    These are shit hot whips mate. I miss my 1992 Dyna 80ci evo. I think I found its replacement. I was thinking of a Triumph Speed Twin 1200 but this trumps the triumph. I love the stunt bike vibe of them.

    Have you rode the street bob? If so, would you choose the LRS over it? I’m currently debating between the two. Both have unique things I love and I can’t decide.

      I have rode the Street Bob, loved it and think it's a hoot to ride. I'd pick the bike that tugs at your heart strings best and go with it. Both are great bikes. Wahoo!

    I never got those mirror warning stickers on mine. Bought 7/2023. I love the bike, Seems to always be raining here, I did get it up to 250 miles finally. Did a 6th gear a roll-on from 65mph to to 100mph...It took a very long time to get to 100mph. My YZFR1 would have gotten to 150mph in that time. Very different bikes, I love my FXLRS. Not for speed, just for torque. Funny, I had it a month and got a recall notice in the mail. Not worried about that much,...it's just a bolt.

    The torque on the bike comes on very quickly. That was one of the very first things I noticed. At 5'6" I can flat foot it while the bars are a tiny bit of a reach. It has a nice sound. Not obnoxiously loud but noticeable. I was thinking I'd need a windshield but even at 70-80mph the cowling provides a decent amount of wind protection. It's not a touring bike but for a couple of hours it will probably provide enough wind deflection so the ride isn't exhausting.

I wouldn’t be opposed to forwards on this bike but I have crash/highway bars that make up for it and it’s just so perfect with mids for hard riding. Plus I’m only 6’ so I’m good for leg room

      Exactly my feelings with the crazy blacked out obsession HD has adopted. Having said that, they have never been known for the quality of their chrome. Peels on aluminium and rust spots only take days to appear in the wetter environments.
      The 117 fxlrs is something special to ride with heaps of power in any gear. Not to mention with forward controls super comfortable for a few hundred miles in a day.
      Loving mine.

      Unfortunately not anymore ... the discontinued Low Rider would be worth considering getting second hand. The styling is really nice (a bit more chrome, so aimed at the 'gentleman' moreso than the 'rebel'). It's a poor man's Sport Glide (no panniers, no fairing). One thing I love about the Lowrider is the wheel spoke styling.

    S = street Drag, according to a friend with a V&H modded one.
    I agree but my stage 1 Trumpet triple puts out over 150 hp on a 440 lb bike.
    Should be good sport running with the FXLRS.
    BUT anything that can get out of its own way is interesting. The quicker the better.

    how does this compare to speed twin or thruxton in terms of speed / power ? does harley feel more powerful?

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  Год назад +5

      That's a really interesting question. The Harley is a hard hitting straight line brute sporting that incredibly unique American V-twin cruiser styling, sounds & driving characteristics. Triumphs, especially the Thruxton, are all about handling & braking first, power second. I do love their style too, especially the Speed Twin. All these bikes have about the same horse power while the Triumphs have less torque and far less mass. Power/weight ratio would go to the Triumphs. The Low Rider has an incredible physical reaction to the throttle being twisted, a real show, experience. The Harley feels more powerful off the line but I'm guessing the Triumphs, each about 250 lbs lighter, are much faster. Wahoo! PS What have I done...

      Stock, this bike is super fun and impressive but yeah, after a month I did a V&H stage 1 with: Cage Fighter Intake, FP4 Tuner and a 2-1 Competition Pro exhaust which sounds incredible, super low and throaty that growls with every shift… gave it a NICE boost. I’m super happy with this bike and my current setup. Only thing I’d like to do still is mess with riser height but the stock risers are perfect for riding aggressive so it’s gonna be hit or miss with pros and cons any direction I go. Cheers
