@lucy9359 Actually, he was an Anglican bishop. And not just pentecostals believe it. There's a remnant in nearly every denomination. But it is very true!
Well, you are almost correct. When two gammas are next to eachother, the first 'becomes' (or is pronounced as) a nu (n). But 'euangelion' is wrong, since when an upsilon/ypislon is after a epsilon, it is pronounced as a v. So the correct transliteration would be 'evangelion' (since you normally transliterate the way a word is pronounced, not the way it is written).
jesus came into galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of god. this kingdom was not established at that time,he was talking about the future when he will come into his kingdom on earth after satans rule is finished . . this is the gospel the whole gospel, when he will be king of this world. it,s more complex of course but put simply.
This is Lordship Salvation, a false message. The gospel is NOT "Jesus is Lord and Ceaser is not." The gospel is NOT "I declare my allegiance to the Lord (Lordship Salvation)" See the gospel outlined in 1 Cor 15:1-4.
tmantz625 "If a person doesn't want to make Jesus their Lord, how can he benefit them as a saviour?" I answered your question. This question makes it obvious you do not know the difference between salvation and service. You still don't.
Wright is saying that the heart of the gospel is that Jesus is Lord; the other stuff he says follows from that. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 succinctly affirms Wright's point: Jesus' death and resurrection, a reality preached by Paul, demonstrates Jesus' Lordship and shows its meaning in terms of scripture, and thus calls out for our allegiance. I have no idea what you mean by "Lordship Salvation."
urpleurple Starting around 01:50 in the video you will see his heresy where Wright changes the gospel from one of simply believing in Jesus' death on the cross for salvation (Christ centered faith) to "a summons to allegiance which is a total change in your way of life", etc. (Self-righteous, Self-focused faith). Lordship Salvation is the heresy that one is saved by making Jesus Lord of your life (self-centered faith). You are saved by trusting Christ's work (Christ centered faith) not our promise to live a life as Wright - a heretic - is calling for here.
This might be somewhat unfair but it bothers me, so I am going to say it anyway. The Gospel is a summons to live a life that is radically different from the life of those in the world. Ok. Do we see much evidence that Christians are living like this? No. Of course there will always be some people who are living in this way, but the majority just aren't. In fact, the majority are quite nominal- indifferent. This bothers me. Going to Church is just so mediocre.
I find him too vague as well -- I think I agree with him on his "New Perspective" on Paul, for example, but he takes too many words and they are too nuanced.
20july1944 The Greek language in which the New Testament was written has many nuanced and rich meanings which don't easily transfer into the English language. Combine that with the history of Judaism, add in the historic elements of the political and religious culture of the pagan nations, sprinkle in an additional 2,000 years of church history and you would hope that somebody would take the time to add a few extra words and thoughts to the statement that "Jesus died for our sins" in order to explain how the Gospel of 33 AD is the Gospel of 2014 AD. How do you go about explaining the Gospel to people?
***** Yes, all that about the subtleties of Greek, but I'm saying that Wright should still be able make clear statements in our common English tongue after teasing out all the Greek subtleties and I'm often simply not sure what Wright's bottom line is. Greek should not hinder him there.
20july1944 That's interesting. From all the books that I've read and videos I've watched he has helped me quite a bit in better understanding the basis of Christ's life, death, and resurrection. Have you experienced another theologian who gets to the bottom line faster?
Why did this video get 10 thumbs-down and zero thumbs-up? Everything he just said is very easy to prove both historically and biblically.
love this video!

where can i find this complete interview?
Well...looks like my eyes played a trick on me...in fact only zero thumbs-down. That's comforting. Allow me to be the first thumbs-up! =)

You do not know the difference between salvation and service. Check it out.
You will not be saved unless Jesus is your Lord.

Your comment is vague. What is "too vague" about what N.T. Wright expounded?

This is the "changed life" gospel which sends you to hell.
Yeah but its hard to get saved because the devil keeps stealing the word and he never shuts up
this guy just waffles. no concrete answer.
N T Wrights Gospel is empty and dark...
