Nissan Patrol ZD30 CRD Egr valve failure

If you have an engine code po401,this could help you out.
Apparently this is a common fault with the EGR System on these ZD30 CRD engines.
We had real issues with the car when it first happened and we thought the worst.
Had the engine gone bang,it was running like it had three cylinder and wouldn’t idle properly or accelerate. It was blowing heaps of smoke also so you could imagine what we were thinking.
Spoke to a mechanic(my brother) who suggested we investigate the Egr valve so video takes us through that.
After removing that flap everything was reassembled and the Egr was blanked off and the vehicle is running perfectly now.
We will be throwing some upgrades to this engine over the next few months but for now it all good.

My flap must be down where yours ended up, l never found it. I did pull the manifold off and clean all the black sludge out of it while it was apart. I also did the resister mod on the pink MAF wire.

I bet there’s a lot of patrols with it down there. Pink wire mod would help too.
