Crocheting a Border on a C2C Blanket

Let's make a border on our Gnome Corner-to-Corner Crochet Blanket! This technique will work on any C2C blanket and you can make the border as skinny or thick as you'd like. I took the background color from all 12 gnome panels and made a round on the border with each color.

I am thrilled to see this tutorial. I just completed a C2C blanket, and afghan. I wanted to finish off with a border, but just couldn’t quite understand how.
Other tutorials seem to not quite make their methods simple enough for me to understand with my limited crochet skills.
I just crocheted a small sample C2C square to experiment with your technique and it worked great. Now to go add borders on my blanket and afghan.

Before starting round 2, do you have to chain one before doing your single crochets?

I slipstitched into the first single crochet and chained one at the start of each round
