The fact that Dr. Moore didn’t see the bar area, the blood pattern, where Depp’s finger was found, and didn’t do any reconstruction of the incident and still said his expert opinion was the same after cross examination SPEAKS VOLUMES. They Defence totally screwed themselves with that redirect.

I happen to find Johnny’s account of the finger incident truly credible. I’ve also since heard the “Australia audio” tapes where Debbie and Dr. Kipper seemingly implicate Amber as responsible for the severed finger. Can you imagine having a traumatic injury such as this actively disputed by medical experts (and other non-experts) while you’re sitting there knowing exactly what happened to YOUR finger?!? Must be so frustrating to be Johnny in these instances.

Johnny made up some stories just as many people would when they don't want to retell something painful - saying he smashed it in a door etc to, in the moment, get people off his back.
The credible part for me is that when it MATTERED (depos, UK, Virginia....) His story is consistent and constant.
It's just a bonus that it matches leaked audio tapes, but he himself feels very authentic when talking about it.

It's hard to hear on that recording because AH is in the background and hysterical but she confesses to causing the severing of JD's finger. She says "I didn't do it on purpose!" And "I didn't mean to hurt him!" Really!! In Australia there is criminal "Broken Glass" legislation - throwing glass of any description - is criminal. Heard could have been charged! It could have been LETHAL for Johnny.

It is very possible to get this injury the way Depp said it happened. It is also very possible he got it another way. There is no way to know 100% either way unless you see it happen. He looked at medical records and some pretty graphic images of that injury. I mean, this is exactly what they do in medical school and what he had to do in his career to be able to at least confirm how the injury occurred. He never claims to know how exactly the injury occurred. But at the very least he knows that the way described is most likely not it. And honestly, from a common sense point of view, if your fingers are curled around the edge of a table with the under parts of your finger against the table or curled to the side, wouldn't the parts that he sustained injuries to be totally unexposed to impact? Wouldn't it make much more sense for the top part of that finger and multiple other fingers to sustain some sort of injury? There ain't even bruising at the dorsal part of the finger. The injury is concentrated at the palmer section of the finger. He's not bogus. You're just biased lol.

No one (no matter your medical experience) can accurately predict or describe the shattering of a glass bottle upon impact on an object (finger in this case), without a computer simulation that will account for the weight of that bottle, the speed at which it travelled, the contact angle upon impact, the change in kinetic energy of the shattered pieces, where these pieces landed as they shattered, roughness of shattered glass, etc.; coupled to another simulation of all realistic possibilities of reflex repositioning of the finger. It would not be a straight-forward static computational model, it is substantially dynamic.
If the injury was sustained by Mr. Depp as he described, I would believe that he may remember that his fingers were hanging off the counter; how his hand moved as he realized something was traveling in his direction, while in his inebriated state, is something no one could remember or describe, simply because they could not have seen the details of it in such a small time scale. They would have needed a device equipped with at least positioning sensors, a microscope and an ultra-high speed camera. We are talking microscopic time/position scales.
For instance, at time = 0 seconds, fingernail faces in-coming bottle. At time = 0.01 seconds, is the finger's position still the same? What about time = 0.02 seconds?
It has not flipped 360deg that's for sure, but it is not static either. I would expect the positioning angle of his finger to have changed by some degree, by time = 1 second.
It is also possible that the injury was not sustained as Mr. Depp described, however, an opinion based on photographs and medical experience can not render the laws of physics and dynamics irrelevant. There exists computational tools available for this type of analysis.
