Hi, great video of a superb coach, I have the same coach as it’s one of my favourite liveries, I also have the Bachmann inspection coach in the same livery, I have a decoder and stay alive to fit into min3 when I get some spare time. Revolution make an awesome coach which is an expensive addition but it is a quality item, there should be a stay alive fitted as standard to stop the flickering, I guess Revolution Trains wanted to keep the cost down, I don’t believe there will be a second run so this item is unique, thanks for sharing.
Yes it’s a fine model indeed. It’s a pity mine needed the added expense of a stay alive to sort out its lighting issues, but I could have sent it back.🤔 Sometimes I think personally I’d rather sort it myself, but I do agree that these kind of models should be perfect when you buy them. Anyway I’m happy with it now. Thanks for taking time out to watch & comment👍 Cheers John b 😎
Thanks for watching, & yeah it is a nice model. There’s a good chance it will be left in a siding somewhere easy to hand rather than being boxed up & hidden away. I’ve just managed to get a driver from Modelu so I’m going to see if he fits👍 I heard a rumour that they might be producing a set of figures especially for the coach??? Cheers John b😎
Hi Darrell, thanks for watching. Which version did you get? I would really would have liked the Green NR version to fit the layout, but as I said in the video I had to settle for the BR blue one. I’m not disappointed at all despite the flickering issues, I saw that others were having the same problems. Not wanting to solder wires between the pickups & the coach body I thought I’d go down the “stay alive” route…. Another £20 on top of what is a very expensive bit of rolling stock, but I do think it’s worth it.👍 Was yours all ok? I saw that people were having problems with finding the right decoder too. Mine has a Train- O - Matic one fitted, I got from Roadsandrails. All good, cheers again & thanks for watching🙏 John b😎
@@colwichjunction3366 I’ve got the viridian green version and fitted a Laissdcc decoder with the facility for stay alive, all functions works as they should, first time I ran it flickered like mad but settled down after a few circuits, think I’ll still add a stay alive next time I’ve got the body off and fit some people at the same time 👍
Hi. What decoder and stay alive unit did you use please? After reading the many posts on RM web about which decoder to use, I opted for the Lais 860019, and I can’t even get the decoder to stay in place. It’s as if the receiving holes in the decoder are too big for the pins 👍🏻🚂
I used a Train-O-Matic 21 pin Lokomander II Mini DCC decoder coupled to a Train-O-Matic SPP stay alive. Supplied by Roads and Rails. I know what you mean about the loose fitting decoder, it’s not too bad, but not as tight as others I’ve installed in other models. Thanks for watching Brian, I hope that helps. Cheers John B

Looks a nice model John, good review and it’s always nice to see models running on the layout.

Excellent review, I’m very pleased with mine and glad I purchased it, definitely agree it needs a gentle weathering, cheers Darrell 👍
