today we will build the ultimate USB toolkit 2022, this is a must have pc repair toolkit. We will be using Aomei PE Builder. I will show you step by step on how to add portable apps to your WinPE. You can use this tool to fix computers, backup data, data recovery and many other things.

I use a Ventory SSD or HDD (from old laptops) for backing up using WinPE and partition the disk for 20% Ventoy and 80% Data (using the "Partition Configuration" menu item of Ventoy). In the case of a 1TB HD, you will have a 200GB ISO partion for Ventoy and 800GB for Data. I then BitLockerToGo the 800GB partition in Windows .
This way you can perform backups directly to the encrypted partition. If you lose the drive, the data backups will be secure.
Nice one Brian I shall have to watch a few times to get the drive made but it is certainly helpful to have to see that the drive is bootable. I already have the paid for AOMEI software which I use for backups as I find the Macrium backup very convoluted to use. It will also supplement the tools on a USB stick that you gave us the other day with various tools on it too😀

Aomie's Partition assistant is great, used it for resizing and merging partitions that windows disk management refused to do!

@@jesusneedsyou3507 Hiren's is wildly bloated compared to this. When he says "most PE's you'll find on the internet are loaded full of things you'll never use", he's talking about Hiren's.

Thanks Brian. As always, an interesting and useful video. You might be interested to know that I followed the instructions and created a drive which does not boot on the desktop PC I bult it on but DOES boot on one of my Fujitsu laptops. Looks as if I will have some homework this weekend!

Great video. I will download and test it. I do have a generic question. Is it possible to mount several USB disks as a RAID volume ? I have a bunch of external USB drives ranging from 4GB to 320 GB I would like to "join" into a single Volume (Like we were able to do with Hard drives before.

This is a tool to be used with ventoy, this is a winpe.
I use some old 32 bit "Zorin" Linux install on external disk and Clonezilla (disk and partition copy) for similar stuff. I felt for making a WinPE as well when watching.
First thank you for posting this. I've created a recovery USB using your directions, however, subsequently determined the C drive on the target machine is Bitlocker encrypted and inaccessible. Is there any capability of the USB drive to unlock Bitlocker encrypted drives (eg: using the 48 character encryption key)? I can find no options to do so and obviously this drive encryption is pretty common presently.

I havent really used winpe for this. Normally i use linux tools such as partimage and i believe its called chntpass.
Can place all AOMEI ISO files in a USB drive set up with Ventoy?
What is the minimum amount of memory this can be loaded onto? I'm trying to boot from this on a Compaq CQ5210Y with 3gb of memory. It loads a background, but that's it. No icons appear on screen. Could the small amount of ram be restricting it?
Love your content, you’ve taught me a lot. But I notice you often rely on third party tools, like in this video you mention a few. I recently set up file backup, system image and USB recovery tool only using W10. I had to erase some system partitions which I had to do in powershell but it worked out fine. Isn’t there a benefit in not having too many tools downloaded for security, simplicity etc - even if it means slightly less convenience?
If you're overly worried about installing unknown progs on your comp then yes otherwise these programs usually shorten the time needed to type codes in shell etc and maybe combine 2-3 or more tools into one.
I know I can use diskpart or disk management, but I use magic partition cuz it's easier.
At the end it's all preferences

Can you use this to update BIOS? I have a laptop that I suspect has a corrupted BIOS, it still powers on and boots to the BIOS but it get’s stuck on the App Menu (Lenovo)
Why not use Hirenboot PE .. It works like charm and has tools we all tech guys use ..
Hirens Boot CD is a better Option it has a tone of tools including password recovery and Data recovery saves the time building custom portable apps i might give this a go has it looks like it runs of windows 11 so will give a go at making a custom build with the tools i use

But ... there is a BUT ...
My plan was to fill this USB-stick with a few Portable Apps.
So I made a folder Portable and made there folders for every app.
And put the apps in their folders.
On my Windows PC all the apps wil start, but on the Windows PE-stick they won't start !!
Can you please tell me how to do this ??
I was doing this with xcopy and WiMBuster back in 13. I’m sure there were other ways as well.

I would prefer Windows 10 XPE. It is very customizable powerful. Just my preference
AOMEI dont work backup if you backup disc with bad sector or index. Nothing information/warning but when you restore on this place of bad is total break.

grest piece of tool used it before. great video. wondering if you know of a god tool for win 11 recover password login because the ones i have only work for 10 and below.
i use it with ventoy tools. with 1 usb i got multi boot option (win 7 8 10 11 + ampee too). with me it better than refus so much, don't need format usb many times, just copy iso to usb and delete if u don't need it anymore.
That is correct, you can drop this iso into ventoy

Been using AOMEI for years and with the low price of 128 gig SSD's I quit buying USB flash drives as it only takes an adapter and the speed difference is amazing, not to mention what can be done with the extra space...
Even more you can make a clone of "C" drive and keep it for emergency situations, by using dual booting and bcd or by change the effected drive with it`s clone if you have hardware limitations (i.e. laptop with one drive bay). An other solution is the "Windows to go" facillity with which you can make a bootable USB drive wich can work on any machine which has avaliable a USB connector!!!!!
@@vasilispapas482 Yep I do all of that as well as using AOMEI backup prog instead of Winblows...Right now I have 2 SSD's in RAID O mode with Win 11 ":Windows to Go" which boots as fast as if not faster than most Puters with internal SSD's :)
@@411LED Yes , AOMEI is a grate pice of software and i use the Technician edition (paid) but that iwant to say here is that there are more than one way to make thinks working.

Is there a reason to use the AoMei Backupper to create an image of Files and Folders?
Why not use FastCopy for instance and just copy the Files and Folders...?
Some features of their software is paid. I don't have it installed on my computer at the moment but check their comparison site to see what you get for free and what is paid
Hirens boot cd pe is a better source as it includes just about everything you need already baked in. Why waste time and money and just use a freesource item.

Hello, I have found an issue on some hp laptops and I am unable to boot from USB, basically, I am trying to boot WinPE but is just displaying the loading bar then simply restarts, again and again, secure boot is disabled but the same issue. Is anyone who had this issue?

Sergei Strelec's WinPE is truly incredible. But it does have unlicensed software such as the Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (DaRT).

@@velocity5718 i keep a linux iso and a windows iso on a ventoy usb ... I can boot into linux ( use it without installing) and fix my problems and backup and reinstall windows..

If my PC won't boot even when using this tool. Does this mean my PC has had it?
I believe I've said before that what I do is after I install Windows, all of the updates and programs, I make an ISO image of my entire boot drive and save it to a 500TB portable M.2 USB drive. Then if something happens to my OS, I can wipe my C drive and reinstall from the ISO.
But in the repair business, these are good to have
@@Britec09 That's true if you have the time mess hunt for virus' or corrupt OS files. But I make my living as a ghostwriter. I'm typing 8 to 10 hours per day, so my PC repair time is limited. I'll do quick hardware repairs or upgrades for people in my local area. But if they want me to fix their OS problems, all I have time for is wiping the boot drive and reinstalling Windows.
