This song is essentially about the band's desire to dominate the world with their music.
The maids were the first of the Japanese bands I found. I was so impressed that I devoured three of their songs when I should have been in bed, "Domination," "Blooming," and "Dice.' I was so excited by their musicality that I told damn near my entire office about them, and I went home and told my wife, "You _have_ to hear this."
I had a similar experience but when I ran to tell others...I was pretty much blown off...I'm still trying though...They are too good to give up promoting their awesomeness !

BAND-MAID is a band out of the ordinary in every way.
Miku Kobato the rhythm guitarist and co-vocalist is the creator of the band and the one who usually writes the lyrics of the songs, she is the main frontwoman of the band.
The leader of BAND-MAID was the drummer, Akane Hirose, the goddess of tempo, by democratic election among all of them, but nowadays none of them is the leader of BAND-MAID. Saiki Atsumi, the lead vocalist concentrates on that, although when she takes the lead in the song she takes over the whole stage. Misa the bassist usually plays barefoot and although it seems that she is always a bit in the shadows her bass shines constantly throughout the song and Kanami Tono, the lead guitarist, is the personalization of the Magic, which at times is Black at times is White but always bewitches you, she is the composer of most of the songs of the Band.
Their Rock does not conform to any genre or any established pattern, they own their own style, both visually and musically. You can call it The BAND-MAID Rules.

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I am a big fan of BABYMETAL like you and Band-Maid as well. On Sep.7, I witnessed Band-Maid's concert at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo ヽ(^o^)丿. "Domination" was played as the 21st song 😍. We, the audience, got excited when this song started, of course, but at the same time we felt a little bit sad because it was the last song, the end of the show. In addition we were not allowed to make a noise at the venue due to precautions against COVID. So we had to swallow our voices meaning no "Hello, Hello!". What we could do was pumping our arms vigorously to commands by Saiki and Miku. The final and most intense pumping made my shoulder more fatigued, then it became a happy sore in the morning after. 🤣

I know of no better rock band on planet earth 🌍 than Band-Maid. They are masters of all aspects of rock music and performance. Their work ethic and attention to detail is second to none. They are the standard to which all other bands strive to attain; whether they know it or not, imho. I’ve been around since the days of The Beatles and Band-Maid is one of those few bands who puts it all together in a way only the rare few bands do. They are incredibly prolific - every album and release is top quality, while at the same time they grow and improve their craft. Congratulations on finding them; you’ll be very glad you did 😊

Kanami (lead guitar) is just a genius songsmith. Add to that Miku's poetic lyrics and backing vocals, Saiki's hypnotizing voice, Misa's intricate bass lines and Akane's imaginative drum patterns, it's all GOLD. You're gonna LOVE Sense! Just saying ;)

I think the song is about going (or running) to new places (unknown world) to see and greet them (Hello hello hello) and dominate them with music (not a joke).
Band-Maid lyrics are often positive and several are about things they have experienced. Miku also uses a lot of metaphor and flowery phrases (even making up new words), making translation difficult/imposible.
Superbly illustrated in this song where the ENGLISH parts are "mistranslated" 🙃
That’s the thing with these bands, it’s not because they’re women, it’s not because they wear maid costumes or ball gowns or uniforms, it’s not because they’re Japanese, it’s because they make excellent music and look like they are having a blast doing it. Top tip - Hanabie, now those girls know how to party! 😜
I feel the thing that separates them from similar bands is that they write a lot of their songs themselves, if not most. And the musicianship.
They write all their songs these days. They won creative control before their 2017 album Just Bring It. That album and World Domination (2018) were mostly self-written, and everything since then has been entirely self-written.
I went to their show in NYC on October 28th and it was AMAZING. I'm 75 and I just checked one off my bucket list. They sound just as good live in person as their live videos. You HAVE to see them on their next tour.

Japan has a wealth of great young female musicians, thanks to the inspiration from anime K-On! (I’m not kidding) and the fact that most boys flock to Baseball and Soccer clubs in school, leaving the girls to fill up most of the musical clubs.

Nice reaction. I think it might be a good idea to watch their MV to better understand what the lyrics imply. It doesn't have that amazing breakdown though. These ladies tend to add something extra to their songs, whenever possible, for their live "servings".

Cool. So, this was there last concert before COVID. They've gotten better since. A lot of time to compose and practice. Their most recent album, Unseen World, is amazing. Check out Blooming MV or Manners/Blackhole official live video. And then, any of their hundred other songs. Gacharic Spin is another all-girl band with great players. Listen to a live performance of Mind Set.
Maybe with the phrase "Hello Hello Hello Hello" is a bit similar as when we create software or IA... the first lines we wish as a response back is "Hello World" as in coming into the excistence. Such as baby's that are born while crying similar as saying "Hello" to the world they are born into.
Domination by Band-Maid is introducing their music over the whole world, so better that we start saying "Hello" first. 🙂

MIKU “I used to work in a maid café! I would wear cute uniforms every day and entertain our customers, who we call masters and princesses. At the same time I was really into metal and rock music, and I thought how different the two worlds were. Here I am at work, singing super cute songs to a milkshake - it’s how we make them extra tasty - but on the way home I have my headphones in, blasting Maximum The Hormone. I thought that it would be cool to combine cute uniforms with cool music, so I set about recruiting the members of Band-Maid.”

Interviewer: Why should people listen to Band-Maid?
MIKU “We’re not a pop idol group! Don’t judge us on how we look. We want to blow you away with our heavy rock sound.”
Interviewer: For those who don’t know about Band-Maid, what are you about?
MIKU: “Band-Maid’s concept is about creating contrast - how we look and how we sound are worlds apart. One is cute and submissive in nature, the other is wild, powerful and dominant. I thought that idea was interesting. Basically, we want to defy expectations.”

Mandatory music education in primary school in Japan. In high school, girls continue with music, i.e., marching or sit-down band or club (Rock) bands. Most boys go to sports. This is the results, Po! The best Hard Rock band in the world, and they are just getting started. They will be on tour here in the US from Oct. 9 - Nov. 1, 2022. Great workout/reaction, Po!
Saiki is an alto whereas most lead female vocalists are sopranos i.e. have a higher register but that doesn't really explain the power or richness of her pipes
Saiki and Fuki are the two best all around Japanese female vocalists in rock/metal that I have heard, and I have heard quite a few

Well, even though with one day delay, but after I finally see a video to Band-Maid from you, the emoji which describes my day can only be 🤘🏻.
With all the excellent bands from the Far East, it's these ladies who are at the top of the food chain for me. 5 really talented musicians and entertainers between whom I don't think the balance could be more even. Without exception, each of them is an equally strong pillar in the construct of this band and there seems to be no such thing as ego, which is also noticeable in their songs. Everyone gets their time to shine, with no one overdoing it or taking anything away from the other. It's always about the big picture of the song and/or the performance.
Looking forward already to 'Sense'. Maybe you should think about putting on some safety belts, so you don't fall off your treadmill. 😇 Or shift up a few gears. :)

Welcome to the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD!!!! 98% of their songs are best viewed LIVE. There are a few where the MV is better until the Ladies release a new LIVE version of those songs. Of which "Warning" is one. Car chases, explosions, beautiful women and Hard Rock, it is all in there. There are one or two others, but those are debated heavily between us Maidiacs.

Now for what I term the Band-Maid Info-Dump;
Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead.
Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition.
Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition.
Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music.
Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance.
And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD!

Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their RUclips channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill.
Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid.

Thrill was from their album New Beginning which was released in November, 2015. They didn't write any of the songs or lyrics on the album and it was only 33 minutes. As mentioned, Miku didn't even know how to play guitar at the time. The album went nowhere in Japan (Charted on Oricon at #64 -Ed) and their small label called Gump was about to drop them. Gump's plan was to keep Miku and Saiki as a singing and dancing duo and let the rest go. Then a miracle happened. The music video for Thrill became a huge hit on RUclips, especially in the west. Band-Maid was saved and they changed labels to Crown Stones (a sub-label to a really big Japanese media company called Nippon Crown). Their 2016 album, Brand New maid, peaked at #19 on the Japanese charts but only one song was written by Kanami and it was only 31 minutes in length. Finally, in January 2017, they released the album Just Bring It which was a full album at 50 minutes. More importantly, 9 of the 13 songs were written by Kanami. In my opinion, it was the first true Band-Maid album. The album got as high as #16 in Japan and also charted in the UK. The next 3 albums - World Domination, Conqueror and Unseen World - all charted top 10 in Japan and charted overseas. All the songs were written by Kanami. She is the one that has pushed Misa and Akane to be as good as they are now, and also very successfully taught Miku to play guitar.

Saiki is like a dominatrix, she demands that the crowd respond to her commands. Saiki and MISA are the ones dressed in Gothic. Actually when the group began they all wore similar outfits, then as time went on Saiki and MISA turned Gothic on us. Most often MISA and Kanami are doing their solos at the same time. As usual Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!

Congratulations, you just changed your and your daughters life ! That's the power of Band Maid. Saiki (Vo), was the last addition to the band. Miku (Gu+Vo) was the original singer but after the first month realised her voice was not strong enough to sing against rock guitar. Saiki performed for the same management company as Band Maid and when Miku heard her told her manager, I want her ! They didn't tell Saiki about the maid clothes or she would not have joined she only found out at their first dress rehersal but by then it was too late !

What's up with all these American guys being good at guitar? lol This was a few years ago. The music has grown. The have a song called "The Dragon Cries" if you haven't heard it, please react to it. She sings all English lyrics in that one so you don't really need the captions (she's speaking much better English), but the lyrics are on screen in the video itself just in case.
