than the previous games. Especially if you like building, which is my personal favorite thing about the game. With the DLC you can even build a factory to produce pretty much whatever items you want. If the next Elder Scrolls has the settlement building feature I'm buying it despite Starfield being a bit of a letdown.

And then there's the tactical elements, which are what armor you can wear (there's a lot), what drugs you can use (there's a lot), what perks you have (there's a lot), what weapons and mods for them you can use (there's a lot), and finally VATS, which again is a unique feature that no other game has. If you disregard the main story and just run around the world fighting and looting and crafting and building then it's one of the best games ever made. What would you consider a better single player FPS game and why? More than one? I've provided plenty of examples and all you can come up with it "it's bad" without any further explanation. Because you don't have any, you just go along with the crowd. Even if you could come up with some weak example or two it still doesn't invalidate MY argument and all the examples I've provided. It sucks that you don't enjoy it, but Fallout 4 is far from being a bad game.

Stop complaining about the Engine. This is not a problem at all, no real fan should ever complain about this. It's incredible modable and that's what made so many wonderful mods with amazing content be made. Almost everyone can mod their games and implement any kind of content into it, that's the greatest trace ever. The problem is that they are lazy, they could improve the engine to make them able to handle things better and if they polished the game long enough then their games wouldnt release with that many bugs.

I remember when you first put out the video with the Starfield vs Fallout water physics. The fact that the Fallout physics were far more impressive was extremely disappointing. That's on the smaller side of issues I had in the game. Game needed more time in the oven.
It's like making the dough, spreading some tomato sauce and cheese and telling you to eat that "pizza". It wasn't even in the oven in the first place. I guess it's still playable so that's a bit harsh. Maybe it was set for 10 minutes with no preheating?

That's not some dumb nitpick, that's highlighting an appalling level of incompetence. There's a trend of AAA Western devs making their games actually mechanically worse - physics, interactivity, immersion, player gameplay input, etc. are massively dumbed down. Its insane how games from 10, 15 or over 20 years ago had far more details and in-world reactivity to the gameplay than modern games.

But even the Enclave were a little bit on that standpoint of being practically 2-dimensional being the evil faction who just wants to eliminate life to show they are superior beings even Frank Horrigan was just the typical "Im the right hand man, and i challenge you" muscle guy from any 80s action hero movies. Not to also mention the obvious "Chosen one" thing. But i do say from my thoughts is that Fallout 2 is still a good game, sure the atmosphere and vibe completely changed from dreadfully lonely, and some of it's art-style to somewhat an extent... Okay really it felt like some 90s Anime journey adventure where whacky shit happens and stuff, especially having a ragtag group of interesting individuals from a simple skilled hunter to literally Skynet,, K-9, A Deathclaw Scholar and even the fantasy magic of "spirital power" of Grampybone within Sulik. But also well... Fallout 3 did a good job of retaining what the 1st game had and really, Fallout 3 is kinda of the mix of Fallout 1 and 2 crammed together for something new but it's still nice.

I seems like Bethesda games just go backwards in quality. Playing new vagus and it has mechanics like bullet counted reload and different ammo types while in f4 you need mods to do the same thing. Starfield's water doesn't even have a bottom, lakes and ponds go straight to the void.
Fallout 4 and subsequently Fallout 76 were insults to fans of Skyrim, New Vegas, Fallout 3, etc. It amazes me that they had almost 10 years to rectify their problems and didn't learn a goddamn thing. Here's to Elder Scrolls 6! Get ready to be disappointed again!

In the other fallouts, (excluding 3), you had SO many options for where you could go with the story because of the dialogue system that allowed you to actually do interesting things. The most terrifying element of this space horror is, Saturn is just a rubber ball with rings in Space... I mean how are you suppose to land on a Planet if it bounces you off?. Idk i tried that a couple of months ago and my games data got corrupted. From a fresh play through with no mods. I haven't experienced that from Bethesda unless mods were involved.
Idk man, that’s a tall fucking order. Skyrim was a hell of a ride the first time without mods, and despite the shit story, I enjoyed playing in the world of Fallout 4. Both of those games had a stronger base for modding, but Starfield isn’t really fun to play or interact with. I don’t even know where modders would start, if they even had the inspiration too do so. I mean shit, I just downloaded a mod for Skyrim that came out this year and it adds over 400 lines of dialogue for Lydia of all followers! I just don’t think Starfield even has that spark to inspire a real modding scene. It’s just…..Not fun. Maybe I’ll be wrong, we will just have to wait and see.

Ive been playing new vegas... no mods. And it holds up because i can walk to a town help the people and build up conections that will later be added to my final fight... but having to pass through three loading screens back to back kills me in some places Stanfield is just the loading screens and i cant just walk into a town because there are no people who need help with anything except checking on someone who is five loading screens away

There's a trend of AAA Western devs making their games actually mechanically worse - physics, interactivity, immersion, player gameplay input, etc. are massively dumbed down. Its insane how games from 10, 15 or over 20 years ago had far more details and in-world reactivity to the gameplay than modern games.
the fact that you acknowledge they're same engine helps prove my point. They took compromises to make Starfield objectively look better than Fallout 4 and run objectively smoother. They unfortunately removed some minimal detailing only nitpickers notice.
Again, this is hardly a defense of starfield, that game still sucks ass.

@FEVRobert I'd like to hear your opinion more on that statement of fallout 2, not saying it's bad and i do agree, the pretentious amount of pop-culture is quite something. But even the Enclave were a little bit on that standpoint of being practically 2-dimensional being the evil faction who just wants to eliminate life to show they are superior beings even Frank Horrigan was just the typical "Im the right hand man, and i challenge you" muscle guy from any 80s action hero movies. Not to also mention the obvious "Chosen one" thing.
But i do say from my thoughts is that Fallout 2 is still a good game, sure the atmosphere and vibe completely changed from dreadfully lonely, and some of it's art-style to somewhat an extent... Okay really it felt like some 90s Anime journey adventure where whacky shit happens and stuff, especially having a ragtag group of interesting individuals from a simple skilled hunter to literally Skynet,, K-9, A Deathclaw Scholar and even the fantasy magic of "spirital power" of Grampybone within Sulik.
But also well... Fallout 3 did a good job of retaining what the 1st game had and really, Fallout 3 is kinda of the mix of Fallout 1 and 2 crammed together for something new but it's still nice.

I seems like Bethesda games just go backwards in quality. Playing new vagus and it has mechanics like bullet counted reload and different ammo types while in f4 you need mods to do the same thing. Starfield's water doesn't even have a bottom, lakes and ponds go straight to the void.

In the other fallouts, (excluding 3), you had SO many options for where you could go with the story because of the dialogue system that allowed you to actually do interesting things.
Fallout 4's dialogue options were "Yes," "Yes with sass," and "No".

i liek the supernatural aspects of Starfield, unexplained water behaviors, ladder rotates in mid-air, bodies melt into floors and walls leaving you in an out of body experience as your ship you were in fly off without you into the Distant Stars. The most terrifying element of this space horror is, Saturn is just a rubber ball with rings in Space... I mean how are you suppose to land on a Planet if it bounces you off?. Truly a Masterwork of a Horror game. Terrifyingly terrorble...

Idk i tried that a couple of months ago and my games data got corrupted. From a fresh play through with no mods. I haven't experienced that from Bethesda unless mods were involved.

Idk man, that’s a tall fucking order. Skyrim was a hell of a ride the first time without mods, and despite the shit story, I enjoyed playing in the world of Fallout 4. Both of those games had a stronger base for modding, but Starfield isn’t really fun to play or interact with. I don’t even know where modders would start, if they even had the inspiration too do so.
I mean shit, I just downloaded a mod for Skyrim that came out this year and it adds over 400 lines of dialogue for Lydia of all followers! I just don’t think Starfield even has that spark to inspire a real modding scene. It’s just…..Not fun. Maybe I’ll be wrong, we will just have to wait and see.

Ive been playing new vegas... no mods. And it holds up because i can walk to a town help the people and build up conections that will later be added to my final fight... but having to pass through three loading screens back to back kills me in some places
Stanfield is just the loading screens and i cant just walk into a town because there are no people who need help with anything except checking on someone who is five loading screens away
from what i've seen it's like those weird 50 cent early access games that never get finished that are all over steam.
