maam thank you soo much, in the latest version of android studio i just needed to open android studio -> tools-> create desktop that is the only difference from this video, i was soo tired of using snap store's android studio it was full of bugs now my android studio runs perfectly thank you soo much dude
I enjoyed your video, but I noticed that the title says "2023" while the video was uploaded in 2020. I assume that this was a typo, so I would suggest editing the title to reflect the actual year of the video.
The title reflects the current installation, valid for 2023, hopefully it will be valid in 2024 as well. The title is for your own sake to find the correct content here on RUclips.
@@LinuxH2O .. unfortunately that looks like a no go at the moment ... the story is ... I have this old tablet about 8 years old that I have used very little ... so I thought why not download the studio and learn about how they are programmed if it goes wrong the worst that happens is I loose an old tablet. On trying to run the emulator for "ice cream sandwich" it gives me an error message. I tried googling the error message and giving the permissions it suggested but still no go. So I thought why not upgrade the android version.... lol .... several hours later I think to myself " I think I'll put that one on hold for now".
@@LinuxH2O .. in Android studio on the System Image Screen, choosing the X86 Images there are two versions that would emulate the old tablet. Gingerbread, which it states is deprecated and Ice Cream Sandwich which it does not state as deprecated. But when you try to select and use ICS, Studio will not highlight the 'next' button so you can't progress with that version of Android to the next screen. That's the issue. Looking at the "Api level distribution chart" .... only 0.2% of android users are still using that version of Android. Thanks for the offer of help .... but I think it now comes down to whether I want to buy a new tablet with a more modern Android system on it. For now I will just "Emulate" at a higher level and see how I get on and if things progress then I will dip into my pocket and buy a new tablet.
1st of all why are you trying to create an ICS virtual device when you already have a physical ICS tablet. Just install the SDK build tools for ICS and create an app project with minimum api set to ICS version that is in your tablet. And you are good to go. A higher api version of virtual device can run an app lower targeting api version, so no issue there as well.

Doesn't matter. You will be able to perform all the things in both operating systems. I can list Linux benifits but it all boils down to the system that you are gonna use the most.
You can run with 4GB (building a process will be like 3-10 minutes) but for optimal performance DDR4 8GB minimum would be good and don't forget a good processor as well. Android Studio doesn't require that much but Java is the culprit as there will be 2 - 3 Java processes running in the background and eating most of the RAM.
Android studio, as I have in the video, has a different kind of installation, it's not like any other application. If you want to start it from the terminal, you have got few options, either use an alias or install it with Flathub / Snap or create a symlink Alias guide: ruclips.net/video/N7TJ5lxnItM/видео.html
What if my installation window is not showing the Android building tools and all the tools , it gives me a blank window saying can't find or something like that .and if I press next till the end finally it says Android sdk is missing. I'm running Kali Linux in laptop.

Android studio creates a project with wizard, takes too much time with gradle stupidity and then finds errors its own created project. how stupid. why dont these guys use only java or any other language simply. Android studio too much buggy and noisier.
