I'm here in Cali. I haven't been to Harold's -- in Chicago -- in over 3 years; I'm so weak. They do have one in Cali (North Hollywood), but it's not the same. When I went there, they charged much more money and they put too much salt on the chicken, and barely give you any sauce, which is the most important thing because drowning your chicken in sauce - which melts in your mouth - is one of the signatures of Harold's Chicken. Hopefully they fixed this problem - but I don't know. I would rather - literally - jump on the plane just to get some Harolds, and some nice Chi-town BBQ.

Then again, maybe there were some spicies added or removed however nothing but mild sauce. Either way, I enjoy Mild/Mambo sauce!

Popeyes KFC opened their first location ever in the early 1950's. Popeyes (1972) and Churches (1952) were also found after Harold's opened their first location. So, what about burgers? McD's first Illinois location opened in 1955. Five years after Harold's opened their first location. Wendy's was founded much later than KFC, since the founder of Wendy's, was a KFC franchise owner. Burger King was founded in 1953 in Florida. So, again, after Harold's first opened. Jack in the Box- founded 1951 in San Diego, CA. I don't know what fast food franchises that are founded/based in the Mid West are. Maybe, she was talking about those chains. But, the major national chains, were founded after Harold's first opened!
