What tools do you use? le me know in comments
Unsubscribed due to you using dumb ass faces on thumbnails
Why not just clone the whole drive for backup? :)
I like the idea of Ventoy with multiple ISO's but I've had trouble following one or more of your videos...but I'm willing to try again. Which one do you best recommend (for clarity)?
“I like the idea of a Ventoy-based USB drive with multiple ISOs, but I've had trouble following one or more of your videos (including the Strelec vid) ...but I'm willing to try again.
Which one do you best recommend for clarity?” I really need something that shows what to do step by step.
@@TheForce_Productions How to safeguard your hammer? use a screwdriver instead!
Besides that, yea, Linux never craps out, that never happens oh no :p
Strelec’s, Hirens and Phoenix PE. Strelec’s has tools that the others don’t. So I keep all 3 in my kit just in case. Medicat was way more trouble setting up the iso than it was worth.
Like my dad taught me as a child in a non-tech situation...it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! 👍👍
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
Better be safe than sorry
Well said!
I've never actually had to use any recovery media on my own personal systems, and luckily modern operating systems are somewhat 'self-healing'.
Every usb tip and tool you’ve covered becomes an iso file on my external 8tb bootable usb drive loaded with medicat. I have three of them that I use to perform rotating backups. One local (safe), one in the car (waterproof shockproof clamshell) and one off site, rotating and updated quarterly.
Three 8TB flash drives?! My man is high rolling superstar. :)
Britec has saved my bacon on so many occasions, including getting me back into a locked-out computer when I was bizarrely locked out when Microsoft issued a "Call us overprotective but we need you to verify your email". The email was so old, it was Tiscali, now defunct. A nightmare.
holy moly! reading this has made me thankful I know how to do local accounts in windows 11! but I love debian better, its just that most of the games I plan only work on windows
After watching this video, I've just downloded Aomei free backupper and ordered an external portable SSD, which I hope to collect in a few days. I messed up my PC recently, and had to use the built-in Recovery option. Before I began the recovery, I made a list of all the programs (apps) that were about to be lost, (Adobe Acrobat Reader, LibreOffice, etc), so I could download them all again. It was easy, but time-consuming to go through all this, so I've decided it's time to back up to an external SSD, and maybe buy a new internal SSD for when my current one dies on me. It is very old.
I use Macrium Reflect (free). Lets hope we never need those backed up drives.
M.2 in a usb enclosure, ventoy to multi boot image files and have a usable space for other tools.
That is great for technicians
@@Britec09 great for anyone. Only one drive to carry, and if the drive dies or you need a larger capacity, just swap the m.2 drive.
@epsileth Exactly! on both your comments! 👍
can you please make a video about how to permanently disable windows 10 in 2023? i have watched your 5 years old video it's amazing but now even after trying all that when i open services windows update is turned on everytime! please 🙏
I recently made effort to do the Medicat rescue flash drive.
That is worth having
How could you forget MEDICAT? Medicat is like the ultimate bootable recovery ISO
Because it's full of viruses
@@MaxRiley All false positives
great timing - just got myself a handful of kingston data traveller exodia 64gb drives for this very thing
Enjoy
As usual a great video... I'm sticking with Win 7 Pro on my desktop (I know, I know 😁), which I only use for some retro gaming, media consumption, and emails and reading etc, any recommendations on what image is best for this OS..? .... Thanks in advance, keep up the excellent work 😉👌
Fair enough!
Bro your channel rocks so much you going put us who work at pc repair shops out of bessness 😂😂😅
You rock man
If i could join your channel as a member i would.
Thanks
I use a MediCat USB and another with Ventoy with Hiren's UBCD, Ubuntu, Kali, a Win 10 iso and a Win 11 iso. I can do anything I want with these 2.
Very Useful. THANKS👍👍
Welcome 😊
Thanks, very useful.
Great video Brian!!!
Thanks!
Great video Britec, ❤
Thanks
Thank You Brian.
Very welcome
I use AOMEI backup. I backup my computer monthly. It's very easy to restore.
The recommended SanDisk Ultra Flair USBs are decent, but they get very hot when in use.
Would be nice to have some links to the programs you mentioned.
Great video as usual!
Would you suggest that these be loaded on to separate USB drives as opposed to one external hard drive in separate folders? I have a large external that would accommodate all of those software programs.
You need to be able to boot from the usb to enter recovery software which is why its recommended to have either several flash/thumb drives, or one larger one. Makes life easier when you're already distressed coz your pc isnt working right. Lets hope the majority of us never need them but have them anyway.
The advantage of having your softwares distributed between different USB drives is that if one of your drives dies, you don't lose acces to all your software.
For Ventoy do you use GPT and NTFS or exFAT?
Great videos!
I use Macrium Reflect. Does it all. Let's you make a bootable USB drive and you can restore an image from startup. Had a blue screen pop up about 6 months ago and was able to restore an image from the blue screen.
Good to know! I use it to clone drives which I hope I'll never have to use. Its also great for moving from a hdd to ssd.
Totally thought that the BOD was a thing of the past.😮
Nope
Dad BODs are the norm 😂
Instead of ventoy, I use winpe by sergei strelec, it has a lot of diagnostic apps and benchmarking apps, and it can install any version of windows to host pc, I liked it a lot, hope you cover it up someday in your video! :)
He has covered it. Search the videos
@@dominicene3647 found it, my bad.
But Ventoy isn't the same as Winpe. Ventoy is used to make USB drives bootable with any ISO, from what I gather Winpe by Sergei is a Winpe environment with luts of software include copyrighted software.
@@jackkraken3888 Correct, Sergei is like MediCat
I regularly create a new recovery drive after certain successful Windows updates to keep them from going out of date. That way I won't be stuck with a recovery drive that is no longer current.
How often would you update the Recovery Drive Brian?
Thanks for sharing
Thx!
No problem!
On the U.S. Amazon site the 128GB is cheaper than the 64GB lol.
i have got 2 flash drives both are 32GB with Windows 10 one is in English and the other is in Spanish as i have a niece who has a computer in Spanish. However i will need to update my flash drives to include the tools so that i can sort out any problems
Thanks for sharing
Why ISOs launch in 4k res in ventoy, please? Icons and fonts are too small.
I use Medicat, very good
Yes I thought you had done a video not that long ago Brian re the Ventoy all purpose USB tool I think I shall stick with that one as I am a unholy collector of USB sticks and cannot remember what I have on most of them. But good advice all the same mate.
System image written to a portable hard drive, that's what I do every time I got a bunch of new stuff installed and my data I keep a copy on a separate drive.
can you do all this stuff with Tech Tool? And UKV KIller
No
Wish i could've done this a while ago
using Ventoy saves me all this pain
Kingston DataTraveler Exodia M DTXM/64GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 £2.75 Amazon UK
Cool!
Thanks
How to fix windows:
1. save personal files
2. sudo rm -rf c:\
3. install Debian
Ventoy is great but the signature does not work with Windows11
Portable SSDs are the way to go
Yes
I must do something wrong then, because I have not had a BSOD since i bought my computer in early 2017.🤷♂️
I did a full file backup on my computer and I'm trying to restore it. everything I've tried doesn't work. Tryed booting from the USB, recovery in the system control panel, etc. Don't know what I'm doing wrong to get back up onto my computer. So, I reinstalled Windows 10 not using my backup to get the computer back up again. Saved personal files are on the backup I made. The file extension for the backup is .pbd
According to Google that backup was created by EaseUS Todo Backup. You're going to have to reinstall EaseUS to recover that backup.
When you reinstall Easeus, create the recovery iso they prompt you to create and use Ventoy or Rufus as described by Brian
I use iobit advanced system care and iobit uninstaller. They have worked great for me. They can take an unusable pc and bring it back to life
I read that as USB Flash Drive Every PC User Nerds 😂
lol
Eeeeeh... whenever i need a tool or a bootdrive to recover or reinstall a PC, i use a thing called "the laptop in the bag i never ever use" to create a boot USB drive that is actually up to date, so i don't have to lose hours of my time regularly updating a bunch of USB sticks
I need only my Ventoy stick. dump all ISO OS in it and ready.
now with bitlocker enabled by default nothing will help :(. poor people they don't even know
Ransomware is a different story.
I HATE HATE HATE BILLGATES MICROSOFT!!!! I AM Breaking away from everything GOOGLE and anything Microsoft Im deleting all microsoft accounts once i switch to linux or MAC You dont see Britech tech chanels on how to repair and Protect your stuff on Linux or mac? I wonder why?
...Linux Mint is waiting for you welcome aboard.
@@sedanchair2 how much is th os cost for mint and debliating once downloaded s it necessary to run tronscript after install? Two part question really
I have 3 USBs ready
#1 64gb ventoy that includes all windows setups
Aomei partition assistant
Aomei backupper
Sterlic Sergey win pe
Easeus partion master
Easeus data recovery wizard.
#2 USB ventoy have some custome windows 10 and 11 isos
#3 usb I have portable windows 10 installed
I'm a PC user and I absolutely don't need these. Please be more specific. These are for windows users, not every pc user.
Scratching my USB flash drive itch lol
Oh yes sir
Microsoft needs to be broken to line theit pockets !!!! Same with google! I cant wait to change OS
How put all of this tools in one usb ?
It's not possible.
Ventoy can be used to place numerous ISO files onto one USB flash drive.
Ubuntu?! An egregiously silly name for an operating system, which demonstrates the necessary fact that computer nerds, geeks and greeks are drug-addled, at least some of the time.🙄
lmao. Are you aware of the meaning of the word Ubuntu?
