Hi Everyone and Welcome to Promethean Sewing Machines, where I am unashamedly rebelliously creative when it comes to taking old forgotten sewing machines and bringing them back to life in a beautiful way.
    Meet my new project:
This older Singer 27 is going to be getting an exciting makeover. But first, as always, I need to take her apart to get the parts clean and her paint stripped. Thanks for coming along!
    ~Marie

WOW ... Love watching the disassembly & wondering what a beauty I know you'll turn her in to. The E-tank is amazing... What a fun process. Can't wait to see her next step in the overall process. As always, thanks for sharing!

Thanks again Marie for sharing. I seem to just enjoy watching these break down videos. I marvel that you take in the worst looking machines and get them going again. Out of my league for sure. Have a good one. Looking forward.

I think that you can do it. You've got curiosity. The interesting thing is every time you do something slightly different you have a whole brand new learning curve to deal with and if you can overcome that then it seems like you're good to go.

Hi Marie, my Dad used to do autobody and painting for a living, so watching these ladies coming in for an overhaul and makeover is real exciting. I can't wait to see what's in store for her! 👍

Hi there, and a lot of ways it is like overhauling a car. But I don't have to crawl under it and bust my knuckles. So I like that 😁😁

@@prometheansewingmachines Rusty banged up cars with crappy paint go into the shop and beautiful shiny ones come out with some amazing colors. I remember lots of metalflake paint and flames in the seventy's and eighty's. I remember helping wet sand cars till I had no fingerprints left....lol!

It doesn't really have a brand. I just looked for butane torch on Amazon and bought what came up on my price range 🤣

You know, I was thinking about the gun blueing idea. I don't know really anything about it but was thinking that preheating the metal might allow the blueing to prnetrate deaper into the metal. On cast iron skillets, curing them to cook on, the heat alllows the ool to oenetrate into the iron. As a matter of fact, i light to triple repeat the curing process, because i like to wash my skillet, and that allows quick washings with minor recuring subsewently. I think with iron heat opens up inter molecular oores. Just something else to consider.

I actually am sitting here with a quart of blueing, I think I'm going to try it out on a 66. Wish me luck!
