  • Went out to check on my 8V71 powered 1974 Pierce ladder truck for the first time since parking it last year. I seem to be losing prime somewhere in my fuel system so it took some convincing to get started. I also checked out all the hydraulic functions including the 55' ladder.
This truck is originally from Syracuse NY and was one of 7 nearly identical 4x4 equipped trucked delivered at that time

Man what a pure monster! What transmission does this rig have, Allison 740? Can you please do a super long ASMR driving video on this one, as well as Sparkles? Make sure to begin the ASMR videos with engine startup, and end them with engine shutdown, and make sure to include lots of runs through the gears, cruising, jaking, all that good stuff. ASMR videos help me fall asleep at night, and I'd love some super long ones on your rigs! Please let me know ASAP.

Did you work with these trucks previously or did you learn about them just as a hobby? Really enjoy your videos!

Its a pierce. Pierce built in 74 on a hendrickson chassis and a Highway Truck Parts telesquirt/ladder. Recabbed in the 80's to the current Spartan cabin.
Pierce was in the fire truck busness long before 79. First body was in 1939

It was refurbed in 1989 with a Spartan Cab. This was our truck in Millersburg, PA in the late 80s until 1997 when we purchased our current truck.

Checkers is right it served in Syracuse NY then to millersburg pa then to martins corner then to alabama.i ran with millersburg it was replaced in 97.
Hers the info if interested Unit : Truck 20
      Year : 1974
      Model : Spartan/Pierce
Millersburg re-entered the truck company business in 1989 with the purchase of a 1974 Spartan Tele-Squirt. The truck was refurbished and put on a Pierce chassis and painted the white over red scheme to match the rest of the apparatus. Old Truck 20 had a 1500 GPM pump and a 500 gallon tank. Old Truck 20 was in service until 1997 when the current Truck 20 was purchased. The truck was sold to Martin's Corner and was painted lime green and served them until the mid-2000s when the truck was purchased by the Falkville Fire Department in Alabama where it is presumably still in service.
