To be fair, they did like him a lot and they loved the idea and his business. Just they weren't the right fit. He said it himself. It was bc of that that other investors hit him up after the show aired.

It's not outright. He has an investor plus ABC takes 5% of the company and 2% in royalties just for being on the show whether u get a deal or not.

Honestly, some have. This is what you have with Oprah, Tyler Perry(like him or hate him), MLK, Malcom x, black Panthers, and so many more.
Yet, most black people are just like anyone else, if you tell a person no over and over again. They will believe more into that than themselves.

Your comment hit me hard especially when I saw (we) in there. I have been saying this for years. I hope that after this unfortunate virus is over we take a better look at ourselves. I know some of us are on a dangerous road but some of us are still part of the good hearted black spirit. We are the ones that can get this thing started and hope and pray the others will follow. All over this RUclips I have dropped comments like this and I'm so proud to see youre the same way. All it will take is a 50 state movement and we are on our way. It won't be easy but nothing is easy in life. Only black people can save black people. Others just sit back and criticize us but it's up to us to prove them wrong. There are lots of black people that would love to be a part of a business and put the work in.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it.Take the street knowledge and apply it to your goals legally. I am a former convict and successfully running my own company.

Congratulations, I went from street hustle to stock investor and trader. I'm a convicted felon, I use what I did when I was hustling to the stock market, trading penny stocks, crypto, options, swing and day trading ain't nothing but selling drugs, buy low and sell high. It's like this, you can make money or you can make excuses- you can't do both.
Doing your own thing is the way to go, especially if you have prior issues.
Shark tank is not for everyone. Most of the people they pick is already rich or have money. Thank you sir for not giving up. Young black and middle aged people need to see and hear your story. Black people come together please.

Shawn B even if they don’t get an investment, they get free exposure which is great. The sharks know that just by these folks pitching being on their show, their businesses will catapult. I have bought many products from folks on the show that didn’t get deals. I’m sure I’m not the only one. They actually did a show on the success stories from those who got denied.

The people are not always rich, but they are not black Do what you can to be successful. Don't worry about black people coming together. You can't put your life or dreams on hold waiting for all black people to come together.
Shark Tank hit and miss from time to time. They missed big time but it's good for him cause they would 25%-75% share of his company and profits. I'm happy for him.

If I was on there I would have put my money up cause people are not going to want to cook all the time and it's black owned. The Sharks would've want to 25%- 75% share of his company but they would've made sure the business would generate money. Plus he's in the church also which don't sit well with the Sharks cause the owner consider it as the Most High's business.

Exactly, The Sharks always lurking for ways to make money, own, and take 25%-75% profits of others people ideas. Can't be mad at them for they came to them asking for a loan. It's hard for black people to get a loan in spite of having a 750 credit score.

I never get tired of hearing this story since I first saw the episode on Shark Tank. While he did not make the deal I do value that the sharks have brought him up multiple times over the years about how they missed out cuz that's free advertising and a reminder of how great the product is not to mention this is a deep business man entrepreneur deep dream deep passion deep Drive and most importantly deep results.

I think it is what RICH AMERICA is afraid of. As more middle class and poor become more equal, the RICH are the ones who lose the power in the country. As long as they have the middle and lower income fearing and fighting one another, they can preserve their wealth and power. That's not to say there is no racism, but it is not as one sided as you think it is. It's really comes down to one color, green. Hence the reason the skyrocketing number of incarcerations in our country and the most targeted is the poorest. Mad respect for this man and hope that this can be more reflective of the future. It is time that we rebuild our communities instead of watching them be destroyed. The government doesn't care about the people, only it's own survival and power. It is up to us to save our country and communities, as no one else is going to do it for us. It can't be divided.

I loved this. I respect how he didn't bash them and that they acknowledged they missed out. Timing is everything. So many people just resort to insulting the ones who tell them no but no is a right given to all of us. This is an awesome guy. I remember seeing this episode but did not realize he was from my area . I love to hear success stories.
Definitely the truth here and I'm a testament to this as well. I took a 3 year road trip from Baltimore, Maryland to 42 states to support local and black owned businesses and learn about the real America. I used Uber/Lyft in each city and got to explore (Tennessee was love) currently writing a book series on my experiences in each region coming out from a Baltimore perspective. I would definitely like to connect to share more about my story.

I don't think god had nothing to do with it. It was all him. Yet if God is the white man, he has everything to do with the fake and false success of every black woman in america. That's real talk about life...I am Chef Joe in Pahrump, NV and Belen, NM and was homeless for 6 years and lost everything and now own two catering business and in Pahrump area now 0.67 acres of land and 5 acres of land in Belen, NM and got my portable small equipment to start my business as today..just have faith and will power to overcome obstacles in life periods!

The very real visual of watching someone else drive the vehicle that I started, only because I let my foot off the gas, is very true but hard concept to see. I've had plenty of goals but at times I've made them unattainable or lost hope and stopped only to see others attain what I wanted. The entrepreneurial mindset is not for the weary or faint of heart.
