    If for some reason you can't see your SSD pop up when choosing where to install the OS, go to the bios and change SATA to AHCI instead of RAID

    Just throwing it out there
    I use Fedora mainly and have a dual boot windows set up. If you run windows on its own separate drive to the linux one it seems to work just fine (as fine as windows can anyways, lol)

      Haha yep. That seems to be the way to go. I just personally do the one OS route.

    Hi, so I'm considering switching from Windows 10 to Linux Fedora 40, but I would like to test it on my laptop first via live usb test, just to see how the OS runs directly on my hardware without changing anything on my system. When I get to the Grub menu at 7:51, do I select the second option that says "Test this media" rather than the first one for what I'm doing? This is my first time doing this as well.

    • @Digital-Scriptorium
      @Digital-Scriptorium  3 месяца назад +3

      Test the media basically checks the files and thumb drive are ok. Using the top option is fine to use as the live OS test.

      @@Digital-Scriptorium Thank you, sounds good. Is it also necessary to format your USB drive to fat32 beforehand as well, or is that not needed?

    • @Digital-Scriptorium
      @Digital-Scriptorium  3 месяца назад +3

      @@kene9073 that's not needed. If you're using Rufus it will auto detect what's needed for the format. So just let it work it's magic.

    Thank you for this, btw can you give commands for the proper way to install the best multimedia stuff? Is it gstreamer? Been 1+ years since I used fedora and I have forgotten and I remember last time it was hassle.
    I want to run all avc, hevc, av1, all anime, CGI, 1080p 4K videos without any lag, stuttering and screen tear. I will install mpv for that but the multimedia commands are very difficult for me to manage.
