so sad , so happy, so full of joy and memories............. this music is the way your life is going, with ups and downs, fast and slow... happiness and sadness
In our troubling times it is nice to listen to such creative music that seems to offset some of the cruelty and pain we humans dole out to each other in our short sad lives.
Merci Monsieur Pachelbel.
"Pachelbel my dear boy good show! I do say that there was a strange lad running around today and I told him of your preformance tonight. Though i know not if he could hear me very well, he said he had some rather important buisness to attend to and ran off posthase. Oh well i suppose that is the life of a welshman always on the run."
heard this on a Bambi psa about wildfires and in the are you afraid of the dark? episode the Tale of the Last Dance from 2000 when it aired on nickelodeon!
@notethisname I have NO idea why anybody would put that there, since he was born in 1653 and died in 1706. Maybe the painting was published in 1748... ?
Not that I will likely see the answer but. What version did Bob Kerr play when he would go on holidays in the summer time? I always loved that version, It was sad that I would hear that version and know that one would have to listen to repeats. Gone are the best of the old radio announcers. They were so knowledgeable! Nothing close to them nowadays.
@acc96build well there is a discussion of the possible date of death... then again 101 years is a long life with todays standards so you may be right, but then the portrait will be completely inaccurate! And considering that most portrait was pretty much inaccurate to start with. Oo
I think this song inspired the writers of Vitamin C: Graduation Song. There are very very similar parts in the pop classic. watch?v=GGZ0mDQc3rQ&feature=related

I think something like that almost every time i listen to classical masterpieces, glad to see people that think similar
Even playing this on the piano still sounds wonderful. With the full orchestra it is heavenly.
This is one of my favorite pieces of music!

1:35 The first stage's theme song in "山百合連弾 - Lilian Fourhand -" and "Mika's theme" from Under Night IN-BIRTH used this part of the song. Neat!

I wonder what the great composers after 1748 thought of this piece, it must have inspired them deeply
This masterpiece has inspired Maroon 5
