God, this is one of the few scenes in the series that transcends the original scene in the book. That story about Lily’s gift to Slughorn is beautiful and the way it flows into Harry motivating Slughorn to give the memory is so poignant and convincing.

I don't think Harry Potter ever thought badly of Horace Slughorn. But sometimes you have to tell the truth and always remember that your family will be there by your side. Because the best part about telling the truth is letting go of the burden in your heart and sure you may lose some friends along the way and it will hurt but in time they will understand. I even believe that telling the truth to God is even better because he wants to see his children be at peace then live with burden

i feel slughorns strengeth as a character often gets overlooked. can you imagine the pain and burden slughorn carried with himself all these years? the knowldge that he was a major reason voldemorde became so powerful and seemingly unstoppable? that he told the very worst "human" (voldemord barely classified as one in the end) of all time how to make himself practically immortal? his last line here "please don't think badly of me, you have no idea what he was like even back then" is so powerful. truly shows how voldemord was always nothing short of a perfect, inhumane predator, all the worst traits of mankind put into a single person
I believe they say in the book that Tom had already created a Horcrux when he asked Slughorn about them. He just wanted to know what would happen if he created multiple Horcruxes.

The way I have seen Horace Slughorn is that he's a very kind person he has been a good friend to Dumbledore for years and he's been very kind to Harry but in his heart he carried that burden for years. So it is true that Harry Potter has forgiven him and because of all the kindness that Harry has in his heart he has gained so much friendship and so much love and that is something that Voldemort can never have. Even Dumbledore once said don't pity the dead Harry pity the living and above all those who live without love. Most of the time it just makes me want to start crying because despite how cruel people can be towards me at work it mostly breaks my heart and I still feel sorry for them. I just hope that God will give them a better Breaking Point even into realizing that they are hurting the very people that worry about them and I hope that he will teach them a valuable lesson in treating people with kindness and cooperation and if at all possible teach them to become better people towards others. Because as my mother always told me God does not like ugly.

For example everlasting ink, is a ink that has been charmed to never fade. If the charm wore off the second the caster died it wouldn’t be everlasting know would it. Although you are not entirely wrong, as most spells cast have a lifespan. But this doesn’t apply to all spells.

She told the guy, who was lying in agony and bleeding in the stomach, that no one wanted him; that he deserved this slow painfuI dėath and would make everyone he knew happy once he was gone. _THANKFULLY_ ...he was rescued in time. The police arrested the woman and an ambulance took the guy to the hospital. They _BARELY_ saved his life. He's gonna be okay. But of course, that doesn't mean I don't feel like a bad guy for the way I treated him. Just think...if he'd have actually passed, our last moment together would've been in the office. _That's_ how I realized that I was partly wrong and mishandled the situation. You can address someone's mistake, but you _need_ to show some respect and tact. I didn't. I made this friendly, conscientious guy feel like a creep who needed to be reprimanded. First, it was _my_ insensitivity that made him feel guilt, and then it was that disgusting "Bellatrix" who made him feel unlovable and dėath-deserving. I hope she gets life. Actually he already knew about horcruxes as the book that detailed how to make them was available. Riddle was looking for a second opinion on whether it was possible to split his soul more than once and make several horcruxes as there was no record on that phenomenon. Slughorn is a very accomplished academic and so his opinion was worth noting which is why Riddle sought it out.

I don't get how people overlook that Voldemort probably would have learned about them anyways.
Actually he already knew about horcruxes as the book that detailed how to make them was available. Riddle was looking for a second opinion on whether it was possible to split his soul more than once and make several horcruxes as there was no record on that phenomenon. Slughorn is a very accomplished academic and so his opinion was worth noting which is why Riddle sought it out.
